>>421997 To get people to want to buy the next episode? Do you not know how OVAs work?
sk
They released them one episode at a time?
FormerRei@mobile
>>422000 Yes That's literally what OVA are. They release them one (occasionally more) at a time and you have to order them. They didn't air them (not initially). It stands for original video anime Because each episode was originally released on vhs (or laserdisc, which is strictly superior) and you had to order them.

sk
In fairness, you've had like 45 by now Another like 100, and you'd have so many days off you'd only have enough time to work what's necessary
TN !PcAPtAiNJo

every president didn't get a day only The Good Ones did
sk
Oh I assume Lincoln had a day You can't have separate president days without a Lincoln day

TN !PcAPtAiNJo
Yeah it is kinda either selfish as fug or unpatriotic to change your flag for your cause.
sk
"Blue lives matter" as a slogan also literally exists to counter the very idea that black lives matter
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
So to you, cop lives and black lives in USA can't matter at the same time?
Ko-Shi
>>422095 That's the joke, you know. The initial criticism of BLM was that it somehow implied that no one else mattered. Even though BLM was a direct statement against how easy it is for people to get away with ending black lives, especially cops. "Blue Lives Matter" as any kind of statement is both a contradiction to the logic in the first statement and spitting in the face of the second.
sk
Very clearly not, no
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>422096 Dnno when blue lives matter became a thing, but blm quite quickly - atleast the visible protests and such - became quite much "what do we want: dead cops. when do we want them: now"
Ko-Shi
Of course it did. What other kind of message would people want to show you from them?
you see what the people that are against the movement want you to see you see exactly what makes tgem // them illegitimate
Anno
yeah, the best way to discredit a movement you don't like is to pay a busload of people to go incite riots and give it a dismissable perception
Ko-Shi
Like, you say it yourself, youhave no idea when Blue Lives Matter became a thing. But you know of the optics of BLM. Blue Lives Matter came out of police and police supporters wanting to assert that their jobs are hard and "woe is me, the person with the responsibility of knowing when to end a life" It's a direct counter to BLM which has, from the beginning, been about the excesses in violence and callousness towards black lives from police.
They do this all the time. When they choked out, Eric Garner and they turned (BLM) his final words "I can't breathe" into a slogan, cops made hoodies that said "I can breathe".
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
Oh I thought blue lives matter was a typo and an inadvertant joke referencing Blue
Anno
>>422104 no it's about the police force messaging that police lives matter and that there are casualties on both sides of the issue of police violence
Kirara π
blue lives matters people are the same ones trying to incite Black Panther boycotts by spreading lies that black people are attacking white people and telling them they can't see the movie
it's all so ridiculous
TN !PcAPtAiNJo

>>422109 it's broken so many records in the first weekend that it probably is
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
The buzz around it has been amusing at the very least from both sides of the shitmill
Kirara π
everyone who has a trustworthy opinion has said it's a masterpiece i cant wait to see it
Anno
i do criticize BLM quite a bit but not for those reasons i think a lot of their policy-pushing is counterproductive because it calls for so much external aid, rather than reinforcing from within the black communities they're trying to help it's fundamentally a community that grows from within, and external influence is always going to be disruptive and how you get so much police-on-black violence in the first place if the police forces of those communities were fostered through those communities, for instance, they'd be a lot better received by the community than external entities exhibiting authority over a community whose values they do not represent
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>422112 I wouldn't really call a marvel movie masterpiece, though
Ko-Shi
See? You can have all the optics of BLM thrusted at you and a good amount of /moe/ hadn't even known Blue Lives Matter actually existed.
Maria
>>422114 >I wouldn't really call a movie I haven't seen a masterpiece
im really excited about black panther already being so successful it's really significant in a lot of ways
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
Is kinda like assassin's creed or call of duty they can be real good games, look good, be amazing to play etc but i never really would call one a masterpiece atleast the ones so far out.
Ko-Shi
>>422113 Part of the concept of police abolishment is setting up your own community methods of handling problems. It's not a desire for external aid. Externalities appear within the community by themselves. Things like gentrification or the desire to push optics of 'tough on crime' end up grating against these communities and creating tension. All the other stuff like environmental health (Flint) and such are things that... require external aid anyway. Those kinds of things are expected from the government to handle. They just don't handle them.
Kirara π
if you say it can't be a masterpiece because it's part of a franchise that hasn't had any masterpieces yet, that's kind of bad logic
>>422131 So if it turned out to be a 10/10 movie you would call it a masterpiece Which means that you would call a marvel movie a masterpiece
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
Maybe, but I still largely doubt that marvel movie would really be a masterpiece.
Maria
Yeah I doubt it but considering that they've made like 50 of them I reckon that eventually one of them has to come out that happens to be a masterpiece
>>422138 I wonder about that. How many studious do they have working on marvel movies? Is it like, studio A spends a year making movie x then moves onto movie Y, or does Studio A make movie X while studio B starts making movie Y and it gets 2 years of production instead of 1
Anno
When was the last good superhero movie?
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>422136 Maybe if they had more time per production etc, it might happen. but they kinda churn them out too fast for one really to be polished to such decree in terms of all parts of the movie to really fall into place.
Anno
>>422136 Its always Guardians, Cap America or Logan...
Maria
Was Spiderman good? I didn't see that one.
sk
It was alright They got THE GUY to play Peter, but the overall story wasn't exactly fantastic
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>422139 logan isn't really a marvel movie, though
Maria
>>422142 Anno was talking about super hero movies in general
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
oh right >>422136 yeah they have lot of people working on them, but they still in essence are blockbuster movies. and thus are produced in bit of a "factoristic" in the end, even if the actual team that makes it pours all their talent and love into it, the studioheads have different ideas. >>422460 That's expected. Cats are fucking weird they think new noise = new thing
Anno
I don't really see how that's weird, it kind of makes sense to think that a new noise is a new thing.
Anno
It's weird they don't understand object permanence. They could be messing with something for a long time but if it makes a different sound they get freaked out and start gently tapping it to see if it's safe or something.
I like to mess with mine by moving them to a new room and putting their toy down, and then taking them to the previous room They spend forever trying to find the fucking toy that I already placed in the other room, haha.
Anno
Well it's not really weird that they don't understand object permanence either, very few animals do, and the ones that do are generally considered amongst the more intelligent species on the planet. Of which cats are not. If anything it's more that it's weird that we have such good object permanence!
Anno
Maybe it's just that I'm not used to feline behavior. The way they act is really funny to me. Wish I wasn't allergic though. Exposure to them has made it a little better, so maybe with time I won't even feel like I'm allergic anymore.

ive really started to grow a lot of disdain for government-oriented medical findings
all the standards we have about alcohol use and what are acceptable daily limits were from a uk-funded study in which the doctors admittedly had trouble establishing any good controls or making any useful interpretation of the data, so basically went with the worst possible scenario and then halved it just for safe measure and said "yeah dont drink more than this amount"
Anno
which is totally fine for public messaging but it's not clinically significant and people act like it is because nobody is in favor of people abusing alcohol but it pisses me off so much that there's that disparity that we'll just accept that something is bad and have some conservative standards in place without really asking why it's bad or to what extent "is drinking alcohol bad for you" is still a legitimate question but we're underinformed and the only acceptable response is "lol of course it's bad for you"

also things like "damage to the liver" are honestly really vague the things which your liver has to process can change the enzyme balances to produce more of the enzymes needed to process whatever it is is the damage occuring to the liver in the process of that enzyme balance change? is it occuring when there's more alcohol than the enzymes can process and so you get acetylalcohol doing damage? is it the metabolization process that's doing damage? once your enzyme levels adjust to chronic usage, is it still doing damage with steady intake, or only upon overconsumption where the acetylalcohol backs up? would it do damage to stop consumption and undergo another heavy shift in enzyme levels? or an altogether different line of thinking, do 40% of drinkers develop liver damage possibly because about 40% of the population happens to use paracetamol and that has a bad interaction in the liver with alcohol?
these are all really interesting questions to me, but if i ever ask them it sounds like i'm trying to make excuses to justify consumption, and it's just "it's bad for your liver and you'd have to be stupid to think otherwise" when that's not even remotely the question
Anno
and the, "even if it's not too bad for your liver, the addiction potential and withdrawal are deadly"
public perception is so effect-oriented and it's so conducive to bad data we even set up our studies based on the assumption that the relationship between things can be derived by just comparing data sets and the mechanism through which it occurs is just dismissed entirely which is fine for exploratory work but at least dig a little deeper into it before dropping government policies based on some quantitative research

my uncle took one of the feral kittens into his home and kept it, because he already had her brother and thought it'd be nice that there'd be a brother and sister i let him know that the sister was not a sister but in face also a boy cat but he still calls it a girl and says she/her and the other brother cat which he already had (neutered) gets pretty frisky with this male cat he refuses to acknowledge is male
he's a very homophobic and transphobic person but he has a gay cat and a trans cat pretty much

Hi, how are you?
Kirara π
I'm okay. How are you?
Anno
It feels like one of my eyelashes might've folded in again. One of my eyes is feeling really aggravated right now.
Yuu
>>422618 Just relaxing! Enjoying my last bit of freedom. Tomorrow is going to suck since I'm so behind on work.
Kirara π
>>422619 I always take care of that ASAP with tweezers.
>>422620 I bet you're really far behind after barely working for a week.
>>422621 When it gets too aggravating for me to be comfortable with I just attack the eye with a rubbing barrage. As far as I can tell that eventually unsticks it or removes it entirely.
Kirara π
>>422622 How long do you think it will take you to catch up?
Yuu
>>422625 I don't know. It's something that I don't really want to think about.
I got to go through a big pile of records and price them today. Some of them went for quite a bit.
Kirara π

Anno
>>422642 Because that's generally a good indication of the quality of a game, eh. There was another game that was like that somewhat recently that was also pretty mediocre on release.
Kirara π
>>422648 Yeah, I remember it happening recently but I can't remember the game.
Ko-Shi

sk

>>422660 Sometimes, but right now I'm just a little worried about all the work I was unable to do while I had the flu.
Anno
>>422664 yeah i barely did any work last week either me bones be hurtin a lot ima have to explain that i haven't been working on a thing not a big deal though
I have exited my third day of working with very little sleep this time it was because i kept waking up because it was getting too hot and i couldn't figure out why. It was because the AC was on the wrong setting. I thought I had set it to cool the room in anticipation for the temperature rising into the high 70s // my b low 80s with 75% humidity. It was actually just on the fan setting. So it was just blowing hot air into my room that has no ventilation whatsoever. I guess I didn't turn the knob as far as I thought when I turned it on or something. Thanks for reading my blog.
FormerRei@mobile
Your welcome

Anno
>>422669 When it's really warm in the summer here, the subway cars are usually blasting cool air on at full power. It's often a blessing because those subway tunnels are really good at keeping the hot, humid air. But every now and then you get a car that's either been mis-set or the AC is broke as fuck and stepping into the car, you're literally hit with a wall of even more hotter, more humid air that's been trapped in there. And now you're trapped in it for the duration of your ride in that car. Fun stuff.
FormerRei@mobile
Maybe But I'm particularly more bbroke than usual riright nonow.

I don't have a single shirt on teespring I was fibbing all along

Have one computer wired up to a monitor and keyboard in every room of the house

Anno
>>423027 >trying to spank it to ntr >accidentally jerk the mouse and drag the window into the living room TV where your girlfriend and brother are
Maria
>>423029 No you see all the monitors display the same thing so you can instantly pick up where you left off So they always see the ntr Wait Dude Why is your gf alone with your brother
Anno
>>423030 the same reason we're spanking it to ntr duh
meat dipped in honey is not good meat cooked with honey is good
Dutchy-chan
fish cooked with honey is very nice as well
Anno
fish is like meat for people who live in the wrong part of the world
Maria
pork is so fucking good
Anno
the best thing i have ever tasted is cow cheek
Anno
i think i like to eat more parts of a pig than i prefer parts of the cow though hmmm
Anno
did you try the tongue
Dutchy-chan
friend of mine had a pork ankle/foot the other day huge chunk of meat and he liked it
Anno
>>423041 i've never tried it but i would if i saw it on the menu >>423042 pork leg is really good but almost every part of the animal tastes good
Anno
guys do animals taste better or worse when they were happy while alive
Dutchy-chan
don't think I've ever tasted a happy animal
Anno
>>423045 i saw a buck who was with his mate and had spotted a smaller one in the same area earlier i believe he had a family and kids when i killed him in front of his deer-bitch and got the butcher to render his successful ass self into steaks and sausage it was really good
i should have tagged the smaller one and found him later when he's all depressed because i killed his family and eat him and see if it's any better than his dad
Dutchy-chan
yeah that would've been a good comparison
TN
>>423048 no you should hac've waited for him to have a family killed that family too and then finally killed him
TN
but i have found that atleadt fair trade ΓΆabeled products usually taste worse than non
Anno
I think I can suffer a marginal loss of flavour for the sake of the production line abusing the population of the countries it takes its raw materials and simple processing from in a lesser degree.
Dutchy-chan
I just want as many animals to suffer as possible
Anno
*gamers
TN
>>423052 the actual fair trade benefit to the producers is like 1 or 2 cents more while on shelves they ask 2-3 the proce of non fairtrade product
TN
2-3 times the price*
Anno
I'm going to assume on both accounts that this is you exaggerating for the sake of dramatics as usual. I have never seen a fair trade product that was literally two times the price of a generic of the same content.
and while it is true that the ft associated producers make more money, they are still practically paid in buttons compared to the increased ask price from the end stage consumer
Anno
I can't see them where are they
Anno
I can see clearly now the rain has gone I can see aaaall obstacles in my whey.
Anno
>>423059 That's not really related to the argument I was making though. If that is a reason you choose not to buy fair trade products, that's fine. But it's not something that refutes the argument I put forth.
TN
>>423062 true it doesn't refute it and ft is true to its word, the producer gets more i just don't feel the slight increase in the amount paid to the poor chsps justifies their shelf price stinks of corporate greed preying on people's good will
Anno
I would have to see a comprehensive detailing of companies that work with fair trade goods and see for myself that the price distribution is really that unfair towards the bottom parts of the production chain. Because I don't work under the philosophy that companies are defacto corrupt or malicious like that. It's nonsensical to assume everyone's out to get you.
>>423065 Well then, since you're the one claiming this and you evidently have the data, why don't you provide it?
TN
well go resesrch it i did it once
AnnoTN
>>423064 you think i have some data lying around on some random dive into stuff i did years ago?
