I might have made progress on fixing the problem with housing. I floated the idea of hiring two techs per house and have them do alternating 3 12s and 4/12s to get coverage for the houses. And I commented on the extra cost, and he was like "hmm, well it's not that much more than what we're doing. Only like 3x the cost" and i was like "haha ok" i didn't say it but saying 3x cost is not much more is kind of crazy to me but i won't complain if i can get coverage for my houses

She might be drunk, or tired, it is pretty early in the morning in Japan. Though she also has a bit of a "bad" voice for singing, by her own admission. She's also improved a lot since she started doing regular singing streams! The first times she did songs like Evanescence's Bring Me To Life or some of her Katy Perry regulars she was pretty off pitch or couldn't carry some of the longer notes. But her practice has been really paying off.

The house that I had tested for mold came back positive for spores in the air. So I tried to move the two people in that building into other places, but they ended up not moving when I told them to. Now one of them has tested positive for covid. Which means they have to quarantine there.
So how am I supposed to get mold remediation done if someone is quarantining with the plague in there?!

Well if they knew they had to move because of fungal infestation and chose to not, I think the responsibility is on them for the risk. They're adults, they should understand that remaining in a spore-filled space is a health risk. And you gave them the opportunity to move out from it. I dunno, I get you don't want to leave them in that environment but the jaded dick in me figures they're responsible for chancing this.
Alternatively maybe you could convince them to fumigate the place themselves since they have to be quarantined in it anyway.
I think it's more like he didn't get around to it yet. I asked the tech to move him, but that didn't happen yet. The benefit of that is that he's only living with one other person which means the quarantine doesn't necessarily affect everyone else in the bigger house.
My concern is more that the mold can continue to get worse over the next two weeks while they're quarantining there. I don't personally care if they're exposed to the mold because it isn't bad enough right now to be damaging to them. Although I wouldn't live there lol
One of the two people there is a house manager. I tried to move him, and he called me to say he didn't want to move. So I said he didn't have to as long as he understood the risks of living there. He told me he doesn't have to worry about it because mold doesn't affect him, his body is different from other people's. Then he started laughing really hard and said "unless they are already affecting my brain and that's why I'm so angry all the time".
I don't know if you can fumigate for mold while people are living there. I'll have to talk to my mold guy tomorrow.

Also the three metre cable is still in the headphone's box which is buried in a box of other boxes which is somewhere up north at my parent's place. The amount of directing I'd need to do to get them to go find it and bring it back feels like a headache. It would be easier to just get another small cable online and have it shipped up there and brought back here. Either way I'm stuck with annoying audio again until at least next Monday morning, ugh.

In a win for randomly poking and prodding at things to see if it fixes them, I might've resolved the low hot water pressure problem this condo's shower was having. A few days back it went out for some reason, leaving you with either hot water or low water pressure coming out of the shower and not both. But I was poking at the shower head and faucet switch and faucet dial and either -something- I did worked or whatever problem it was having just chose that opportune moment to resolve itself.

Which shortly after prompted the shower thought of, when it comes to small things like this, trying to fix water pressure, I can try my hand at little things I have zero expectation of working out. But when it's big things, or stuff that feels complicated, I'm frozen to inaction by my zero expectations. And I mean it's not like there were no consequences to me prodding around at the shower applicances. I could've seriously broke the dial or switch, or less seriously made the pressure problem even worse. Why is it that those consequences feel inconsequential when others are beyond intimidating.

Sure the highway is always pretty backed up and slow this time of night but honestly the drivers don't make better time going for the streets instead. Like most conspiracy theorists his stuff kinda went from being silly and innocuous to actually weird and somewhat problematic. Hopefully he reins it in before it goes actually problematic.
He's been like that for a few years now. He thinks I agree with him on a lot of that stuff, actually. The first time he told me about it all, I was barely paying attention, and you know, it started off with stuff I agree with like money in politics and corruption and stuff. As far as I know, just Uber. In the end I lost less money arriving late than I would've taking a Lyft Plus I'd have to install and set up the app too.
It's neat that Xbox sponsored HoloEN to play the game but it seems like it came at the caveat of playing the English dub and oof English voice actors as always sound really weird pronouncing Japanese names. Maybe George had a better time with it since it's his nationality though

yeah, that would be pretty awesome would require a lot of coordination between the devs and the localization team though since usually localization comes pretty far after the japanese version

Miyazaki always comes off as a curmudgeonly old dick these days. I can respect his work of the past and he's definitely a creative genius of cinema broadly, not just animation, but man. He's fallen deep into cynical assholery instead of trying to pass on the knowledge he's accumulated.

The Uber app still is being a bit wonky, though at least this time it found me a driver quickly. But it wouldn't tell me the driver's name or plate number, and wasn't showing how far they were from me. And since there was a bunch of us waiting there for Ubers to pick us up it created a bit of a funny skit where a car would pull up and we'd have to quiz the driver on who they were for, and then send off the employee who was being picked up.
But I do hope it's working normally again by tomorrow morning.
