Because it's a sort of dumb absurdity and the game is difficult but understandable. Japanese people love those kinds of games.

Getting over it is good. that's why It's popular, period. My sister, when she was with her previous boyfriend, got both a cat and a dog, the dog being this German shepherd/other energetic, active style dog mix. She lived in an apartment, and while that wasn't be best, she or her boyfriend could manage to take the dog out for a few walks a day to satiate his needs. But then they broke up and between school, work, and her needs she couldn't walk the dog as often as it needs for its lifestyle. It worked out because we've got a good house and plenty of nearby walking area and plenty of people to walk it, but really. It feels like she either didn't care that she might not eventually be unable to care for it and just wanted a dog for the sake of having a dog, or she was so convinced in the enduring relationship she had that it wouldn't be an issue. That sort of thing really gets me annoyed

>>388373 Victorian London is still my favourite set piece of the series, but Egypt has been pretty good too. It's in the Ptolomeic dynasty, about thirty years BCE, so much of the stuff of Egyptian fame is kind of passed. The map is huge, and a lot of it is desert, so there's going to be massive patches of dead space. But it is really pretty dead space. They do a really good job of showing that Egypt is more than just massive dunes of shifting sand. There's also plenty of fast travel points and you can even set your horse or camel or boat to auto-pilot you along roads to get to your destination, so there's a bit of an aspect of "sit back and enjoy the scenery" to going from place to place.
It's a bit more of a n RPG than Assassin's Creed games have been in the past; you see much more of the numbers involved in health and weapon damage, and they've expanded the weapon arsenal massive to cover a variety of weapons each with their own passive bonuses to fighting. It's much more varied than the three stat values of weapons in Syndicate, and all weapons can scale if you have the money to upgrade them, so you're free to pick and choose what suits you best. The combat is a bit more technical than Syndicate, though still not particularly complex, but if you play on the harder difficulties you'll definitely want to make use of dodging and blocking and weapon specials. It makes for somewhat more engaging/threatening fights at least.

I don't consider ADHD and autism to be disorders. They're only considered disorders because society refuses to accommodate for completely natural deviations in neurological functioning.
FormerRei@mobile
>>388853 I get your point But in some cases there's really know way to do that Particularly with low functioning autism *no way
>>388864 for example, you can say "these trees are natural" and it's not wrong but if you say "it's natural that it would happen like that", the context of the statement and the way the word is used are different
saying that something is a naturally occurring deviation is different from saying that something like a disorder is natural the context of the first statement is that there's an inherent element to it, that these people are born with different traits
>>388865 It kind of sounds like it's being used as a near-synonym for "normal" here but "normal" isn't being used because it's an obviously weighted word that has difficult to remove connotations when it comes to psychiatry.
sort of "normal" neurological functioning is generally referred to as "neurotypical" while things like ADHD are called "neurodivergent" well, those aren't actually psychiatric words. those are the words used by people that want to discuss things as if they aren't diseases.
psychiatry just divides things into "normal" and "disordered" and disordered is anything that strays from the norm and causes a lowered level of functioning the problem with that is that many times, like with ADHD, the lowered level of functioning is artificially created by the environment because these people aren't suited for the environment everyone is forced into if you put them into a better environment, they thrive it's like putting short people into a basketball game full of people that are 190cm tall
so ADHD is a naturally occurring deviation from what's "typical" but it's only a "disorder" because society desperately ensures that it is (through carelessness)
Anno
And like with short people, eventually it might get so far off the norm that there isn't really a logistical solution to creating an environment they can ably function in. People that are legal dwarfs or suffer some physical deformity that leaves them at an extremely short height.
the people that are "divergent" are ignored because it's not cost-effective to accommodate for them so it becomes "disorder" because the world is basically rigged against them
Anno
>>388867 Honestly I had to get up from my desk at "like with ADHD" here and as I was getting my tea I was thinking "it's like how you can't blame a short person for being too short in an environment that has been tailored for people of average height; you can't blame ADHD/autistic people for being too X in an environment not suited for them." It's funny how close the analogies ended up.
I guess that just means it's a good analogy, haha.
This is all different from something like PTSD which is "natural" in that it's not artificial or manufactured, but it's not a difference in traits that just occurs. It's something that's imposed on the system, basically.
Maybe they had a change of writing team? Or just flat out ran out of good ideas
Anno
I have zero investment in Black Mirror and I won't be arsed to track where I found this but I heard before the series started the main writer was dealing with a rough situation that probably messed with his mental outlook on life, and that provided a lot of fuel for the material. But by the end of the third season he was in a much better spot in life so it might just be he doesn't have the same focus to produce the content needed for Black Mirror anymore.
Kirara 🚗

But is great shame since gore can add to horror and found footage can be a real damn good format like say hmm what was taht australian movie called "Tunnel" it had the whole movie narrated in a documentary about their documentary abotu the tunnels with some interviewer interviewing the survivors while some short or longer shots of what they filmed was played in the middle it was really made well and made you sit through the movie, though you knew who would live and who wouldn't

I haven't done BHB yet. I don't think I'll make 99999 points this time either. Guantlet and Tempest being at the same time kinda tired me out.
Not that preference isn't a thing but I think it's a little amusing that you'll grind FEH to heck and back but won't work on granblue weapon grids. Though at least with tempest there's a finite number you're working towards and guaranteed to get closer every time
Anno
>>388985 yes, that is how it works when you choose an orb, you're actually paying the orb cost to uncover the veil and see what the prize is but when the board is constructed, the rolls are made and heroes already decided this really changes the way odds work as opposed to just picking an orb and supposing you have a 3% chance of it being a focus unit
Anno
>>388986 FEH really upped their game it's such a standout mobagay since they started plumping up its content
>>388986 But FEH is not that grindy compared to granblue. Tempest rewards really stop at 40k anyway, and anything past that is just bonus. 40k is really easy to get.
Granblue weapon grid grinding takes effectively forever. You people who have been playing forever are still grinding weapon grids.
Once you get the base grid going your element grid is at least usable. So there's the benefit of incomplete grids still being usable while you work on them.
Yeah, usable for what? I'm asking this question knowing the answer The answer is that it's usuable so you can grind more. That's the problem with granblue, you grind to grind more.

>>388991 My earth grid isn't even fully SL'd but I was able to do guild wars. which is admittedly a grind fest. I enjoy the story events usually though
>>388993 I haven't tried it yet. I'm sure I will use her when I clear it though.
>>388992 Yes and that is why I'm not very motivated, because the only thing you really need to have a super high grid for is guild wars. Which is just a contest to see if you can grind harder than other people.
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
True, guidl wars is dumb! Useful rewards though.
The new hardest fight in the game they added is interesting in that you have to have a different kind of grid to do it reasonably. So it's neat.
It's aimed at people who are at endgame grinding and everything clearly though
there's not enough time in the world for MMOs i loved em when i was a teenager but who can afford that kind of time now
Maria
I've never enjoyed an MMO It always just feels like a grind with combat that's not even fun I might as well just post on the internet since that's like an mmo without grinding
If I ever pick up another MMO, I can't pick it up with friends. They never stick with games I enjoy. Enjoying games with them is hard. Or maybe the problem is me.
>>389008 the way for that to work really is just to play a game and, over time, meet people who kind of have the same schedule it doesn't work too well to coordinate outside of it, especially for a game like an mmo where you more or less gotta be the same level
To invite any of you to this watching is to put you all on an indefinite hiatus. As one of them is a student with a normal schedule, another is a night worker with an irregular schedule, and I am soon to be working graveyard shifts from 22-6 It is unlikely that we'll be able to do this watching, let alone do the GW2 Living Story together.
>>389024 It was fun I use them as birthday cards sometimes
Anno
>>389020 Oh well that sucks. Hopefully one of the site staff that's backing up the content ends up making a palatable new site. Wouldn't blame any of them for choosing not to though.
>when you try to stick your neck out to help someone out and they fuck it up and make obviously fake excuses and ask you to let your higher-ups know it wasn't their fault sigh
>Walk into house >We forgot to leave any lights on so it's pitch dark >fish says we should have left lights on >"It's fine, I can see." >immediately knock something over >fish: "snrk"
>>389035 tryin to help someone get hired send them the link to a 15 minute test if you don't submit it in 15 minutes you can't submit it instead of just submitting what they had done like a proper person, they took who knows how long to finish it and then gave me the ol' "It gave me an error and i couldn't upload it but here's the test" and it's so polished that they clearly spent an hour+ doing research on the topic and reviewing it there's a reason the test is only 15 minutes don't fuck with me i don't owe you shit
>>389044 i mean researching terminology and stuff like that that occurs during the test So, you've got 15 minutes to transcribe a three minute audio file and submit it they didn't get it done in that 15 minutes, but sent it to me the next morning saying they couldn't upload it, but "here it is" it wouldn't be a worthwhile test if they had an hour or longer to research terminology, review, and edit
Anno
>>389046 I think I get the picture. The excuse is really reminscent of high school-era excuses trying to dodge homework deadlines.
When I tested myself on a thirteen-minute audio file yesterday I finished it in sixty-seven minutes, which puts me just under the time window a test like that gives. Plus it was something I had listened to before, albeit months ago, so it's not like it was perfectly fresh. I've got an hour-long something I want to test myself on and see if I can improve my ratio.
>>389038 This used to happen to me all the time in my previous place I could practically walk the place blindfolded, but my roomie always moved some or other chair which I then struck my foot upon quite painfully when sneaking into the kitchen etc during night
>>389047 if you're serious about maybe wanting to learn, I'd suggest registering on transcriptionessentials.com they've got a forum and they're a special kind of anal retentive you'll have to wait to verify and give your reasoning for making an account that you want to learn the industry but somewhere in there, there's a compendium of practice files for working on and a whole wealth of knowledge
>>389051 They're a little intimidating; I'd be lying if I said I wasn't cowed by the preface they've got going on.
Between my general apathy towards most things and my reservations about jumping into a new skill or trade it's really hard to say if I think I'm serious about it or not. I think it's something I -could- do. Within the practice I ran I found I could maintain focus and didn't get frustrated or bored. But that was with not even fifteen minutes of audio and I'm not sure how it would go with hours of audio per day. It feels like I overthink whether or not I can or should do things way more than others and maybe this applies but I don't really know how to think in any other way .
>>389065 well i dont wanna pressure you one way or another i just wanted to let you know about the hiring thing >>389067 that's what im tryna do but it's hard sometimes it's rainin and cold outside and i'm indoors with a heating pad and some hot tea to sooth me achin bones though so i am at least taking it a little bit easy
Anno
Yeah, I never mentioned that I'm grateful for that. Thanks. I'd like a job that lets me work from a desk instead of on a production line and from home is even better. But I don't know deep down if that's just an extension of my desire to be lazy in life or if it's something I can forge into a serious work ethic and produce decent and timely work. And precedence tends to lean towards the prior so it's doubly concerning.
I don't really want to work tomorrow, but at the same time I'm not really doing anything with my weekend and just sitting around looking at the internet and listening to music. I guess it's good to be unproductive sometimes.
Anno
That's one of the things that kinds of digs me about my job at the brewery. I'm on my feet for usually eight hours at least, pretty much constantly doing labour that ranges from breezy to exhausting. By the time I get home at the end of the day, and on weekends after multiple days of shifts in a row. I'm so exhausted that I can't really bring myself to do much more intense than playing video games. And that leaves a building frustration in me because I LIKE creating things. I want to make things. And being so tired in my free time that I can't do that is incredibly frustrating for me.
I don't feel like going back to school yet. I have class at like 9am! I have class from like 9-5 on Mondays.
One of my intakes got canceled this week, though, so I only have a four hour therapy dealio this week,
Anno
I thought my night school classes would resume this upcoming week but apparently it's next week so I've been able to procrastinate choosing courses for even longer than I already have. I don't know if that's a good thing or not but in the end I really don't know what I want to pick to fill three slots with that I'm confident I'll be able to get good results in.
But it's impossible to explain that concern to my parents because they insist "just pick whatever it will be fine" and nothing I say seems to properly convey the gravity of my insecurity in picking something I can't get properly invested into and failing to achieve a passing mark, let alone good grades.
Anno
I think I'm on a bit of a panic and worrying track tonight.
Hm. The site I usually use to check the Canadian Netflix catalogue doesn't show it, but it's a Netflix-produced show and Wikipedia said it was released globally. Should be up there.
Kirara 🚗
HorribleSubs ripped it and it's on nyaa, so if it's not on Canada Netflix for some reason, there's always that.
Anno
Yeah, I saw. I'll fall back to that if it isn't up for some illogical reason. Would rather watch it through Netflix because supporting weeaboo content is important.
Kirara 🚗
Yeah, agreed. We just finished episode 2. I approve of the quality and translations so far.
there's some good hiphop rappy shit goin on too
Kirara 🚗
it's got Kenjiro Tsuda in it i've had a new appreciation for him since xenoblade 2
Kirara 🚗
KENJIRO TSUDA VOICES KYLO REN IN THE JAPANESE DUBS OF STAR WARS HAHA
Anno
It's like pottery.
Anno
Know what might be fun? Watching the new Star Wars movies with the Japanese dub. Maybe probably subtitles since I don't think the Japanese would be rudimentary enough for understanding.
>>389096 I think it's that Instagram brand camera.
>>389095 Yeah, me neither. I might get a subscription to it, though, once they do that. I'll be sure to share it if I get a subscription.
Anno
I remember seeing that Hulu/Spotify was doing a five dollar/month special on both services together for students a while back. But I don't know if it's still going on and if that's an enduring price or a time-limited special.
I'd be happy to take that money off your hands if you don't want it.

>>389100 https://www.nowinstock.net/computers/videocards/nvidia/gtx1080ti/ I used the Canadian version of this site when I was waiting to pounce on my 1070 and my Switch.
>>389110 I could have one right now if I were to bludgeon it with money, too! The problem is that stingy is one of my subtypes. I must get it at as low a price as possible, even if I can afford the high price!
A lot of them get really full of themselves and start looking down on people from "lesser" universities. And they all love to rub their expensive education in people's faces.
My friend was on the cusp of being difficult to be around already even though we got along pretty well she'll probably come out pretty annoying
I know an ivy league guy who is a really good guy. I think he's always been a weirdo and a loner and was like that in college, though. He ended up in a weird place in life too, he like runs a bar and also works as a sports photographer. Not what you'd expect from an ivy league grad.
wasn't even that bad a guy, but he never shoke off that "i am elite" attidute which got him a lot of shit over the years in the end. >>389153 >>389147 that doesn't sound that bad wouldn't do it myself, but
Anno
>>389147 That sounds kind of gross. What are you doing with your life.
bangu~
it's not gross it's delicious it's like dipping 5 cookies into milk
>>389148 Well, high end educational programs are a lot like boot camp. They try to break you down and reprogram you. That stuff is really effective against normies, but usually doesn't work on offbeat people.
bangu~
imagine the first guy who was like "let's crack open this chicken's egg onto hot oil" and some dude was like "bruh"
>>389165 I had an opportunity to go to an ivy league school but I wasn't really interested. It's so stupid. My school wants to reprogram me, too, but I'm too strong for something like that.
You and your private education stuff though I did enroll in high school that could be considered "elite" since ith had like hmm 8,9/10 grade average to pass into
>>389166 I don't know if it's a matter of strength. Schools usually do that by beating people down and reshaping them when they're at a low. That's how boot camp works too. Grad school definitely put me down in the dumps, my grades were a disaster my first semester. I've seen you pretty low too.
The difference between normies and offbeat people is that offbeat people deal with the stress differently so they don't get reshaped.
>>389168 Yeah, the army tried to do that to me offbeat is kind of an understatement for me it wasn't very effective a lot of people were crying and having breakdowns and all sorts of weird stuff and i felt like i was at a summer camp having fun it was much less fun since the people were miserable to be around but it was actually less stressful than being at home
