rook you know about the "water in oven" trick to get the crust on bread bit harder?

you can just spread the bread with water instead of oil/butter/egg too
and salt water can be damn fun with that too

I myself have found doing it with water and then peppering the bread with black pepper from a mill
adds a nice touch to the bread

or just mixing black pepper into the dough

nto to mention chili
