Maus on paper a very powerful tank, but in actuality an engineer's nightmare that can't function on any terrain at all and uses so much fuel that operating it is just pure 10000% impracticability.
!C0.PerkELE
because of its slow speed, if it was actually capable of operating, it would be too slow and unmanuverable to be usable in armoured warfare and against infantry well... they can just rush to it, toss some bottles filled with alcohol and bit of flame at its exhaust vents and woof

Maus is failure in every possible way as a war engine it isn't mass producable it isn't viable in any way possible in combat and finally, even if doable in someway, it isn't operable in any terrain

Anno
It can be pretty tough. Especially in countries a fair bit north you're spending a lot of time with less sun than humans arguably should healthfully be seeing. There's also the psychological effect of long months with less break time. They're cold months or hot months, long without some kind of big moment like a lot of the ones clustered towards the end of the year. If you don't have a good social safety net the stress of the experience can be difficult to handle.

Kirara, the Cat
including references and appendices

I guess by the time you get to PhD-level work you're into a focus you're particularly invested in which dissuades some of the intimidation of a piece that length. Somewhat.
Koi
ah, I guess I lucked out. It was one out of nine and I got the KoiKoko one although the Kokoro Kogasa one is cute too. Either would have been good
>>636516 It's not as scary as it sounds. If you know the literature, you can easily pump out 40 pages on it. And if you know the literature, you can easily manage 15-20 pages of discussion (unless you don't find anything in your research, which would give you a shorter dissertation). Depending on your analyses, you can probably get 3-5 pages without trouble. Then there's you r appendices which is probably 10 pages. References, you've probably got 60-100, so that's a few of those pages.

>>636546 The octagonal (maybe hexagonal?) shape of the Gamecube's right stick is useful for fighting games like Smash, sure. He's a slower Captain Falcon for the most part. Though his smash attacks have extra range because of the sword.
I love the changes to Ganondorf It makes him so much cooler

I wish they'd given him some more variety than just colour swaps. Maybe have some alternates be him rocking the Twlight Princess or Wind Waker look. Mechanically though he's HELLA fun.
oh to my campaign players I want you to know I'm doing research for the sake of the campaign.
sk
At least I was able to blast through the unlocking by just relaunching the game over and over, so I don't gotta worry about that anymore honestly ridiculous that they expect you to play bots for like 12 hours to get the full roster >>636591 I mean without the relaunching thing, 12 hours is like the shortest you're gonna get away with doing classic or wol will take way longer than that
Anno
I don't really think that's what they expected. They provided it as an option because that's how it's worked in previous Smash games. But I'm pretty sure the unlock function they focused on was World of Light.
>>636590 Yeah but speed, again, wasn't their intention. I'm pretty sure Sakurai even said during one of the many Smash Directs that they were developing a mechanic of unlocking that was supposed to be a satisfying experience that made them feel like rewards.

I got a bunch through WoL and then went and played some of the other modes for a while. One run of Classic mode is enough time to run out the timer on a new challenger so I started going and testing my skill out there while getting more. >>636596 Well either way I don't know if it's functionally possible to run through Classic in less time than the timer because of load times and filler scenes like the stages and credits. So who knows either way.
sk
Classic mode gives you challengers, I don't think the clock matters there
sk
Yeah, I think the timer's like 10 minutes? Beating classic mode in that time seems like it should be possible, but it'll be close
I needed the characters anyway cause I was playing with a friend >>636598 I'm just popping in, probably gone again tomorrow
I was at a party for New Years and the hosts had a full set-up for Smash running. All the games I sat in to play on and ended up winning were also games that had character unlocks so I got to solo off against the new challenger with everyone else around me. That was kind of something, hah hah.
I've only played smash locally with like 5 people total Loner Lyfe
But now with online and stuff, I wanna get good because I want that feeling I had with CSGO for a while where I just sorta felt the game I want that back, but I don't wanna get back into CSGO just cause it takes way too much time and it's far too frustrating when you get a bad team

Anno
>>636604 Guess it's trying to inspire you to test out new things!
>>636624 How are those working out for you anyway?
Anno
I'm not entirely certain. Towards the end of the month's worth I had I think there might have been a particular effect, which is in line with what the doctor told me to expect. But I also don't really know what I should be expecting from them so I don't know if they were sufficiently effective. And the most particular concern, my struggles with apathy and difficulty with getting engaged in work, wasn't really something I could test their help with since I was out of school during the time I was taking them. As well I don't think they had much of an impact on my difficulty with remembering to do things that I'm not immediately engaged in. It's stuff I should probably talk with the doctor about when I see them next.
I really like this new headset I got, but my right ear does not enjoy being subjected to pain Iunno why it be like this, but the right side kinda rubs against my ear and it's awful
Anno
Are your ears particularly asymmetrical?
sk
Not as far as I'm aware the internals are fucked tho
my left ear has this thing where it feels like something's crawling inside it a lot of the time, and if I yawn I'll hear a crack sound and it feels like it's bleeding in there And my right ear is kinda closed so if I wanna put in earbuds, I gotta pull it up a bit to open it and let it in
But it's likely asymmetry at fault for this pain thing
Anno
Oh I had that yawning crack for a long while. I don't know about bleeding but it would definitely make my jaw crack if I stretched it too wide open and would some times make that area around my jaw hinge/eardrum really painful for a moment. It just kind of stopped after a while, though I can some times still crack my jaw.
sk
>>636665 Yeah that sounds like the same thing The pain is really strange when that happens, I'm not even sure how to describe it It's like something sorta snapped
Anno
Well it's always felt like to me like I'm cracking or popping that joint the jaw hinges on. All the muscles up in that corner of the face are pretty complex and jostled really in close together, so it doesn't surprise me that one weird flex can generate pain, especially in a sensitive organ like the ear. Do you chew a lot of gum or whatever else?
sk
Not really I used to eat spaghetti but that wasn't as much chewing as it was breaking
I don't chew a lot of gum cause sometimes my jaw fucks up, and my ears open and I can hear my breathing really loud, and I get dizzy and nauceous
Anno
Well if it ever gets to a point where it's a serious concern I'd talk to a dentist, or really an orthodontist if you can cut out the middleman about it. Sounds like there's some weird fuckery going on with your jaw and they'd probably be the ones to have a solution if there is one.
sk
Yeah It's never been a huge issue, so I just haven't really bothered with it

also he was actually quite good at quake arena
!C0.PerkELE
and amusingly he knew about all the games and shit on the shared space, but didnt' do jack shit about it and a rare admin that actually knew shit about computers like actually actually knowing stuff
my web design teacher was crazy he started off seeming really normal just a normal cool dude but by like the third year i knew him we had gotten really close and id be in the lab working on stuff in my free time and he'd just be sitting there and he'd go like "ever think about how evolution isn't proven" and i'd be like "uhh no" and he'd start like telling me to think it through evolution doesn't make sense and we haven't proven it only natural selection and i was like 16 so i was like uhh haha yeah ok
i didn't really get what he was doing until i was probably like 20
man he gave me like 500 gigs of pirated music he was awesome we'd trade pirated software and stuff
We once took all the mouse balls and hid them away in a locker and replaced them with "april fools" on what would it be 29th of march friday so next class on monday would find them it was damn ebin
We did the same in high school, but by then, and the school actually being a top ranking highly funded school, they had laser mice so we just taped over theme with the same message
First time I was working for that one company I haveb een oddjobbing ever since, i found an ANCIENT prolly not in use computer with a fucking mouse with a ball and I stole the ball propably last of its kind, and maybe in use and I made it permanently inoperable I still have that ball
>>636830 there are still ball mice also the thumb balls, but thats different
Kannagi
I had a mouse with the ball o n the top that you rolled instead of moving the mouse you just moved the ball with your fingers. That was my favourite mouse but it broke a while ago
FormerRei@mobile
I hate those so much I had to use one for a few says once and it aggravated my wrist injury.
月
i have a thumb mouse like that it's very handy for when im laying down with my laptop quite easy to use
FormerRei@mobile
Now that sounds usable.
Kannagi
>>636837 I liked it, I didn't get wrist issues with it. It was really good when I had a lack of desk space
Every now and then I for some reason feel the urge to try something I know previously disagreed with my stomach or general palate. Maybe it's a good reminder because the results usually fall in what I predict. This time it was Sunny D and man. That stuff is absolutely horrid.
https://www-m.cnn.com/2019/01/27/us/florida-grenade-evacuation/index.html >Florida man found a grenade while fishing and then took the explosive to Taco Bell
it's not really a multiclass so much as i just took a skill from bard because i couldn't think of another power for rogue that fit the theme of solid snake i figured we could talk it out next time we meet and get something that fits from rogue that i'm overlooking
I might have missed over a rogue power but where did C4 come from?
And don't worry, this is cool so I'm cool with it.
Originally I had an idea of all Servants have like resist normal weapons or something because that's kind of how that works but that might make them busted. You know basically 'resist things that aren't other Servants'
Kirara, the Cat
oh i forgot about c4 yeah i just made that up lol i figured we could balance it later
Kirara, the Cat
>>636855 maybe but kozuki cut off saber's head once with his hands
I like the idea of him not actually being really high rank berserk, but because of his believed claims to the throne, in tandem with the fact that you know the Empress can do mind magic, she actually made him more berserk after the fact to prevent him from wanting to disobey her I mean granted there's also the matter of the command seal
oh yeah I thought of that earlier. Just like how the ritual was split between you, the seal is visibly distiributed on each of your right hands, except Lee's whose is on his left. And that does mean your command spells are split between you as a group as well. Still only three of course.
Kirara, the Cat
there are four of us though does someone // do two people get half of one
It's less "you get one each" and more "you each can coordinate o..." hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Some of you really like to mess with each other without interference from your party
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
I actually think I dig the splitting the command spells idea more now that I think about it. How about Lee and someone split their command seal due to his low int And I'll have to figure out/roll for who the unlucky person is.
Kirara, the Cat
i'll split with lee i wouldn't be able to have magic circuits like humans because i'm a mushroom so it'd make sense if i'm not full master status
I need to figure out the rest of the servant situation in case I decide to have masters fight each other when you aren't involved. It would only make sense.
And I've come to the realization that I might not need my second assassin idea if needed, but in doing so I cut down the total number of servants for variety, but THAT solves the issue of figuring out more servants. It's quite a circular pickle.
By the way did you ever catch that intended MGS reference with that key waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the first campaign
I'd say so. Ruler is just naturally summoned for HGWs other than the Fuyuki grail wars and derivatives of that grail. I don't think anyone's summoned a Ruler by themselves. Avenger might be able to be summoned without too much trouble, since it was summoned into the third Fuyuki war Savior was summoned into the Moon Cell, but so were the Moon Cancers, and the Moon Cell HGW has different rules than normal HGWs because it's basically all inside of a computer. It doesn't even technically draw servants from the Throne. I guess weird classes have been summoned to Chaldea as well, in Fate/GO, like Moon Cancer, or Beast, or Foreigner. Chaldea draws from the Throne but it summons servants differently than a grail does, and it's not individuals summoning them usually. The rules are a little wonky there.
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
Oh my bad I didn't mean the weird classes I meant being summoned into a different class than you'd normally get them/associate them as
Most servants fit into 2-3 classes, just because the nature of being so spectacular that you get to become a heroic spirit means you're basically amazing. Servants can't be summoned into classes they don't fit into.
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
I think Jaguar-Man is my favorite servant across all the different Fate stuff.
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
>>636888 I thought you could make anyone into berserker? Or at least anyone who isn't primarily a spellcaster.
And >>636888 my main concern was wanting to put someone in for thematic purposes but not wanting // they wouldn't really fit as that class at first glance I don't believe.
>>636893 They talk about it in Fate/Stay Night, in Fate/Extra CCC, Fate/Apocraphya, Fate/Extella, and Fate/GO. You can also look at the existing list of Berserkers. None of them that were summoned are heroes that never went berserk in battle, with the exception of joke servants or servants that became Berserker after being summoned like Ushiwakamaru when she was corrupted.
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
>>636895 okay, its been ages since I played FSN so I must've forgottten. triple C, apocrypha, extella and GO are secondary canon though so if it wasn't from FSN or ataraxia I would be hesitant to agree.
Kirara, the Cat
there's no such thing as secondary canon all of them are canon to their own timelines
Kirara, the Cat
also rules are the same between parallel universes unless otherwise mentioned
That means that currently I have my servants all figured out and just one master needs to happen. And that one might depend on you guys. Dohohohohohohohohohohohohohohoho
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
>>636897 by secondary I meant you know what it deson't really matter *doesn't

kirby seems like a pretty good character now the puffball has good combo power with the down air drill attack and strong fast smashes especially up smash
Anno
I can't really get into the airy characters like Kirby or Jigglypuff. Even if I'm playing smaller characters they need better gravity than those two.
Three hours ago this sky was Arctic-clear. Now it's snowy enough to mess decently with visibility. Guess that means the storm is moving pretty fast at least.
>High school friends of mine doing a Kingdom Hearts III launch party tonight >Agree to show up >Day of party "oh by the way we're all dressing up Disney-y for it" Shoooort noticeeeeeeee At least I can rock the Tarzan in his dad's clothes look.

>>637184 Pretty much. That or Beast (he's got some glorious hair as a human), or Tarzan.
I also considered Jack Sparrow since he's actually a character in Kingdom Hearts to boot but that costume's a bit much to throw together in FIVE HOURS.
I'm just taking inspiration with this since I don't have a brown cardigan or any blazer whatsoever. So I'm kind of going as modern hipster Tarzan with a light zip-up sweater and blue hoodie. At the least I've got most of the colours accurate.
I don't like them. They don't even seem practical to me. Like what functional use do they have that isn't also addressed by "don't buy pants too large for you".
lel I guess it is old worldian to be suit culture-centric or just prussian

Maybe come Halloween later this year I can recycle the idea and do it proper. And maybe also be more in line with the body Tarzan has too. Sure would be nice.

I kinda had something of that last week. I kept disagreeing with stuff from a person the professor was using in her lecture and started to get really self-conscious of how much I was talking. Though it sounds your situation is different.
>>637260 >>637263 The class is death and dying. The professor invited us to talk about our first times thinking about death. I said I almost died in first grade, but I never really cared about death until I watched someone die. My professor asked if I was afraid of dying myself or other people dying after that, and I said that after they died, I wanted to die for a long time. So I wasn't afraid of dying. I don't know why I said that. I shouldn't have said that much.

>>637273 Yeah pretty much. I have really warm core temperatures but that heat doesn't really ever make it to my extremities Even indoors during winter sitting aty -at my desk can get my shins downwards uncomfortably cold. And there's nothing to be done for how cold my nose gets.
People sort of know about Teacup. Some people do. But I've never talked about it in front of a group like that. I think just saying it out loud wrecked a lot of emotional havoc on me, too. I thought I was going to cry in class, haha. But I held it together and I don't think anyone realized that I was emotionally affected.
I don't know why I said that. I don't usually let my guard down like that. I hope it doesn't spread.
>>637276 My core temp doesn't seem to adjust properly anymore It used to before, but for the last half a year or something it's just been shit, and I'm always cold
My room's always really warm cause I leave the heating fan on, and my dad comments on it whenever he shows up, but if I let it get colder I feel like it's like 15 degrees Even if it's 22 or something

>>637321 It's alright. Most of the people here are wearing a bunch of layers and freaking out about how cold it is. This winter has been colder than usual here, so people have been freaking out nonstop. But the coldest it's even gotten is 40 degrees, and that was in the middle of the night. Everyone freaking out is getting kind of annoying.
I wanted to watch Mob when I got home to cheer me up a little since I'm feeling so bad right now, but it only made things worse. It was a good episode, but I wanted to laugh and smile.
>>637323 Yeah well in italy and other similiar climate territories, when it hit -5 there people died in dozens to hundreds So better hope it don't get that cold
>>637339 And even in places where it is real hot, there are alternative methods of cooling down like for example building so that the building never gets hot I think that is the common Mediterraen method
Another possibility is maybe power generation is reliant on the heat in some way, so power prices could have shot up
It's not super rare for people to die because the power got shut off so they freeze to death
FormerRei@mobile
Okay so 100°F weather in Florida is hotter than 100°F weather in Egypt because in Florida the air contains more moisture which means it has a higher heat capacity.

People will believe anything that sounds good if they don't have to think it out. People don't want to think about things. They want someone to give them the answers. That's why everyone believes the universe is a simulation right now. BuzzFeed did an article saying maybe it is and here are some whackjobs that are supposed to be smart who say so. People read that and they say, wow, that makes perfect sense! without thinking about it. And then they spread it.

>>637388 i need to ACTUALLY post the videos to you today
She was at Pulse a few hours before the shooting, too. She's got a pretty interesting life. It's a shame she moved away, she was fun to cause trouble with.
She never told anyone about me drinking at work every day, and she'd help me fuck with our boss. She's the one that got our boss' email password, too.
>>637399 We had this whole plan about how we were going to fuck with our boss real bad, way worse than usual. We were going to slowly replace all of his thumbtacks, paperclips, etc with red ones. And if he ever said anything about it, we'd all just act like they'd always been red. And we were going to hide a loud clock in the ceiling above his chair, so every time he sat there, he'd just hear it ticking away.
We used to hide food in his chair so ants would come. Used to rearrange his papers. We fucked with him so much. Switch his paintings around. Stuff like that.
>>637404 Well, the thing is, after 6pm mon-fri and on the weekends, there was literally only one person in the entire office at any given time, and that's whoever was working. Which means there were no witnesses to whatever we did. We worked day shifts on the weekends and afternoon shifts a few times during the week. So we could do things two shifts throughout the week, which made it difficult for our boss to pinpoint who was doing anything. So we just kept fucking with him all the time, nonstop. It was really fun. Eventually we started going through all of our boss' emails and instant messages and we found out that one of our coworkers was his dog and was basically spying on us for him, so we started fucking with her, too. She just had a cubicle that she shared with some other people so it was hard, but we managed to plan some stuff, like hiding a thumbtack in the chair she used with the proper timing, or damaging her headset so it would break when she put it on and she'd have to pay the company for it.
It was a lot of fun. We caused a lot of trouble together.
