Well the semester's starting up soon so I need to learn to not be a slacker and figure out how to get engaged and focused on course material since that didn't work out too well last year. I'm also approaching definitely brokeness fast so I also need to find a source of income and that combined with the stress of knowing I might have a hard time focusing on classwork is worriesome. My time management isn't great to begin with and so juggling all those responsibilities feels like a very tall order. Putting out job applications is a stressful thing for me in the first place so adding on all of this extra pressure is really rough And the only real friend I've made in the year and previous year of night classes at uni has moved out to Scotland for at least a year or more abroad. Scratch that, not only real friend, only friend. So, as someone that has a hard time figuring out how to initiate conversation and doesn't know how to be a sociable human bean I'm a little fretful about facing a degree of social isolation within the school environment. I do have a handful of friends outside it but they're mostly all working adults now and we've only really reconnected in the past year after a decade about so they've got their own social circles they navigate and I don't know how to prompt them myself to go do things together, never mind that because of the aforementioned brokeness I have a hard time persuading myself I should -want- to find something for us to go do because I barely have the money to spend on what I need to spend it on as is.

Either way even just being in the water, treading, is gonna burn energy and help develop your muscles. When I was a kid at the cottage my brother and summer cottage friends would just go swim out into the lake a bit and tread water there for hours on end. I think I underestimated how much exercise I got out of that and what I lost once I stopped going out to the cottage all that much.

you can buy them in the shop with coppers too but i never have a lot of coppers i guess i could grind some coppers in silver rooms but i lost // lose a ton in gold hitting 4th place once negates like three 1st places of coppers but thankfully the rank progress is more forgiving than that

I've bounced back up into a decent supply of coppers. The two summer events back to back netted me a good bit, and I had a strong run that got me pretty close to ranking up to Adept-3 that boosted my supply too. It's probably still not really enough to spend carelessly on stuff from the shop but I'm no longer dancing at the amount too low to let me play in the Silver room.
after my rank crash back down to adept 1 i had the hardest time climbing back to adept 3 but since getting in gold rooms, silver rooms feel so free
if you use any defensive play at all you're almos guaranteed 2nd place or better and should be able to coast through south matches at a steady pace don't bother with riichi when you have particularly big hands, as the one extra han isn't worth sacrificing the flexibility i only use riichi when it's mandatory to complete the hand for the yaku most of the time

I like playing a little carelessly because it's fun to risk it. I guess if I ever got fed up with it I could cut back a bit on it, but I'm not in any huge rush to rank up. I was sixty points from getting to Adept-3 and then had a bit of a rough stretch and now I'm 225 points shy. I also get a little turned off playing during the day when there's only like a hundred to two hundred people playing per room; I feel I don't get a lot of people that are very fun to play with. So usually it's only at night or in the evening that I find it particularly fun to play.

Back when I was first learning and playing only AI matches I had a couple nights of laying in bed playing it on my phone. Honestly it's pretty manageable but I don't know if I want the gravity of a ranked match with it. I'd rather have an app designed to run with the OS than a web app.
