The Bronze and Silver rooms favour East by a large margin but it seems the Gold rooms almost entirely swap that around

Yeah, I think right around gold room is the skill threshold where people start feeling like they have some control over their games, and prefer to have it longer and less random
playing east is fun and it's quicker and lower-committal for the general feel-good of hand building and tile efficiency and stuff, but "fold to threats and wait for a good opportunity" is not very fitting when you each only have one dealer round and it's so short

the players who have really strong tile efficiency seem to like to grind in east too since they're playing statistical margins and those games are over faster
south is more the patient and immersed players who want to see a full game out and have more enjoyment than people rushing 1k open hands and ending as fast as possible
the east meta doesn't let you play in a very enjoyable way at a certain point

put another way, if people in silver played more south then a lot of them wouldn't be in silver and would have moved up to gold
east is more newbie friendly and friendly towards casual noncompetitive play, since the "casual room" queue is a joke that nobody uses

I still like the East rooms
South is a lot of time to devote to a game
Plus with work at my job calming down a bit I've found I can sneak in a game or two, at least when I have my charge cable with me because the MS app burns through battery like a mother fucker

My biggest problem right now is with the thermostat irregularly going AWOL it's hard to persuade the building contractors it's actually broken
Like a thermostat that randomly goes offline for random amounts of time is not a working device!
And they were in here earlier during Tuesday afternoon to take a look at it, but when they came in the device was working, so they just shut my windows, turned the set temperature on the device down, and left
