It's an open world game but it looks so polished. There are incredible webms of the stuff you can do.
Like you can chop down a tree and it will fall with physics and everything and you can use it as a bridge to get somewhere. Or you can set stuff on fire and hurt enemies
Anno
There's one really cool clip I saw. You set the grass on fire while riding your horse, which creates heat updrafts. Then jump off your horse and use your magic bedsheet to catch the updrafts into the air, where you can then slow time for a brief moment, get out your bow, and land a bird's-eye snipe on the opponent. There's so many style points in that combo that it's amazing.
The game has pretty much already sold me on an early purchase. My hindrance is more I can't really lay down the price of the system plus game without getting a job right now. So I'm going to need to secure that first.
Anno
I don't generally like open world games but I'll end up playing it one way or another thanks to my sisters

FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
Any of you nerds want to talk about D&D?
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
Oh yeah I just remembered something. SK, I went through a few boxes of CD's and I did not find that Mindless Self Indulgence promo CD. There's a decent chance my mom threw it out sometime in the last 10 years. I haven't gone through all our music though so I don't know for sure that we do not have it. If I find it I'll rip it and upload for you ASAP though.
As far as Sabaton goes, I like most of their music, but Heroes and Last Stand are easily my favorite albums They're both loaded with really good songs, and I'm a bit of a sucker for albums with a theme
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
If Last Stand is the one I'm thinking of I've probably heard it like 12 times in the past year and a half. Not of my own volition mind you.
『sk』
>>38803 It's the last one The Last Stand, the song, is fantastic, too, but I meant the album in its entirety
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
>>38804 Yeah I meant the album, also I just read that it came out in August so I have heard it like 12 times since it came out.
Other than that, though, I checked out Run The Jewels and some other musicc in that sort of area Can't say I'm a fan, but some of it was kinda OK
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
I can't remember the names of any of their songs or what they sound like but I'm pretty sure I've heard them and thought they were okay. You listen to much classic rock, or alternatively did you ever listen to much classic rock?
『sk』
I'm not very good with genres, but I listen to a lot of different stuff
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
Do you prefer to listen to entire albums or do you make playlists on a song by song basis?
『sk』
I usually listen to albums from start to finish first, but then I pick the stuff I like and I have a playlist of just songs I really like I need to trim that one a bit I think, though
Naw, I just have two speakers, each half the size of one of my monitors, and a small sub in the middle
I have a real sound system in the living room though
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
I usually listen to music on my computer, but I have a stereo set up in the basement. I've got a turntable and a 5 disc CD changer and the receiver. I don't have a tape deck anymore though. I have a decent sized vinyl collection but since I opened up the boxes of CDs I've been listening to a lot of those recently.
Most of the time the music is just too loud and stuff You just get the bass and most other things aren't clear enough
Bad sound management can ruin music really bad
The pink floyd thing, you couldn't hear the vocals very well >>38823 Even other gatherings where there's music, it tends to just be loud and not at a level where you can enjoy it properly
Some music that I like you kinda need a headset to properly enjoy anyway
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
>>38822 >Most of the time the music is just too loud and stuff You've only been to two concerts so I don't think you can draw any real conclusions for that. I won't deny bad sound management being able to ruin concerts. But you would probably be surprised at how well it can sound when its done right.
I used to really love techno music, and I mean I still do, but I think techno music has moved a lot from what it was when I got into it I realize it's a big genre, but I mean the subgenres that I enjoyed aren't really alive anymore or something I stumble into much >>38826 A little bit, but not exceptionally They have some good music, but a lot of obnoxious stuff too
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
>>38825 Do you like the Chemical Brothers at all? I have this 20 year old remix album by them that I just unpacked. Also I mainly listen to music from ten or more years ago. Not that I don't listen to any new stuff, but I just mainly listen to older music. There's not really any thing wrong with listening to dead genres or subgenres.
『sk』

Oh yeah I'm going to post a brief list of bands I like that I think you may have heard of, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me which bands you like (or dislike) and which of them you are not familiar with. Ideally the optimal format for a response would be in the form "yes, no, not familiar" or whatever in the order I list them.
Talking Heads, Sonic Youth, Black Flag, Public Image Limited, Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, Devo, U2, Electric Light Orchestra, Ministry, The Pixies, The Smiths, They Might Be Giants, XTC
『sk』
heard of but never listened to never heard of it same same same same same don't like them much no clue who they are same same heard of but never listened to Listened to, sorta liked it but it's kinda eh, too I like XTC, they're pretty good
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
>>38834 XTC is one of my favorite bands, well actually all those bands I listed are also among my favorite bands. But I'm more surprised you are familiar with them considering all the stuff on that list you aren't familiar with.
『sk』
I like Lords of Acid a bit, but they're kind of unique
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
Oh and on the subject of U2, their older stuff is a lot different from the sort of stuff they've been doing for the last 15 years. I don't really like their new stuff that much but I do like their old stuff. Also a few of the bands on that list you probably have heard stuff by, like in movies and stuff. Have you seen Fight Club?
『sk』
I might have, but I wouldn't know, at least
『sk』
Yeah, I saw fight club
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
The song 'This Monkey's Gone to Heaven" is by the Pixies. Devo is the band that did the song "Whip it" and also "We're through being cool", the main dude from Devo did the music for the Lego movie. Electric Light Orchestra is the band that did
『sk』
Oh, powerman5k has a cover of Whip It
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs

FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
Of those bands the ones that I (and many other people who like music) consider the most important would probably be in order Talking Heads, The Smiths, Sonic Youth and The Pixies. In terms of influence and stuff.
I've been thinking of listening to some Talking Heads, actually, because I heard it mentioned somewhere yesterday I thin k
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
I would recommend starting with Remain in Light. Also just for reference Talking Heads are called "Talking Heads" not "the Talking Heads", the main dude from the band is probably autistic and they even released an album called "The Name of This Band is Talking Heads". For the *The Smiths I would recommend listening to "The Queen is Dead" first. The Smiths actually only have four albums so it wouldn't take you very long to listen to all of them but The Queen is Dead is their best. For Sonic Youth I recommend listening to Daydream Nation. I'm going to need a few minutes to decide which Pixies album to recommend. (They are called Pixies but its okay to refer to them as The Pixies)
I'll write it down, but I dunno when I'll get around to it I like listening to new music, but I need to find a good time for it
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
Okay for the Pixies I'd recommend Trompe le Monde. Also I would like to add that of those four bands that I decided to recommend albums from, all of them have at least one album on Pitchfork's Best 100 albums of the 1980's list. >>38848 never heard of them
Remain in Light was ranked 2/100, Daydream Nation was ranked 1/100 and The Queen is Dead was ranked 6/100. I don't consider Pitchfork to be like "the word of god" when it comes to music, but generally any rankings they have (especially for much older music) are taken very seriously.
I think I've heard some of their stuff, but it doesn't ring a bell
TN !PcAPtAiNJo

FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
Actually I just thought of a good idea, sk would you be willing to listen to one song from each of those albums right now?
FormerRei !GURPSRWiTs
Oh and for reference I would be picking the songs.
Tell me when you're done and I'll post the next one, oh and if you feel like watch the video too instead of just listening. Talking Heads' had some pretty cool videos considering when their videos came out.>>38874 the video was done in like 1980 or 1981 by the way.

Emotions are pretty personal, where as actual events are kind of a degree or more further of familiarity.
Tony do you think with the pacing the anime is going for Zestiria right now, if they can wrap up the game's plot by the end of the season? It doesn't feel to me like they're even remotely near the conclusion of the series.

One problem I// Oh okay that's fair The battle system doesn't function well for casters. I forgot about that.

The technology gap between consoles and handhelds has probably narrowed a fair bit since then, but it will be nice to finally get a Story of Seasons game that doesn't have absolutely ugly environmental textures. And maybe they'll bring back the tiered mines again. I want them to bring back the tiered mines again.

It's a super nice deal for me, since Disgaea 5 is also coming out for it. And I've always preferred being able to play Disgaea games on handhelds. I haven't watched the Symphonia animations, so I can't really speak of them. But Lloyd has a LOT of character development in Symphonia. He starts off as this dumb brat that can't do anything without fucking up everything. And as the game progresses he collides with a lot of problems because of that. But throughout the collisions he gains polish and maturity and by the end of the series is a very respectable character. And I think the fact that he's a bit of a little shit at the start of the series makes that payoff all the better.
Talesof !NuKeSlvmWE
Symphonia anime is alright, but they take a lot of liberties. But the pacing is a lot better.

Luke literally goes so full retard that an actual thousand people die

Luke is also spoiled royalty though so it gives him more reason to be a brat.

>>39220 Kind of? It's more that he goes around acting like "MY IDEA OF JUSTICE IS RIGHT AND YOU ALL ARE TERRIBLE PEOPLE FOR NOT AGREEING WITH ME." I think one of the major themes of Symphonia is that justice and righteousness is incredibly nuanced and that it's only through collusion and consideration that an actually fair and just world view can be achieved.
Admittedly several of those people are doing really bad things and calling it justice.

Funimation was trying to get Kimi no na wa into the Oscars but they didn't have any dice. I don't think it would have stood a chance against Zootopia in the end, but it would have been nice to see it get in.
>>39374 SK you're starting to do that thing again. Where you harp on and on and on about something and it begins to lose any real context for the people around you.
My s key in't responing. Oddddddk Oh woah. My wasd keys and my arrow keys have swapped functionality. I now type with the arrow keys and move my text cursor with the wasd keys.
>>39397 A show that a major and some times overwhelming theme of, is to present cute girls to the viewer. I don't see it as an inherently bad thing, but when it overwhelms all other aspects of the show, it gets kind of uninteresting.
Effie and Nino are both really good. Felicia is only okay but she's cute. Setsuna is average and not that cute.
But mostly I need an Effie to round out my team, and if I get a 5 star Nino I can upgrade my Nino and make her awesome.
Anno
I guess I wouldn't mind Setsuna, she's cute and I don't have any cute archers. But I already have Felicia and Gwendolyn kind of fills the same role Effie would for me. And Julia's a cuter green mage than Nino.
>>39513 another legal weed bill is going before my state's house soon proclaiming that weed is basically a gift from god because god made it and we should be allowed to smoke whatever we want
it's made by some tea party dude it's a fucking stupid angle

>>39571 The National Debt being high or low isn't inherently a good or bad thing. People really shouldn't read too much into the numbers--it isn't any sort of indication of something like they think it may be. Nor should he be popping champagne over it.
>>39573 What he said is true, but we don't agree it's important so he's mostly lying.
Anno
It's not necessarily important though. And may be actually a bad thing for the nation. >>39576 If he's construing it as a positive influence created by his administration, yes.
Sk phone
Which makes it mostly untrue?
Anno
More so the concepts of national debt are incredibly nuanced and his administration may not even be responsible for this change.
Sk phone
So if the opposition says something about the Trump administration that could be seen as positive, they're lying? "Donald Trump has deported x amount of immigrants." The numbers are correct but it may be a good thing, so mostly untrue
How about fact checkers stick to facts and leave interpretation of it to sources not claiming to be objective
Maria
National debt is a clusterfuck to figure out. That's your biggest safeguard against it.
Anno
>>39578 Are you intentionally being stupid or is this just because you're in a pissy mood.
Sk phone
I am in a pissy mood, yes, but that's unrelated. When you say something isn't true because it's supported by facts but experts say it means something other than what the one who said it thinks it means, you're first of all completely removing the meaning of "true", and most importantly lying outright
Anno
Okay, check back in when you're not in a pissy mood.
Anno
>>39580 What's stupid about it? It's true, though it doesn't really matter that it's gone down, but they said it's mostly false. I don't get it.
Anno
Because it's mostly false that it's a good thing. Calling it a good thing is completely baseless.
Sk phone
>>39584 Which isn't part of the statement being fact checked He's implying it's good, and it's fine to address that, but it's not part of the statement, which itself is completely true
If I say Jews own a lot of stuff, I'm not lying just because it's not an inherent part of being a jew. They do You can discuss the implications of it all you want, but the fact remains true
Anno
>>39584 Oh, they called it a good thing? All I've seen is the screenshot there.
