I've sent this stuff to my dissertation chair three times this week and she keeps saying she didn't get it. I don't believe her. She has broken my trust
Not really. She's also one of the people who gets to make a decision as to whether I get to stay in the program. So it would be dangerous not to play along.

like is she trying to do a subtle hint with that like "oh, i didnt receive it. send me in your wink wink finished version wink wink again please" suggesting that it isnt ready and to try again nah that doesnt make sense nobody's gonna pore through it in that much detail and then go through it again everybody's fucked for time already nobody reads that shit
i wish every single draft i send her, she spends like 20 hours going through it even the parts we haven't even fucking edited it's so frustrating and such a waste of time
she's either stupidly incompetent or she's just lazy i don't know which it is but it's so frustrating

I guess so
FormerRei@mobile
Mine is Endro

I can put 19k into my retirement funds per year that's 1584/mo or 792/check And I'm grabbing like 1339 each check so that leaves me with 547 every two weeks. Right now my contribution amount is just 300/check and I'm trying to see where and how I should balance this and the money I invest manually, and the money I spend normally/.
Anno
Sounds like kind of a pain. But I guess that's the work involved in getting as early a retirement as possible, eh.
Living like this is only viable because I don't pay rent right now. If I did, I'd need to shell out an extra 2-3k. So I figured I might as well make the most of my early numbers as possible. Like right now my split is 300/500 between the retirement portfolio and my manual portfolio. Maxing it out would cut into the ~500 of normal spending dollars I have. I'm thinking I can go 700/250 and just have about 300 per check to do stuff with. Also, I can always do overtime (but I really don't want to have to do overtime)
Thanks. It's not like I'm asking for advice. The only people who I know that are in my kind of position are very few and ... they aren't really the best people to ask things of anyway. If I can get a portfolio that can generate a lot in dividends/year, I can free myself from the coil of work.

yes, but we know there were non-japanese people in japan, especially during the sengoku era so it's not weird at all that there would be a westerner despite the lack of relations between europe and japan there are other westerners in the game as well

Or maybe it's a name given to her by Dōgen, who as both a doctor and genius inventor probably would have studied texts and culture of lands abroad.
Kirara, the Baseball Mom
yeah, there are a lot of ways to justify it it isn't that unbelievable
Oh yeah, for those worried about dragonrot, it's only true deaths that can cause it. So ressing won't incur the rot as long as you don't lose all your resses and survive to rest at an idol. It's only when you die and respawn at an idol that incurs it.
what is Dragon rot? oh you answered it I guess by the way, I've been trying to figure this out but when you die in Sekiro and come back does someone else die in your place or something?
Anno
>>660186 it's okay later on in the game you'll be able to die 3 times in one boss fight and still win
I just kept fighting butterfly until I beat her, I died probably 300 times or atleast I felt like it. It is super fun. I am having a problem of dying to nearly every boss right now though and there are a lot of bosses
Anno
>>660189 No but the lore goes that dying and resurrecting needs to pull that life energy from somewhere, so it pulls from the people Sekiro meets in Ashina. Though it seems to be more a distributed pull than from one target person.
Also people get sick but I haven't seen anyone actually die yet.
oh, so it isn't EXACTLY like that one book I read. Okay. There's this series where the big reveal about your immortality is essentially that. Someone you love dies in your place. And you're an assassin in that one too.
Anno
>>660191 Hah hah, did you go straight to Hirata Estate immediately after getting the item to open it? There's a bit more of the normal world you can explore before going there that cam net you enough beads for a health extension.
When people get sick, it halts their quests until they're healed. I've heard they can actually die if you leave them sick long enough, though.

Centipede was the easiest miniboss for me. It's just a bunch of swipes you deflect and then you jump! He only has one perilous attack and it's a sweep, so if you deflect all those and then jump kick his sweep, you do tons of posture damage.

Something interesting I've observed: The Mibu Possession balloon works by increases // increasing the chance items will drop and simultaneously increasing the chance to rarer items. But the Mibu Wealth balloon only increases the gold you get. So you can kill enemies and use the balloon after they're dead, and you get the extra gold.

And when I looked them up they're actually pretty solid so I'm going to pour more into it over time. Some stock concerning senior housing and and maintenanc and healthcare (SNR) NCM which is third party advertising in movies and a couple of other weird things? >Management Investment Company >Business Capital Company I figure if these people are going to end the world, I might as well take some of the pot.
>>660271 Neat. I'm going to buy some stocks this summer, I think. Fish's dad was going to teach me the stock market, but then we had that fight and he's hated me, so I never got around to it.
The capital stuff is more of the short term. They're dangerous. They're low price but high dividend which isn't a problem in itself but whenever something bad happens at the company dividends are usually the first to get axed and that's really what I'm trying to capitalize on the most.

>>660273 does he actually still do trading and not have others do it for him, tho? Guess he prolly did it when younger and less rich
He probably does both. Get yourself a couple of investment firms to work on some money at a generally understandable rate and then have a pile for yourself to essentially gamble with.
!C0.PerkELE
also this does mean that blue is a filthy capitalist pig dog
>>660279 We gotta do what we gotta do Choosing not to get that bread isn't going to change anything for the better, so might as well get your piece so you can actually do good things on your own
>>660277 I've only just started so I haven't really pulled anything yet. I should probably get an E*Trade account instead of using Robinhood because this whole "Wait a week for your money to show up" costs money. Anyway, I'm working with the 10k that I saved from last year. If nothing serious happens, I should be pulling $176 per quarter. Which sounds like trash because it is.

is there like an online browser version of jenga or something we could play
>>660285 yeah, it's nice and it will grow as I put more money in to invest. The aim is to turn that 176 into 3500 one day >>660287 It's not taxed because it's automatically reinvested. So each stock pays me a dividend but then uses that payment to "buy more stock" So my stocks will grow by themselves this way.
!C0.PerkELE
also isn't that small a sum taxation free over there?
ToN
kirara log into granvblue its the last roulette day
>>660286 Here you don't pay taxes on hmm what was the word, whatever stocks etc investment income untill you cross a certain yearly amount I think it was 5000 or 10 000
>>660292 Oh yeah, that's another thing. If I was doing day trading, then yeah, it gets taxed. But since I'm just going to be buying and leaving things for more than a year, then I'll only have to worry if I pass a certain income threshold. However, by paying more into my retirement (and also with my 3k taxable income reduction due to crypto losses), it's a lot harder for me to pass that threshold.
>>660286 Wow, that's really cool. >>660291 True. But that would be 12 years to get your investment back, right? Maybe I'm just showing how bad I am at math
Yeah basically but that is how investing is, if you don't do risky or get some companies that pay royally it is basically like loaning money with an interest the income isn't that huge, but it is - if the credited does pay up - solid income the trick is, that you just need high amounts of capital to churn around
day trading ofc is much faster, but riskier and of course stressful
>>660293 my brother made huge stacks with crypto currencies back when bitcoin was 10k+(though he didn't have any btcs). If I recall correctly, he didn't get any of the money out for over a halfa year to avoid taxes, ending up with him losing like 30-40% of his profits he still profited, but he lost a chunk
Makes you wonder post fact, that he should have just gotten all dem munies out and paid the tax man prolly would have made more that way
>>660294 well, you gotta remember, this is strictly dividends. This doesn't account for things like if the price per share goes up. And also, since it autoreinvests, I 'll have more shares for the next quarter. The things I chose have been relatively stable for the past five years. if that keeps up, 176 this quarter, will become a little bit more next quarter. >>660298 what
let me put it this way. My CURRENT Dividend/Investment % is like... ...well, it's 1.76 lol duh, 10k you dummy which means it costs $56 to make $1 per quarter If I want 1k/mo (3k/quarter), I need to hit: $169,913
Do you think retirement is going to exist by the time you would have enough to retire? That's the biggest thing that's kept me from thinking about retirement.
I managed to save 10k in a single year. Technically that means it'll take me 17 years but if I can manage to compound on what I have upwards, it'll take less. I just have to be really smart and patient about it. But it's really hard for me to see myself doing that in the future because I live at home right now. Saving 10k if I was on my own? I don't know how I'd do that without making another 3-4k/mo
>>660303 This is actually an interesting topic and I am not even approaching it in terms of >we will be worked to death but in overall work culture and attitude changing
say people live up to 100 yo on average and stay healthy till 80-90s and if work is no longer that taxing, atleast physically why would you retire at 50s or 60s or atleast completely going from 40 hours a week, to say just half that with older people well who knows
i gotta admit that's pretty impressive blue my attempts to save anything end up with me still bein broke every month but honestly even if i could, i dont have enough faith in the dollar or enough faith in myself surviving 17 years to want to invest, personally it's super cool if you're able to set up your own retirement though.
THAT SAID. I CAN AT LEAST SAY THIS. IF I MAKE A SINGLE MILLION, SOMEHOW, ANYHOW, I'M FUCKEN SET FOR LIFE. JUST ONE. 5K/MO >>660309 I'm giving myself three years. I don't want to be in this house longer than that. My mom wants a maid and she doesn't have one which means her maids are me and my sister.
>>660306 I meant more along the lines of, ecological collapse is going to push us into a state of economic disaster in the next 30 years, and most of the money we save is most likely going to become worthless.
like. I know, okay. I KNOW that eating at home can easily cost less than eating out. But it is so fucking stressful to even want to go into the kitchen because Lord knows I will have to clean the entire thing before I go back to anything I was doing.
>>660309 Yeah that is one likely thing to happen This is why I dislike large currencies like euro nowadays a small nation can avoid total economical collapse most likely, if they can sever themselves partially from world economy but if something as large as euro or god forbid dollar collapses that will be disastrous to its users and anyone tied to it
Here ofc retirement atm means basic state income and saved work income and then any other savings you might have done a retiree gets something like 600 a month + income based on how much money they have been earning as a retirement money I have something like 20€ a month in terms of the latter built up so basically NOTHING
>>660309 If such a thing happened then all my saving would be for naught but I wouldn't really feel too bad about it because saving and investing hasn't really hurt me (yet) >>660314 yeah, this is where I'm at. It's hard to just destroy the value of a dollar unless you have some serious pandemonium. or any supreme currency People aren't looking for that kind of change in their lives and the world is getting very accustomed to the concept of >What if we monetized the rot?
dollar imo nor the euro would collapse, or any major individual economy there are too many pressures for outlet for major economies to collapse from here forward (i think) but currencies themselves are losing their purchasing power and i dont think the dollar or any currency will mean a whole whole lot on its own it'll still be nice to have more rather than less but the impact and control that is provided from it is probably going to scale down a lot
>>660312 and this kind of a system of course is something the experts tells us that "can't maintain itself without constantly growing population" and so on and god forbid if you mention japan to these people.
>>660319 I mean that even if shit went to hell we'd still have our industries here to "solve problems" >>660324 I don't wanna say "invest in the decline", rather "invest in the resistance of decline".
But yeah, we're also investing in the decline as well.
>>660321 like investing in the decline? that's what i thought but i wasn't sure if you maybe meant riot and typoed or something else
月😼
yeah i guess that could be interpreted the wrong way i think it's the same but the perception might not be profiting off of a decline doesn't mean reinforcing it necessarily it just means that you're tending to needs that develop because of a decline, as opportunities open up for things that weren't needed during stability and because there's more mobility of information and access to information, it's very hard to abuse those channels for greedy profit at least at the local level of decline >>660326 yeah, that first one is indirect though if an industry is ruining the environment but still providing some sort of need, then i guess i'd say whatever their product or service is is what you're investing in and really when i'm saying investing, im not talkin aboot stocks necessarily but efforts and focuses, and then of course funding and resources is a significant driver, but not all of it e.g. a pharmaceutical company's R&D department has intention behind their spending whether or not they have the money isn't the driver, but what they see as significant areas of research which can be ascertained by probing the market, which has a lot of LAG or by predictive modeling (medium lag medium accuracy) probing would have higher accuracy or by just sayin "eh this is probably gonna be important" (low lag low accuracy)
I mean, it's pretty similar. like, if an industry is ruining the environment and you're putting money into it, that's investing in the decline. but the needs that develop would be the resistance of it. But yeah, I get what you mean.

I can't really think of a better place to move to as a Jew before an impending global disaster.

>global disaster happens >I shall move to a country that is surrounded by all sides by people who hate them and think of them as animals sure
Kirara, the Baseball Mom
well israel will probably have rid the middle east of those "animals" by then just expanded until israel was the middle east and left everyone else to die in open air prisons

The final exam for my class on world literature is an in-class exam (as opposed to one taking place during the exam week). That's a little weird, but what's even weirder is it's an exam we're required to do digitally, so we're required to bring in laptops for the exam? The professor does say exceptions can be made with the centre we've got for students with test concerns, and our library does offer laptop rentals, but it's still a really weird way to do an exam.
But at least I won't have to worry about being too slow handwriting the exam.
this boss keeps throwing explosives at me and then swiping at me at the same time and i can't figure out how to defend against it if i deflect his attack, i take damage from the explosios if i avoid the explosions, he gets me with his swipe
i reckon accessibility is going to have the most impact in the future rather than currency wealth like just plain ol how many terminals you have and well youve networked, how easy you are to be accessed by any trend in the network provided we ever hit post-scarcity anyway it's something that's pretty free right now too which is probably going to be more and more difficult in the future so i think that's a good investment to make sooner
The grappling hook in Sekiro just feels so good to use. I think the last time I played a game with a function like that was Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and even that was less fluid than in this game. It just makes moving around the world so much fun.
Yeah, it's gotta be. but thinking about it more, that makes things pretty weird like... There must be new bridges or something also, they seem really close hold on \
they said this in episode 2 err this is in the intro i mean right after the collapse

it doesn't look like that though. I don't think the scenery does either Yeah, it's trying to depict a bridge in lower manhattan or midtown but all we got down there are tunnels. The Holland and the Lincoln Tunnel

Kirara, the Baseball Mom
It's such good boss design, though. I love it. The second form is actually easier than the first, in my opinion.
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
yes the second form is super easy in comparison Just keep the heck away from it which I tried for the first phase but that's the wrong idea. I was too fixated on it being too big to parry which is a lie because Sekiro is a god
