It is kind of silly, but. Orbital dropping just about anything from the moon to the Earth's surface would have disastrous destructive power.

earth would probably be fine because of atmosphere for the most part but all of our satellites and the iss would die
Nothing would really happen out of nuking the moon, except prolly dustclouds on moon's surface that would prevent us from landing there for who knows how long >>40616 and this might be possibility, but depends on how the radiation spreads and will the emp reach our orbit which I doubt it would

YEah I bet you have "retiree" posts where your former politicians can earn big or maybe your system works differently in EU, it generally is how politicians function nowadays or europe general work a good political carreer of 20 years and then get some retiree spot with way too high wage compared to the requirements andw ork load of the job. EU posts itself are a form of "retirement" too for that matter, as they pay much more too.
No need to be schady and corporate bought, when the government itself gets you big money, so it does help keep the gov cleaner, but... it still is sketchy and shitty when people get those high posts and wages that should go to more qualified persons and not just some carreer politician
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
most people think our people get way too much money
here lobbying needs to be transparent so it is harder to gain money that way as a politician, but US... Clinton foundation is a postergirl example of how carreer politicians gather wealth over there, I believe.
But there are amusing cases too like a children's hospital that was built it was pushed by city level politicians and the funding and construction was done by some foundations and amusingly, the plot and the building are still owned by the foundation, who rent it to the city owned hospital. And where all the profits of the supposedly "non-profit foundation" go afterwards when the deals are done and so on, not to mention all the donations for the building of the hospital, go isa good question. An investigation to the matter lead that it would most likely go to a really small group of rich finnoswedes, with ties to the people who were in power at the time of the projects inception.
No country is without its corruption, even the supposedly "least corrupt" countries, like us. We just do it so good it isn't found and shrugged off as "way of the country"
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
and well when is it corruption and wen is it just greedy shameless profiteering?
M e neither, but facts are the super expensive hospital did get built without spending that much government money. And without that kind of power players profiteering behind the scenes, it might not ahve ever happened. The amount of money charity can raise towards such expensive constructions etc., is afterall quite limited. World is ugly, but from /but you don't necessarily need to see the shitshow behind the scenes if you don't want to.
I didn't approve of it, and neither did anyone who read the report, but they didn't do anything illegal per se. and we got a hospital
>>41019 Anarchy is halfway decent as long as you have someone guaranteeing the anarchy stays there, and you've already got enough wealth to keep bodyguards around
Dnno cause it is the funniest part and also you can't just "drop" things out of the moon anyhow, it has quite good gravitational pull Much easier to launch nukes and anyhow anything you blasted from there would most likely burn in the atmosphere for that matter too.
It's the same thing Obviously you don't "drop" it from the moon, but you launch it from the moon, dropping it on the earth
Like come on, it's obvious to anyone she didn't literally mean you stand on the moon and drop a piece of gravel
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
No it's not you¨'d have it circle around the moon's orbit or launch it from the moon and it would need good amount of juice to escape the gravitational pull, good amount of juice to escape orbit good amount of motor juice to navigate to earth woudl take a month or so before it gets to earth and most likely will not hit anywhere intended
Launching any attack from the surface or orbit of ANOTHER stellar body towards another stellar body is idiotical unless, you are indeed waging a real long scale war and are using the orbital trick of gaining velocituy and shit, but that is not what she ment
If you wanted to drop things from the sky, you'd do it from our own orbit. Not from the moon or moon's orbit...
月
>>41032 it's funny to me how, in this context, that idea is an absurdity but it's exactly the same thing that people get wrong about understanding tides on earth
『sk』
We landed a probe on an asteroid, I think we won't struggle to hit some point on the earth with a titanium rod we essentially throw from the moon, a comparably stable object in relation to the earth and vice versa
>>41035 I struggle to understand what you mean cause I'm retarded
『sk』
>>41042 What, the moon landing? Dude a furby is more technologically advanced than the Apollo
Oh, the asteroid landing Yeah But we have the tech to do that Saying we can't hit a city from the moon is assuming our tech will regress by the time we put the installation on the moon
But main poitn still stands 1. it takes more energy to launch an object from surface of the moon and escape moon's orbit and then do the necessary trajectional corrections to hit intended target on earth's surface 2. even if you could do this efficiently enough to justify it, it would take a MONTH for it to arrive on target 3. every landing so far has not exactly been pinpoint calculated, even SpaceX moves their pickup boats quite much to get their rockets 4. as said in 1., it would cost way less fuel to launch anything into just high orbit and let it drop from there and finally 5. most likely said object would burn in the atmosphere
>>41047 No I know that, I just don't get it in relation to the rod thing
月
it's literally the same misunderstanding as thinking that standing on the moon and dropping something will make it move towards earth, due to the earth having more gravity than the moon
Also, orbital bombardment with anything not rods haped and too large, wouldm ost likely become too affected by everything between Orbit and Target and thus miss so say having meteors around moons orbit as a sikrit wiipon, would be a fucking dumb idea, unless you intend to level some "random point between madrid and berlin"
