basically it was americas, euros, russia/china, and then SEA/Australia the tournaments are getting really big. they used to be just show up and play, but we had about 50 participants in the recent ones which means we go through a week of qualifiers before the final teams are determined then we have a week to discuss with our teams our play order and make OC for the tournament
it's really fun. your team makes their own playmat, chooses sound clips for deal-in, tsumo, ron, and riichi theme, and then team anthem choose avatars, and make team posters it's really a fun community event and i look forward to things like that

Stardew Valley is nice if you like the classic Harvest Moon games.
I'd advice against Splatoon unless you have means for getting the Switch online service. Advise even. The single-player is okay but you can't do any of the dress-up or multiplayer unless you've got the subscription service. Honestly it's twenty USD a year so it's not a -big- investment but it is still an additional one.

Oh yeah Splatoon is a lot of fun. I think if the online service is something you can manage it's a great pick up. The multiplayer games are like five minutes a pop so while it can be frustrating some times to get sucky people you're not stuck with them for like half an hour or more. Plus communication is extremely restricted so it's not like they can really harass you. The most annoying someone can be is probably spam one of the two signal alerts. I mean I guess they can also just not cooperate with the rest of the team and while that can lose your team the round, there's still some enjoyment to just ignoring what they're doing and focus on winning. Even in a hopeless situation the actual mechanics are fun enough to just play with that it's a good way to kill time until the timer runs out.

The point of mild difficulty is in the ranked game modes, which are unique enough in their objectives that if your team is just uninterested in playing as a unit, you're going to get run over. In the unranked turf wars game mode you can just pretty much go off and do your own thing and honestly might win your team the game doing that. But the ranked modes can be frustrating if you get players that don't want to move as a team.
The other catch is that Splatoon 2's been out for a while now and I think the update cycles for it have concluded. So while there still might be people playing (I imagine there are but I literally have not played in months), it is on its way to a retired game by this point, I feel.

This dumb kid at the sober house flooded the place a little bit. Was so upset and anxious about it. It was cute.
But then he opened the washing machine when I was moving it to get to the flood alarm and all the water poured out. It was 100% full. His face was priceless. He's like 19 lol I love calming down people that are freaking out almost as much as I love people freaking out so it was nice.
Then I had to go buy a mop because we didn't have one. I got everything set up and handed it off to the house manager so I can go run tabletop game.
I can find joy in just about anything as long as I'm not already overburdened. Flooding is a nice, easy to handle crisis that's generally pretty low risk. It helps that it's not my home that's flooding, though.

I've been finally getting at MonHun World again. The first time I played I beat the low-rank single player stuff and kinda got distracted. But I'm getting back at the high-rank stuff now and man I've remembered how much FUN Monster Hunter is.

the apartment i applied to said they'll accept me if i can provide an extra one month's rent as a deposit that's not like an extra month's rent paid for. just the same amount as one month's rent as a deposit which they might try to make me fight to get back since they seem unscrupulous

asking for a deposit is common. there's already a deposit. this is an additional deposit due to low credit it's understandable. i have bad credit so they want an additional deposit of one month's rent. it's not that scummy. it's just hard. i do agree landlords are scummy though and these ones probably are too.

They'd be a lot more unhappy in a week or so when they're reeling from catching Covid-19 off some other partygoer. It's unfortunate that the pandemic caught fire right about this time but these are appropriate steps to take to keep it from getting worse.
