Honestly unicorns are one of those weird species that, logically, there's no reason one couldn't exist. Like nothing about having a horn makes an equestian species less survivably possible. And when you consider rhinos exist, and there's possibly extinct species that are closer to bovine species that had horns almost like a unicorn (more like a unicow), nothing about a unicorn is functionally impossible. It was just never worth evolving a horn as a horse.

Well that wasn't as comfy as we probably could've hoped for
But it was really cool and interesting to me at least. The animation was super clean and they played with dream weirdness really well. I'm definitely interested in seeing more.
It started in late-autumn so if it's been going slowly it might just have not even cleared winter yet.
Alternatively in the time between season one and season two there was a series of mini-episodes, Heya Camp, that came out. That might've maybe been some warmer-season content? Don't know though, since I never got around to watching it.
I'm pretty sure it's just been moving slowly though.

Yeah if they're only at New Years it might be that the series just hasn't progressed much chronologically. The first season wrapped up around Christmas after all.
hmm I guess we'll see if this is one worth keeping around two very weird tone shifts in the first episode, to grimdark and then to cute girls doing cute things

There's a loooot of stuff airing this season. And unlike last season where the stuff that aired a bit late were all kind of whatever shows, there might be some pretty fun shows coming in a bit late this season. I wouldn't mourn not finishing either of these shows in the end though.

We'll have a banquet of stuff to pick from tomorrow though New Show By Rock featuring all the bands from previous seasons, Yuru Camp season two Higurashi picking back up, Go-toubun no Hanayome season two, Hataraku Saibou season two Hataraku Saibou BLACK, and some other show that has characters kind of reminscent of designs by the mangaka of Seven Deadly Sins
