I got a text from Tony Hawk, and I saw the name and I'm like "haha what?" before I remembered that I'm on his mailing list. So I open the text and it says Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 are officially being brought back and will be announced soon! "Original maps, original skaters and songs from the original soundtrack, plus new features!"
I enjoyed the second season of SNACKS - the anime Although there was a slight shift in tone from the first season They phased out some of the wacky skits in favour of a more structured narrative But that was fine. It actually worked well In fact, I'd argue that the more dramatic/emotional moments towards the end of the series had much more of an impact than if it had been a dramatic series Because it was such a contrast from the usual light-hearted comedy. And you felt for the characters a bit more.
I thought the addition of the onee-san worked well for the show too, It's easy to mess things up when you add a new character like that which can shift the dynamics of the show But she fit right in. 7/10 Would eat Snacks again.
THIS HAS BEEN Marsh-chan's anime review.

one of the supervisors is too incompetent to leave alone the guy who would be here next week is still out from being hospitalized from C19. My week off was shifted because of him the first time. Technically, if things werent shifted, I'd be off THIS week. But he wanted the first week off and he has seniority so he got it. That wasnt reallly a problem for me then. but now he's actually out sick. and all the office people who know how to run things are out the week after.
So as the guy without seniority, my week off is being bumped again.
Anno
Yeah that's really shitty. Seniority can be such a lousy way to organize things, man.
Choux
its funny because the other guy argued to take my week because he'd be the only one here. but as soon as the first two weeks ended, one of the other office workers came bck from surgery rest. but me and him are now set to the same week because of my shifting and i gotta get shifted again
Choux
If I was still on the tracks, this wouldnt be happening.
Anno
Is avoiding this worth working on the tracks though?
Choux
yes
Choux
i dont know if ive explained this but the queens corridor is along stretch. Im on one of the far ends of it. My gang rarely does actual rail work because of this. the office prefers to send the people in the middle stations out to rail jobs and my gang does switch inspections like 4 out of 5 days in a week. All I do is stand around and signal when a train is coming. The few times we do rails, I just do what I'm good at. tilting the rails, lagging them down, etc. and when the wrk is done, i can take a nap for like 2-3 hours. I cant sleep here. There's always something happening and its filled with people asking annoying questions and not answering mine like yesterday was a whole fucking ordeal of a problem that cpok could* have been avoided if you just SENT ME THAT ONE FUCKING EMAIL MONTHS AGO

THATS WHATS WRITTEN IN THE EMAIL SEND. IT. TO. ME.
Anno
Maybe I fundamentally misunderstand work culture but if you're looking to take a nap at your workplace I feel you're looking in the wrong places to begin with.
Choux
no you arent allowed to sleep. but in the original place i stayed, i could have lots of extended prayer time
Choux
also fuck work culture
Anno
Man I dunno. Being frank I think it's not really your workplace's responsibility to look after your capacity to get sleep. Unless they are literally not giving you enough time to leave and go home, sleep there, and make it back.
Choux
the sleep part is less important than the mismanagement part thats more of a "damn, i could have went out on the tracks, got work done in a few hours, head back to sit on call for accidents, ad take a good nap" i dont have that privilege anymore since im constantly answering phones and emails and filling out paperwork.
and my downtime, like right now, isnt because i dont have work to do, its because the work that I need to do has gaps that I cant fill and the people who caa can help are not. so im just sitting here until things fall apart and they want a replay of how they fucked it up for both of us.

I think a bunch of Internet denizens tend to think meme stuff is universal or something. Which, to be fair, the literal meaning of being memetic does kind of imply.

>>840400 But Raymond scammers aren't Raymond fans being insufferable that's just people taking advantage of Raymond fans. And if they're being insufferable because they're being scammed then I kinda think there's at least a partial justification there.
These people demanding others have villagers move out for them are being really ignorant of how hard it is to intentionally get someone to move out though. Like there's a several day long timer between villagers musing whether they want to move out or not and while maybe it rotates between villagers I don't think it rotates in any discernible order. The other alternative is to have someone in your campsite move in and replace someone but they pick a random villager to swap with and if it's not the one you want to move out you've got to savescum by resetting in the middle of the conversation they suggest the swapee since the game will auto-save as soon as the conversation closes and the swapee will be locked at that point. It's so much work to intentionally get a villager to move out.
>>840407 I know you like to be sneery and jeery when people are taking things seriously that you don't but I'm not interested in how serious they're taking the game I'm bothered that they disregard the actual mechanics involved in them being able to get what they want.
>>840409 but I procrastinated granblue's current event until three hours ago
it's not about them just taking it seriously it's about saying something like "hey you have this character uh get rid of them you don't deserve them as much as I do?" it's like dude fuck olff
I mean the idea of one of my crew members in particular that I uhhhhhh what's the word leer at? hold in contempt? Might be too strong a word anyway they're super bandwagony and the thought of them completing making Nier makes me grimace periodically and that's a silly thing but I'm not going to like dm him and say he can't do it I'll just post puke emojis when it comes up as a topic
Anno
I think the fact alone that you even think something like that doesn't make you much better than someone who actively tells people off for having a character they like and don't think the other deserves. They're all just fictional characters.
>>840413 No, but you're equally being stupid about digital characters. Who the fuck cares if they've jumped on a bandwagon. if they're enjoying themselves playing the game and have accomplished a difficult (though grindiness isn't really difficulty, just a timesink) task, the non-asshole reaction should be to wholly be enthusiastic for their accomplishment. You're still being kind of an asshole for having those thoughts, the only difference is you're not directly expressing them to the person.
Besides, unlike that person, I've been in a discord with this person for like 2-3 years and have a general understanding of their personaltiy. Their bandwagonning in general, not just Nier, is something that bothers me. He's among the folk quick to complain just about anything
It's not THAT bad but like if someone goes "I love x thing I love x thing" and then y thing happens and then they're all over y thing, that's kinda eeehhh isn't it? I take pride in being guy who loves one element really hard
Anno
What's so bad about bandwagoning anyway. If people jump on a bandwagon and are enjoying themselves, why not welcome them.
>>840417 Nope. Not in the slightest. Different people form different attachements to things and they should be allowed to be as attached to that thing as long as they want to be.
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
Like this guy jumps ship in terms of element so much that the leader of the crew put a command in his bot that you type and it has a randomly selected element that guy is supposed to main every day
Anno
That feels like you guys being kind of a dick to the guy rather than any fault of his own. Again, who cares if they want to jump from element to element, as long as they're enjoying themselves. >>840421 A friendly dicking
If this is being a dick to the guy what the heck do you guys call all the shit you guys give me
Anno
In a somewhat more serious answer, if this is in particular to the way yo go hard on your adoration of fictional characters, then it's in part a friendly ribbing, but also I think a lot of the time us trying to tell you that you're getting more than a bit disillusioned about the whole thing.
The fact that you are so apathetic about it being an actual problem makes it more a worried reaction to boot.
Oh boy don't worry I actively know I'm a bit touched in the head with this sort of thing. Like part of it is for show, and part of it I actively acknowledge as "haha that's not a good thing"
>go check >I'm the fourth longest current member of the granblue crew that's wild

like what I was going to say in that reply as well is that while I'm the fourth longest member of this crew, I'm also 3rd from the bottom or so in terms of in-game rank/level. *literally everyone in this crew plays this game more than me*
in fact you're right about one thing in that there are parts of granblue I treat like aj ob
Guild wars is fucking boring as all hell and every fix they try to do to it is making // not fixing the issue but the rewards are far too valuable to someone who actually plays this game, so it benefits me to participate so I follow the leader orders and do my minimum effort that they ask for that's basically the definition of a job innit?
if i recall right the image set in general was pretty good
月
looks like no anime tonight? i ought to go to sleep anyway
Anno
Might be. Not sure where Rika is. There's only like five shows to watch and two coming tomorrow so eh, no real rush I guess. Would have liked to watch Tower of God thoughhhh
I'm going to go to bed but I'll apologize for interruptting you. However it's worth mentioning that I wish I had like the contibution scores from last GW or something It's to a degree that saying I treat granblue like a job in comparison to people who unironically stay up all night grinding during guild war or day 1 farm new content to get new items immediately is almost insulting.
>>840435 I can understand why you'd conflate treating the game as a job and playing it intensively as the same thing but in my eyes they're two different behaviours, or at least not necessarily so. Again, I was at least one degree removed from the actual details, so understand from the information I had, someone that locks themselves into one channel of the game's content, versus someone who regularly jumps from channel to channel and gets to experience a broader selection, between these two the latter feels more like someone playing the game than the other.
And perhaps this isn't the case but it's felt at times there are things you do in GranBlue because it's an obligation or because you're compelled to complete it without any real reward for doing so. To me these aren't characteristics of enjoying a game, it's playing the game out of an obligation to play it. Maybe the both of you do this but if it's something that brings satisfaction and enjoyment then it doesn't matter how much time is being put into it. It's once it stops being a game with game-like reward and satisfaction that I start to make points about it.
I'll add that it's not like I don't play other elements and do content with those elements. Some content in granblue is even being locked to using those elements by means of making it infeasible to do damage without them. However, I do love dark the most, both characters and how I'm able to play it. I want my dark to be the best it can be outside of shelling out even more money or doing in-game content at a rate I don't want to do (looking at you Tiamat Malice)
I would agree with some stuff feeling like an obligation. I'll add more about gw in a second to give more context, but if I don't feel like grinding a particular element, but the upcoming GW mandates I use that element, then if my mood doesn't improve I'll feel obligated to fix it as opposed to bettering it naturally. Fortunately I'm at a late game state in which all of my elements are at least usable.
Now as for GW itself, I can appreciate on some level the power of being able to shut off your brain and grind GW, but GW is as follows. There's 6 regular fights, the first four are completely trivial, and then EX which you need to one turn to unlock EX+. These are all easily soloable and pretty manageable. Then with materials from those earlier fights you can do the hard "nightmare ones". The last two sets are raids you can do with your crew. The point of all this is you get "honors" points for clearing these raids. These points are scored both individually and for your crwe as a whole.
Guild Wars is "how many times can you clear this exact same fight repeatedly until you score more points than the opposing crew and win" Cygames devs are even being weird about this because they ALMOST removed rewards for grinding too many "tokens" which also come from these raids, cutting it off at 44 boxes worth, and yet they added more rewards for honors grinded individually. All in all it's just unfun, at least for someone like me. If you're able to find joy in doing the exact same fight -
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
over and over with no variation, or maybe I guess if you really want to min max the hell out of it and find joy in optimizing, then I guess that's a good thing. But people who settle for that I would argue damage the health of the game itself because most players aren't gonig to want to do that. At least that's what I believe. The rewards for Guild Wars are the only reasons I would do it.
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
one good thing they did with GW is they cute the competing fight day sfrom 5 to 4 days, and then day 5 is a raid you just do with your crew for really nice rewards however, the fight itself isn't exactly hard even at the highest difficulty, which is unlocked by grinding those numbers of course, it just has an ungodly amount of hp it's a slog, gw is just a slog that gets you nice things.
Anno
Yeah but what can you put those nice things towards? Correct me if I'm wrong but they're not exactly adding broad new stages of difficulty to the game, are they. And unlike some MMOs there isn't really a rich PVP culture to the game.
It feels like there's only completing endgame content to complete the same endgame content.
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
Guild Wars is the only reliable source of what was one but now two things: Sunstones, which are used to uncap summons (SSRs) but now also are required to finish Arcarum summons, necessarily to obtain Evokers (like Nier). and Evolites, which are also used to obtain Evokers.
There are some available in the Arcarum shop, but those run out and haven't been restocked in basically ever.
What's important about Sunstones is, evokers aside, uncapping summons that aren't just event ones is paramount to progression in granblue at this point if not just at all.
They've also, on the note of endgame content, been adding new fights that use their new 2.0 battle system, and those are honestly pretty interesting. They'll soon, covid aside, be adding a raid that's on par with the hardest raid in the game with that system in place.
Instead of the kind of PVP that GW offers I'd honestly prefer a more creative kind of thing you do with your crew members or something. Maybe more like the big raid boss at the end of GW, but not just an hp sponge. And don't lock the super good stuff at the highest point but put things that aren't worthless for the people who really try hard either.
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
there were a couple too many negatives there.
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
as for me enjoying granblue, it's important that when I exclaimed that I love my wife Nier the other day, it was because I cleared Ubaha HL' raid solo for the first time and Nier clutched the win at the last second
