>Moreover, one of several Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 credit cookies set up a potential second team. There’s no law saying that a third Guardians movie can’t involve the outer-space adventures of Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar Ogord, Michael Rosenbaum’s Martinex, Ving Rhames’ Charlie-27 and Michelle Yeoh’s Aleta Ogord. Throwing those folks into the movie, along with Groot, Rocket and (if he renews his MCU contract) Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, would arguably yield a solid return no matter who wrote and directed it. >>548921 don't feel obligated to reciprocate what isn't important to you a lot of people speak with extra noise in their language or type in this case the noise adds character and tone but doesn't always mean a lot and usually in semi-professional things or things that aren't 100% casual, you're not meant to get on a conversational tangent from the noise it's just there take what's important to you from the message, e.g. being there at 8:00, and respond accordingly if a response is even necessary like what maria just said or "i'll be ready at 8" or whatever unless you're close friends with the landlord i dont think he's really wanting to take the extra time to reply again on some less relevant tangent may have just been warning you that there might be flexibility when something happens
i'd read into it maybe tone of light-hearted frustration about the gas engineer and to possibly expect that the timeline is loose and flexible and not strictly tight
or you could reply with "noon??! is that how long it takes him to suck his wife's dick? XD" and that way you'll never have to worry about getting superfluous texts again
Kannagi
I feel stupid for feeling so much anxiety for knowing how reply to the text message, I feel anxiety over how he might respond to expect me to respond. I haven't replied to him and I feel like so long has passed that it probably isn't a good idea to reply now. especially with it being so late.
月
it's cool that's why people text, because there's not urgency with it people are free to text back at their leisure ive had the same anxieties a lot i just kind of take out the human characteristics now and just think about it informatically there's some signal he wanted to send out just to alert you about the time pinging back with your own confirmation signal to close the channel is the lowest-energy solution
basically there's three things that could happen with a simple signal the receiver opposes it, accepts it, or doesn't respond if there's a problem with the time or w/e then you'd oppose it accepting it makes everything clear to both sides ignoring it is weighted towards accepting it because it's passive upon receiving the signal, but could be that they didn't receive it so in that case he'd probably ping you again when it's almost time
keep it simple and just text back "okay sounds good" or something and there's no confusion and no more worrying about it

kyaa a line i sent out like four weeks ago and had given up on just came back to me i might get to with substance /// get to work with substance abusers next semester and i might get paid for it kyaa kyaa kyaa
>>549519 Yeah, those bikes are pretty expensive, huh? I wonder what they cost used. I wonder what the mileage on them is like.
hmm Do Canadians and Europeans use the word mileage?
ToN
>>549518 yeah meat is telling me to go die and everything
ToN
oh that ayra is -atk/+spd but thats the only real issue i merged that hardin
now i just have to wait an hour or so to respond so i don't look like i'm constantly checking my work email during my vacation
Anno
>>549520 As far as I know, mileage is used universally in English-speaking countries, hah hah. Things might be measured in kilometres but as far as language goes, mile is pretty pervasive.
A quick look at bikes on Kijiji tells me I'd be paying ~900 CAD for used, unless I get one that needs battery replacement, and who knows how much that would cost. New ones are a couple thousand minimum. At that point I might just consider getting my motorcycle license and go for an electric scooter instead.
Either way that's all outside my price range at the moment.
>>549525 Wow, that's crazy steep. I wonder why it's so expensive.
FormerRei@mobile
Why don't you build your own?
FormerRei@mobile
Also that is a serious question, not a troll question. Its entirely feasible to do it for under $400. You can even do it for $100 if you're really cheap.
Anno
>>549529 Yeah, I dunno. Putting it through a currency conversion , the cheapest I can see are ~1200 USD, so maybe that's in part why it seems so. Some places even sell kits to convert a normal bike into an electric one, but those also seem to go for around 1500 CAD too.
Theres a live match of mahjong on. Its kinda interesting watching

At least there's an e-bike showroom or manufacturing outlet or something that's like a ten-minute walk from my place. So i guess if it ever enters my affordability range, aquiring one's pretty easy.
you gotta take what you can get the journey of a thousand miles is comprised of single steps!
月
>>549539 are you watching pro mahjong oh yeah, for sure professional play for anything is so tight and narrow that you usually dont have the space to make big plays with a very cheap hand you can move the dealer by ending the round without a dealer win or if you're the dealer, you can milk cheap hands over and over and deny anyone else the chance to score big
>>549539 as you get to higher levels of play speed becomes more and more important. A good amount of speed both wins you points and prevents others from winning points. Especially if you're in the lead. You don't want big hands, you just want to pass rounds as fast as possible. So damaten pinfu is very useful
FormerRei@mobile
Time to watch anime on my phone like a filthy fucking casual.
If I had simply minded my own business, I would have gotten away with doing absolutely no work and got paid. But even without doing that, I still made out better than half of my gang. The daily 10km walks I've been doing definitely helped make it easier.

>>549551 I've tried playing my Switch on the cardio bike I've got in my room. It's pretty difficult, yeah. Honesly would probably be easier to just hold a controller and play a game on a proper monitor.
I tried it with a monitor, but it was still no good. When things got tense, my legs stopped moving. Doubtless, I could have worked it out if I'd kept going, but it wasn't worth it, so I took up a book instead.
Anno
Yeah, when I tried it, I figured on top of the shakiness, trying to simultaneously do physically intense activity and precision intense activity wasn't something I could do on the spot. My brain had to pick between one or the other. Maybe it's a knack I could pick up with training, but eh.
Yeah. Reading while cycling was much easier. I must say, though, I guess I haven't fully recovered from my concussion because I was tired out very easily. Well, not quite tired out, but rather, it's more like my energy wasn't being spent efficiently. I'll have to ease myself back into exercising.
>>549579 man when that happens in akagi with the hell wait on the wei i always thought that whole segment was like unbelievable circumstances just for plot but the more mahjong i played the more tangible his reasoning felt in predicting some kans and stuff it's so beautifully written

I see, my mother has ordered herself some chinese delivery. It's pouring rain
>>549584 Honestly, I don't think most people running delivery jobs are gonna be cursing the people that make them do deliveries in rainstorms. That's kind of implicit in the job.
I'm playing the YuYuYu mobage and Togo and Sonochii just got to meet their past selves and Gin and they got all emotional and it made me get all emotional because Gin is fucking dead
It's sad, but it's happy. Because they get to see their precious friend again. Stuff like that makes me so emotional, I tear up like a little anime girl.

they're two instances of the same person one is an instance taken from roughly 2 years prior to the older instance

some random guy at the shop stopped me to give me advice on buying peaches
Anno
What advice did he give you?
Kirara 🚗
to leave my peaches out on the counter overnight so they will be sweeter and then put them in the fridge
Anno
Oh yeah he's spot on there. Peaches ripen the best when you leave them out. 'Course you've got to eat them before they go bad, but they're way better.
Kirara 🚗
I've never put them in the fridge haha I go through them pretty quickly I didn't realize people usually put them in the fridge
Anno
We've never, with maybe the exception of "literally no one is going to eat these and it's better to refridgerate them instead of letting them go bad". And even then I doubt it's ever happened. There's some really good peaches grown 'round here, so they never last long in our house.
FormerRei@mobile
Peaches come in cans.

They had peanuts on sale when I went to the shop earlier. That's not exactly a rare occasion by a long shot but it made me also pleasantly surprised.
月
the gas station across the street where i buy smokes and energy drinks at has bags of fresh peanuts all the time i always look at them but i never get them i just went there a moment ago too and was thinking about them so that's a little coincidental
Anno
The ones I got certainly weren't fresh, it was a jar of honey-roasted peanuts. Fresh ones are bit too messy of a snack for me when I'm at home. If I'm off in the woods or at the cottage or something though, I'm happy to take several handfuls.
Also the joke is that it is currently unknown whether or not there are any odd perfect numbers. Where a perfect number is a positive integer for which the sum of its proper divisors is equal to itself. For example 6 is perfect because 1+2+3 = 6
that whole Twitter account is so cursed so cursed i can't even watch half the videos
FormerRei@mobile
Another fun thing about perfect numbers is that given a perfect number n, the sum of the reciprocals of its divisors is 2. So for 6 1/1 +1/2 +1/3 +1/6 = 2

Samuel L. Jackson's gonna be in the upcoming Spider- Spider-Man movie. Guess we're getting a bunch more Nick Fury.
Kirara 🚗
yeah they can't kill him off permanently Samuel L Jackson is legally obligated to have an opportunity to be in every Marvel movie
FormerRei@mobile
Sweet
Kirara 🚗
not legally obligated
Marvel is legally obligated to give Jackson a chance to be in every Marvel movie, is what I mean.
Anno
I didn't know it was that thorough. I thought he was just allowed to always be Nick Fury if he wants to.
Kirara 🚗
it's due to a lw suit settlement part of the terms was that he can pretty much be in every marvel movie but ive heard he's a pretty good sport about it and doesn't push they write him in enough for him to have fun and that's enough for him
FormerRei@mobile
It's federal law.
FormerRei@mobile
Kirara, do you know about triangular numbers?
Kirara 🚗
nope
Anno
>>549670 Yeah, I knew about the lawsuit. I just thought it was only regarding Nick Fury. I wonder what they would have done if he put is foot down and wanted to be in GotG or Ragnarok.
FormerRei@mobile
They're really cool. The nth triangular number is equal to the sum of all integers from 1 to n. So they go , 1,3,6,10 ...
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
>tilde survives with 4 hp again stop getting hit!
FormerRei@mobile
But you can actually calculate the nth triangular number without adding up from one to n. The formula is n(n+1)/2
Anno

Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
You're better at casting when you're not dead
FormerRei@mobile
They're called triangular numbers because if you arrange dots (or stones or whatever) in the dhape of an equilateral triangle you'll always have a triangular number of them.
Are you fine with my powergaming your subclass to be Imperial They use giant swords to do elemental slices but they have passives that would greatly benefit you

It's similar to square numbers being the number of dots you need to arrange in order to male a square shape.
Anno
>>549682 It's your game, man, you do what you want. I don't know anything about the Etrian Odyssey class specifics and details, so there isn't any reason I'd be offended by a choice made.
That's fortunate for me. I partly want to make that decision because despite being a WIZARD I'm somehow out DPS-ing you and I think that's not ok, especially sinceI have lower TP/MP costs
And we can extend this idea of polygonal numbers into the third dimension.
For tetrahedral numbers the nth tetrahedral number is equal to the sum of the first n triangular numbers. They're called tetrahedral because if you stack them (like in the picture) you get a tetrahedron.
>>549700 Yeah But some of these numbers come up a lot in certain types of math problems. So thats why people noted them down in the first place. Same with basically every named thing in mathematics. If a number comes up enough we give it a name. Like pi or e or phi. Same with equations too.
Kirara 🚗
are they used in something practical?
FormerRei@mobile
They come up in combinatromics.
FormerRei@mobile
I remember triangular numbers coming up in calculus. And then all sorts of them will come up in discrete math.
Anno
Rainy night again. Seems like it'll be rainy all week. Rainy summer evenings are pretty nice though.
>>549707 Here's an example of a combinatronics problem. There are ten people in a room and everyone shakes everyone else's hand, how many handshakes happened in total in the room?
FormerRei@mobile
The answer is 45 by the way. 45 happens to be the tenth triangular number. Because each person shakes the hands of nine other people and ... >>549713 But basically conbinatronics is about working out the number of possible combinations given a number of items and a rule for how to choose them.
