There's a point in the game where playing it for fun doesn't really get fun anymore too. Because the grind requirements get so absurd there's not really any feeling of reward for playing. Unless you go all in on it.
The entire game is an obligation. You have to grind constantly, every day, every few hours. And most of the time, you don't get anything for it. Probably like 99% of the time, you don't get anything for it.
I think the battle game mechanics are pretty well done. While the writing isn't great, it's funny and engaging and the characters are likeable. And the main plot doesn't get asspull-y. And all the aesthetic aspects of the game are great. But FUCK it just isn't rewarding to play if you don't want to grind a tonne.

It's categorization for the sake of categorization at this point
>>134784 I think that would be true if each entry could only belong to a single category that's not the case though, an artist/album/song could belong to a wide variety of genres and that helps give people an idea on what kind of music that artist makes >Normal people can't navigate all the "genres" of music anymore normal people can't navigate all the different care makes and models, or their differences year by year, but that information is vital to anyone that messes with cars as a hobby same thing with music genre's there are genre's that encompass a huge variety of music like rock or rap or funk, so why shouldn't there be more hyper-specific genres for people who want to look for something specific
>>134784 Normal people not caring about categorization is not important to the purpose of categorization.
Pink Autism
>>134784 There are sub-genres within genres, but it gives an easier route to explore different music with similar stylistic origins. Kirara☆
>>134790 Categorization being useful is important to the purpose of categorization
>>134796 It is. I can give you a thousand year rant as to why RPG is a terrible handle for a genre and yet everyone uses it for games that play through menus and have stories attached. But specificity is important for grouping common things together into genres. That it has "exploded" into "New Metal" "Hard Metal" "Death Metal" "Metal Metal" is more a sign of us being bad at naming things. But it's useful in terms of gathering.
>>134784 >Normal people can't navigate all the "genres" of music anymore who are the "normal people" in this statement? people who only listen to the radio? people who only listen to obscure shit?
Pink Autism
>>134788 >why shouldn't there be more hyper-specific genres for people who want to look for something specific I should have explain that I want something with this and that like some artist but with less of another thing. Subgenres definitely help with that.
>>134784 They're so specific that you get nothing out of them and you need to decode them to even try
So you're saying that hobbies and art should never be deeper than the most simple to understand surface level? Are you suggesting it would be better if people described the difference between Literally Skrillex and Literally Taylor Swift by describing the exact differences between the music they make? I don't want to have to explain that one of them uses a popular 4/4 rhythm with catchy hooks and talented vocals to create everyman simple listening music while the other incorporates heavy synthesizer noise and distortion to create a polyrhythm against a two-step beat and electronic background
because that's way harder than saying she sings Pop and he makes Dubstep
>>134799 I wouldn't say it's a sign of being bad at naming things, it's more of trying to clarify the overarching genre. There's a decent difference between, say, stoner metal and doom metal, even if they are still highly similar. When you get into the "death metal" and "black metal" though, I get confused. But there's also folk metal, classical metal, classic metal, etc. It's describing the other influences next to just "metal".
>>134809 My biggest issue with music genres is that I don't like the names of the new ones. Or rather, I don't like the names of the ones I started to hear about long after I figured "this is rock, that is metal" "Nah, that's not simply rock, that's igneous." But the genres do a decent job at sorting itself, which is well and good. UNLIKE RPGS
If you listen to a lot of artists that makes similar music, and also a lot of those artists make slightly different music, or maybe they change their musical direction over the course of their career you need words to describe those differences
Def Lepard and Motorhead are both rock bands but they type of rock they make is very different
