This expo for working/studying/volunteering internationally has been pretty neat. I picked up a bunch of flyers and information on English teaching abroad (JET even had a booth set up) and I got some good advice from one of the organization that set up the expo on potential routes to establish oneself as a potential international journalism correspondent/freelancer.
Anyways I suggest not looking much further into it. I was reading the kiwifarms thread on it and its really really graphic. And I didn't even see any pictures, just descriptions of them and descriptions of videos. I'm gonna go read manga about cute girls doing cute things.

The friends I met up with from high school months back were a lot of fun to talk with, but despite saying we'd try and get together more over the summer, well, you can probably guess the rest. Which was pretty much what my expectations were but that doesn't really make it satisfying.
I'd like to, for lack of a less mechanical term, resume communication and maybe even talk about getting together again, but that sort of social initiative is something I've long since let other people handle and is kind of something foreign to me. I don't even know what to ask. To just hang out? Where? Is it fine to talk about getting together without a particular thought in mind? This sort of social nuance isn't really present in online social forums so I 'm definitely out of my water on it.

And since you're together after the movie, the next outing becomes a more collaborative decision where you figure out a good thing to do next together, which saves the anxiety of finding a reason to hang out again.

Venom is now in theaters, but that kind of movie is more hit-or-miss for something like this.
Oh, there's also The Meg which is a parody of b-movies. It's supposed to be really funny.

When I in high school they were friends I'd made through the anime club so that and games were kind of the culture spheres we had back then. I know they don't really follow much of anime anymore though. We talked a bit about the MCU when we met up months back but I don't recall how invested they were in the stuff. So my loans have finally come out of Income Driven Repayment and have gone back to displaying the usual minimums. I've been paying more than the minimum for the past 4 months so it's nothing to me. But the thing I just noticed on it is that they didn't just "leave it" at the amount I decided to pay. They took my current monthly payment, and then ADDED the minimum to that amount for both loans. So instead of 300, they almost took 500+ from me

I know for a fact that I'm a worrier. I am a worrying elemental. By this point I just learn to live alongside it and try to not let it take over my brain.
It's like riding with you behind the wheel. There is an inevitability that it's going to make me worry but that doesn't restrict me from enjoying it. School is an environment that provides me with a lot of anxieties but it's also an environment that pushes me to actually try. Balancing my worries with the positives has helped me deal with it I've found, at least.
It's nice to see you and Kannagi confronting your anxieties a bit. I'm really proud of y'all.

One of the guys I talked to at the expo today for working/studying abroad had some really solid advice for breaking into international journalism. He mentioned a lot of the people he'd known that got picked up for magazines and publications were volunteer workers that were already on the ground in those parts of the world and shopped pieces they wanted to do to get in as a freelance submissions. It was pretty valuable advice and certainly more personally applicable than what I expected to get from the event.

I also talked with a representative from the JET program as well as a couple other organizations for teaching English in parts of Asia, like Thailand or China.
One of them even had a program for going abroad to China during the summer for an expenses paid placement for English teaching. And an option available for that program allows me to get a certificate for teaching English as a second language so that for more permanent positions liek -like the one JET providesm -provides, I wouldn't have to wait until I had a certificate, or pay for it, since the Chinese program incorporates it into the expenses. It's a really persuasive opportunity, but it's also the one that gave me the most red flags of the various organizations that were represented there, so I kind of want to do some research before I consider if I can do it.

I'm not really sold on that narration. That kind of language works for dialogue between characters and stuff like that, but it always ends up feeling kind of campy as narration. The style is pretty neat and the animation looks good.
That looks kind of annoying. Like even more annoying than flies. Having to do up a line of buttons is an unpleasant activity to do a lot of times over.

I like BCS a lot more than BB as well. Current season is a lot different from the previous ones, I feel it's less about building up the characters and explaining how they got to be who they are and more about showing the specific events that did it in a more straightforward manner

I should probably close my window for the season. Or at least at night, where it doesn't seem temperatures will peak above 13C or so. Those temperatures aren't really my kind of relaxation temperatures.
Going to try to sleep. My hope is that sleeping in short bursts will stop me from dreaming.

I myself find the latter easier, since thinking just keeps me awake
