What an adorable, funny heartwarming show. I'm glad I went back to rewatch s1 before any of the newer stuff. I'd forgotten how good it was. Maybe I even enjoyed it more this time around than the first time I watched s1 years ago. 8.5/10

I just mean like, from a vibes perspective It's considered bad form to openly state her past youtube presence, from what I understand, but for most of the others it's generally considered fine even if you're not supposed to in direct interactions like comments and chat

I think Gura's probably comfortable putting that era behind her, so it's respectful to not bother I think it's usually considered bad form in most corpo Vtuber communities to reference past lives or personal personas, since it kind of fucks with the kayfabe, and in moderated environments like stream chat, the actual companies will usually restrict it from being a topic Talents are also strictly not allowed to reference their personal personas as part of their contract, as these companies aren't going to allow someone to transparently use them to get a bump in fame and then take that

The situation with Dokibird right now is a fair bit different because it's thrown the English Vtuber sphere into a bit of an open revolt So a lot of the social norms here are being thrown out the window

She is great at fostering a community dynamic where she tries to reward those who do stuff from her, even if it's just regularly tuning in and enjoying her content In addition to that I think a lot of people are justifiably infuriated that the toxic environment with NijiEN's management drove her to a suicide attempt They didn't even step over the line in the sand, they took a running long jump at it and cleared it
