amusing trailer, completely not showing the three main characters

I think it will Even in that trailer there's a lot of internal architecture which is different from LotR And WoT is interesting because there's a lot of hodgepodge of cultures in a relatively small geographical region So as they visit different locales the show will at least show off a vario of manmade visual identities

>>977585 Dune, the original novel, is a very well-written novel that plays with The Hero's Journey and explores ideas of precognition and the weight of knowing what the future has in store, what it means to see one's life not just in the present but also every memory of your past and future It's also a fun very Hamlet-tian revenge plot and builds a very believable desert planet and what that would bode for the people and the cultures that arise from it The septology and later books written in part by the author's son diverge more in theme and material but as a whole they construct a very realized galaxy-spanning world and, at least within the books written by the original author, belay a story with a lot of attention to detail and complex construction I think the series deserves its place as one of science fiction's greats

>>977839 damn, I hope you had a good time, at least you escaped the soul crushing reality of work, the kind of reality many people complain about anyways but yeah, I feel like, can't escape the nicotine either I meant I feel you >>977839 huh, interesting to see you say unemployment being so stressful, but it makes sense, I don't really have enough perspective to judge it though but people on the other end of the spectrum are going to say the exact same thing, work is too stressful >>977841 yeah, makes sense, it hard to feel like living a purposeful life if you just leech off somebody, but I do it regardless >>977841 damn dude, some nice gains I've had people tell me the best kind of investment is one you can let sit for a long long time without having to panic withdraw sometime in the future, it does actually accumulate given enough time, for most investments anyways
s c
By going on full survival rations for everything though, I was able to squirrel away a LITTLE bit of money, which I dumped into cryptocoins because fuck it why not TECHNICALLY, I can rely on my mom for money pretty far, I'm her only kid and all, and she's relatively well off, but I don't like asking for money
I think I've dumped like $400 or so total into this shit, and while there have been losses and gains here and there, right now my choices have led to a $1K balance Which is pretty sick
Those $400 would have gone to booze at the time either way, so this is way better lol
s c
Yeah I mean if you wanna dump some change into something, cryptos like solana are fairly solid Like, it's hot shit right now, just absolutely pumping like it just found oil or something, it's been an insane few days, but even beyond that, you can generate compound interest by just staking it and then forgetting about it for however long you want As long as it doesn't deteriorate in value, you're walking away with a decent interest It's what I've done, and so far it's netted me like, $17 And it's only been staked for a few months
yuyuko
>>977842 indeed, I guess there are coins that literally die with any investments going towards zero and becoming stagnant, but it doesn't happen too often I guess, especially for the already established coins I might dump some of my change after what you said, it sounds pretty interesting >>977844 you never hear of coins that are actually useful besides BTC and XMR personally I was going to buy some XMR during some dip just to have it, because it's at least more stable than other coins and because it would be nice to have some on hand in case I wanted to order certain things yeah BTC is pretty bland, but people still like to speculate with it
s c
Solana's kinda Cool and Good because in literally every technical specification, it absolutely creams all the other coins currently out there It's competitive with fucking VISA in terms of transactions per second meanwhile ETH, the big hotness, only does uh 15
BTC doesn't even do anything, practically every single other coin actually like, does something or other Like run programs or some shit, most of it directly tied into investing so it's kinda a bubble, tho
Somewhere out there in the ether is an old wallet of mine with BTC worth maybe a grand or two lmao I had the private keys, but I didn't see that shit going up, I just bought it to buy weed on silk road
yuyuko
>>977846 wow, you're the second person here who has his fortune locked away how does it keep happening lmao
s c
her* but yeah, I mean most nerds about our age probably have a horror story about having bitcoins worth a couple grand that are just lost to the fucking ether lmao
yuyuko
>>977848 I probably would too, if I hadn't been too lazy to do anything with crypto, feels weird in retrospect just having watched the whole thing go down >>977850 you can say that but it's still difficult when you actually live in that moment to recognize what you need to do besides, darknet markets are still going very strong and countless are being made all the time, you could just for example get in the business of making one or whatever and yeah, maybe you would've lost the keys =D now we're full circle
s c
I mean shit if I'd been born a few years earlier, I'd probably be a megamillionaire right now Just the potential of illegal shit like silk road had me going "this shit gonna bang" But when bitcoins were genuinely cheap, I did not have the literal ability to buy stuff online >>977849 No I mean I fuckin' knew, and would have blown money on it
I'd likely have lost the wallet tho eventually
yuyuko
>>977850 I guess another moral of the story is that if you had spare cash you would have an easier time jumping on trains like the initial crypto boom
s c
Yeah Most crypto should burn to the ground though, absolutely godawful shit But I'm not opposed to siphoning some money out of awful stuff, it's not like I can stop it
yuyuko
>>977852 it's futile to reject the entire concept because it might be connected to shady business besides, it's pretty odd how the government cares so much about certain substances >>977854 lmao
in any case, I adore the images you post, thenk ~w~
s c
I don't care about the crime at all lmao ransomwaring the pipelines was Good, Actually
s c
I'm just going through my hydrus I really should get around to tagging this shit but I save images faster than I can tag them cause I end up distracted all the time
yuyuko
>>977855 okay, I've already asked this once in this place but I don't think I heard your answer, do you actually painstakingly tag all the shit yourself? or do you use the deep whatever auto tagging utility I would love if you could tell me how you do it, because I would love to use hydrus myself but I was too lazy to come up with a way to organize it all >I really should get around to tagging I mean, do you not use tags at all? I would say folders are better at that point then >>977857 oh I see I see well, you see, I already keep a huge music library where I already went to great lengths to have it organized, it would destroy my soul to have to do it for images as well props on having a system that works for you however
s c
Partially I mean I tagged like maybe 5K or more initially, actually it's probably closer to 10-15K now manually, but I did run an automatic thing that's cut down how long it takes, but I still gotta go through them all before archiving, removing bad tags, purging tags I don't want to have there at all, assigning siblings to tags I use differently, and adding missed tags
It's useful for automatically syncing my phone wallpapers and stuff, is really the main reason I keep it up
MOST of my images are untagged though I've got like 5K tagged, due to database corruptions and other bullshit through the years, and uh, nearing 50K untagged Well, they're still TAGGED, strictly speaking, so they're searchable, but they haven't been reviewed so they're not archived and aren't being synced to the folders I've set up or anything
yuyuko
>>977857 with so many images it must be terribly hard to actually have them all reviewed why can life not be easier
auto tagging seems like the way to go how much redundant work must be done by image collection curators everywhere that could be coordinated and distributed ala booru but with individual collections
Kirara 🍄 大医 /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
i remember where all of my images are i can find something without much effort by sorting by date and then going through because i recall images i saved in reference to other images, dating back maybe 5 years?
yuyuko
>>977861 agreed, the booru hivemind is actually very impressive, but it doesn't work when you curate your own library >>977862 it was the same for me initially, but now my average lookup time is just too damn high
s c
>>977861 There's already the PTR But it's both ENORMOUS, and its rules for tagging are different than mine
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
>>977864 oh that's cool but it looks like you have to sync the entire DB ouch
s c
Yeah, that's the thing It's like, 50GB or some shit?
The DOWNLOAD isn't the problem, you can do that in a day or two on any reasonable modern internet connection (not mine) Slotting into hydrus is the issue, it will work your HDD to the bone
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
who in their right mind would HDD i get it tho yeah i mean i run an ethereum node and it is very hungry for resources
s c
dude my "savings" "account" is a crypto speculation project valued at $1K up from $400 or some shit a month ago, why the fuck do you think I've got HDDs?
Anno
>>977862 This is how I do it too And if I don't remember the image, it's obviously not important
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
oh no im wielding my privilege rip i wonder if SSDs will end up super expensive with all these component shortages
Kirara 🍄 大医 /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
just steal a bunch of SSDs
s c
I'm just being spiky
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
looks like hydrus is a GUI application i bet it's got some weird performance problems who knows how do they deal with spammers tho
s c
it's got an API Performance wise I haven't ever run into any real problems beyond it really creaming my drives when I backup the database
spammers? The PTR you mean? I think it's not flat like pancake, but more hierarchical like pancake with a little bit of a pyramid in the middle
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
but like anyone can sync up and start tagging stuff right
s c
Yeah I think so I'm not sure how it works tbh, cause I've never spent time with it
also moe breaks if you open \\\ a post opens while you're zoomed in which on a regular size 4K monitor is kind of a necessity >>977877 Maybe it's only specific zoom levels
Kirara 🍄 大医 /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
Does it? I view /moe/ at 200% on every computer I use it and have for a few years. ToN and Pan were makin fun of me for it when they were here.
these fuckin' german jojo fuckers are relentless, man for reasons I don't understand, they decided I got one of them banned on twitter, so now they've decided I'm public enemy number one or some shit and keep making accounts to shitpost at me
god I fucking hate weebs
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
oh god this was a mistake i added a "big" theme to the theme list but its super jank
Samu /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
maybe if i fixed this up it would be good for phone usage and make the menu button beeg
>>977900 it's pretty funny, I found this place while reading https://chen2.org/realtime_paper.html it's surprisingly cozy in here, I hope you guys don't mind my presence
s c
generally I don't like new people, but you seem ok
on another note, I can't stop rewatching steins;gate, why is this show so amazing and why is there nothing like it maybe it's just nostalgia, being one of the first good shows I've seen
what do you guys recommend?
>>977905 you should, although it doesn't compare to the original one, but it's a pleasant experience rewatching the original one and inserting the second season as a midquel where it belongs >>977905 lol, I didn't obsess around anime when I saw steins;gate but it captivated me back then also thanks for the recs, I still haven't seen eva although everyone on this planet is saying it's a good show, I should seriously get to watching it sometimes >Considering you came from a 2hu background, I find it hard to believe why is that?
s c
I should probably finish the second season sometime
Considering you came from a 2hu background, I find it hard to believe steins;gate is the first good show you watched lain, black lagoon, flcl, eva are all easy recommendations though but like, everyone's seen 3 of thos 4

>>977905 Hey I ffoffound that cheap ppcpcPCI neural network asic https://www.wdlsystems.com/Innodisk-EMPA-I101-mPCIe-to-Single-Intel-Movidius-Myriad-X-AI-Module-w-Heatsink I'm 90% sure it can run deepdanbooru >>977907 I mentioned this when we were discussing using neural networks to automagically tag anime images
s c
it might be the rum, but I have no idea what you're talking about rei
yuyuko
>>977907 I'm pretty sure he means me, we discussed it the other day >>977906 that's pretty amazing, I'll have a look, thanks >>977909 /jp/ is still a bit of a hellhole, I got into it the traditional way by finding the bullet hells and getting absorbed into the universe, 2hu is very big after all
s c
>>977904 2hu is rarely the first place you end up as you get stuck in the weeb world unless you went to /jp/ because it's less of a hellhole than /r9k/ while still having a similar atmosphere
ㅤFormerRei@mobile
vtubers kind of ruined /jp/ I mean I also think 3D idols ruined /jp/ too But vtubers really put the nail in the coffin
yuyuko
>>977910 yeah, definitely the idols never took much space in the board but the vtubers, vtubers man.. >>977913 yeah, well, that's true, death to all the vtuber threads I thought they got their own board? how come /jp/ is still this infested? it was nice to have a 2hu haven but man
>>977911 Because when they made /vm/, /vt/ and /vrpg/ they didn't make rules saying those subjects could not be discussed on other boards.
s c
I will sleep but only because tomorrow is important I usually just sleep like 10-12 hours every other day, honestly

>>977904 idk have you seen Promare? umm robotics;notes is nowhere near as good as steins gate how about uhh Tatami Galaxy Ping Pong The Animation i dont know what these have to do with steins;gate they're just random recs really old standbys
s c
duhuhu posting
yuyuko
>>977919 I haven't, but it looks cool tatami galaxy is also on my plan to watch ;w; there is just too much to watch and I realize I'm wasting my time rewatching steins;gate >>977922 darker than black was nice, but not too amazing >>977919 all of those shows have some nice qualities but they're not the kind of show steins;gate really is
ㅤFormerRei@mobile
>>977921 There's also Darker Than Black s1 And >>977923 And uh Hellsing Ultimate
s c
you could watch kemono friends that was pretty fun
>>977927 They're not wrong But it used to have more Touhou
yuyuko
>>977924 nice recursion >>977927 lol, kind of true, but even if it was already unsalvageable, somehow it got worse >>977925 it had some nice 2hu threads every once in a while

the evaporative cooling effect never goes away everything turns to vapor and vapes away

how do they even rent space in your vierw

yuyuko
>>977974 well, fair, but imagine how many more hours you could have lost I think I got 500h in pokemon black 2 alone pokemon go is not really pokemon w.w
yuyuko
>>977975 well, it is, but it was such a disappointment back then, you couldn't do the things that define pokemon properly, the focus was all on running around and catching them, they couldn't even stock 4 different moves it probably changed by now but I'll never forget my disappointment

Michael K Williams died I went through his full filmography and determined that I have not seen any movie he was in. And probably not any tv episode he was in except for maybe Law and Order, CSI or a spin off.
yuyuko
>>977977 fair, but it could have been cooler I just wanted to run around and do the sames things as in the games >>977978 lol what, it's real by the same guys behind pokemon go..
