Either way there are always shows like this that I get pulled along with when you say you want to keep up with them but then it never actually happens. It would be easy to watch everything we're behind in if we do five episodes a night for a BRIEF period of time--this both stays within your "anime fatigue" range and doesn't actually endure for a long time. And then everything returns to normal nice and quickly and the regular schedule resumes.
It will be easy to catch up. We can probably work on it this weekend too.

Well that in particular is kind of a theme. But normally you'd have another character to offset that. Having both the MC and Robot-chan be robotic would be fine if there was another person around to add flavour to the mix. Aoi Yuki's character kind of served that purpose but then she went and fucking died.

But I mean, there are definite moments of intrigue peppered in here and there. Like said fucking dead character showing up in that old man's photo with the MacGuffin. There's a web of mysteries that is strung up all throughout this series but it's hard to get into it because a lot of the material is just monotone dialogue that gets a bit too naval-gaze-y.
