No point arguing whether hurting the others because they prevented her to see hiro was wrong. What could be considered wrong is using Hiro only to become more human, loading to Hiro dying or changing (whatever). //leading to Hiro dying

imagine how much better things would be if people had called it climate change from the start instead of global warming
FormerRei@mobile
I'm pretty sure they did. But it still is global warming. It's not that the temperature everywhere is increasing, its that the global average temperature is increasing.
Well, in the 60s, global warming wasn't a thing i mean it was, but people didn't know about it I mean in the 70s, there was the big GLOBAL COOLING scare
>>474017 I didn't hear it consistently get called climate change until more recently.
I think it being called global warming is part of why it's not so widely accepted. People remember the global cooling scare and don't trust it because they're not scientifically literate and it looks like the scientists don't know what they're talking about to them.
Arisu
>>474016 I don't get why it gets called GW tho. but it's not a bad name, the warming implies there has to be a colding as well. it's the average temp as you say yeah. and stuff like melting of ice caps
The people old enough to remember that are often the ones that think global warming is a hoax in my limited observations, at least
Anno
Honestly the average rising temperatures are only a factor. The real damage is the considerable changes in biome regions of the world, the fact that if it continues, there may be irreversible changes done to those climates. So climate change is a more appropriate term for the big picture.
Arisu
Kirara do you have an opinion on cuba's current situation? they are picking this new guy who is not a blood relative of fidel.
Well I mean "climate change" is a lot less interesting at a glance than "global warming" So I guess if you're writing an article, you wanna go with that, or if you're pitching something for funding, you wanna call it that
Wellcom to de_hellworld
FormerRei@mobile
>>474024 Global average temperature is the easiest way of representing it. We don't have units (afaik) for biome disruption. And I think you're forgetting that the climate change is caused by the global average temperature change in the first place.

Kirara 🚗

> As a result of Chávez's policies and Maduro's continuation of them, Venezuela's socioeconomic status declined, with crime, inflation, poverty and hunger increasing.[9][10][11][12] lol wikipedia this is so biased chavez's policies weren't that bad and venezuela wasn't that bad under chavez a big part of why their economy crashed is because the US destabilized the oil market
Arisu
venezuela was basically a raw resource exporter they only relied on exports and after chavez the other nations stopped buying them. >>474033 fun how the venezuela thing happened in late 90s and americas invasion of the ME happened in early 00s...

I think Maduro is smart enough to avoid messing with Trump too much Trump doesn't have a lot of financial incentive to go destroy Venezuela since he doesn't have any businesses there or anything as far as I know most of the countries he's gone after are places he has businesses or wants businesses

Somebody from a class or something before mine had drawn up a pretty good Alphonse Elric on the room's whiteboard. And since it was exam day my professor never erased it. Or maybe he drew it and he's a secret weeb. Tangentially, it's always a little weird to me how pervasive Full Metal Alchemist is amongst western weeaboos. Even Brotherhood was like, seven or eight years ago.
Yeah, I don't mean it's a hot topic of discussion anymore. But you ask the average age 20-30 weeb to list some of their favourite anime, and I feel FMA is bound to come up a large amount of the time.
Even my imouto, who's still a teenager, admits to have watched it like six or seven times.
>>474214 True. It's still number 4 on MAL. I think it's still so pervasive because it's a really good entry level show. I think that's the same reason why Death Note's been able to remain so popular for so long. When someone's getting into anime and asks for reccomendations they're usually given those two shows
FormerRei@mobile
Confession time I never actually finished the original series.
>>474215 Yeah I don't mean to imply it's undeserving of its pervasiveness. It's a solid, self-contained story that doesn't drag on too much. But it's still a little peculiar.
