Oh Kirara did you sample your cartridge for taste?
First thing I do when start playing is jump on the heads of anything animate that crosses my path. And then try to get the perfect camera angle and timing to make it look like Mario is riding a frog.
Are the grip assists the little rope ones? I was using those. The game told me not to play with the frame because it would limit me.
Anno
Yeah, the ones you slide into the back end of the controller.
Yeah I saw that too. The add-ons are nice and fill out the individual joycons to fit the hand better. Plus the strap's useful for, y'know, not accidentally flinging one of them across the room if you get too much into the game. I just remember trying to get them attached with Jan and you in a hotel room and almost getting it jammed irreversibly on there.
Kirara🎃
Yeah, I put the wrong one on first and it was hard to get off haha
So mario uses the locational stuff on the joycons?
Kirara🎃
Yeah for hat throwing and stuff. It's pretty fun.
Anno
As long as there's a way to re-create a single move using more generic controller mechanics, you lose nothing in terms of game functionality by just playing it with a standard controller form. And even that move isn't make or break.
>>320450 Yeah, I couldn't figure out how to do it. I kind of think it's limited to motion controls. Unless the joycons detect when they're detached/in the grip assists and drop the hat spin because of that.
Kirara🎃
you can't spin attack like that i don't think im not sure
Also I guess Mario burns controller battery a bit more than some of the other games since my batteries didn't last as long as I thought they would. On the other hand I haven't charged them in a long-ass time so it's pretty much my fault.

The first season was spectacular. It's well written and calls back nostalgia to the 80s/early90s in a way that doesn't cheapen the feel of the series but accentuates the emotional connect to it. A really good piece of work.

>>320685 No clue; haven't seen it yet. I was planning on taking over the living room couch this weekend and marathoning it in one go.
I don't know if I want to explain but I was running around a construction site
Anno
Oh that's exciting. I climbed up a, some kind of small-rise building once. Or more so, broke into a construction site and climbed the stairs inside the building. Though once we got like ten or twelve floors up the works, you got out into open air. They had the crane for building the place still up and we clambered over building supplies and went up the crane ladder. At the top of the crane you were probably a good twenty-odd storeys above ground. The wind and air up there was something else. 'Course a few days later I realized I banged my knee somewhere along the way and for the next few months I couldn't really swing the joint without generating pain. Would still do it all over again though. Was a lot of fun.
Though I can't really complain about adult life. I got to spend two weeks with some close friends in Japan last winter. I wouldn't have had the finances or autonomy as a kid to do anything like that. Travelling has sort of become something I really enjoy, at least when I can afford to.
Kurisu
I think I might have hated travelling because I was with my family going places alone is really nice
I haven't had the chance to travel all that much I suppose the time will come eventually
Anno
Well it's not the sort of thing for everyone. There's a lot of stress involved with travelling, and not everyone's got the disposition to tolerate airports and airplanes. And some people just get homesick at the drop of a hat. But if life dealt me some strange hand of cards where I had to and was able to travel the world regularly, I could be happy I think.

I'm always impressed by the people that go above and beyond for cosplay. Like I always return back to the memory I have of a con here where I saw a Kamina of Gurren Lagann cosplay and the guy was like, fucking RIPPED. Perfectly toned muscles for the role. It was amazing.
>>320913 The only cosplayers I have talked to said they just loved the character, but I'm sure they also did some research to find out what would be a good fit for their body type.

Then there was day two of Comiket when I was there last winter, where I was walking in to Big Sight, and you know what crossed directly in front of me? Some guy cosplaying Kars who again, was perfectly muscled and toned (impressive for a Japanese guy). It was that Pillar Men outfit of his too, the one where he's pretty much naked aside from some jewelery and a loincloth too. And this was winter, which while mild in Japan, is still pretty cool. It's an idolation of authority itself, a belief that democracy and freedom are only tools to an end: the propagation of 'the people' as some sort of entity of culture and history rather than flesh and blood It doesn't give a shit about economics, it's barely even politics
>>321017 I mean if you MAKE THEM COMMUNIST, like fully, that's not really even imperialism in any recognizable or meaningful sense What, you're gonna rob them of their oppressors like some ghoul? How awful

Apparently it's the natural way to say it in the north-eastern States. And even if you look at the feminine equivalent to it, Maria, there's a lot of variation on how to pronounce that one too.

Again, people don't seem to fuss much about the multitudes of ways to pronounce "Maria" despite the only difference between the two names is a single vowel.
I'm not really sure what imperialism is at this point, being honest I thought it was like, encroaching on a group of people's life by force, instating your own dudes and then sucking them dry of resources, in broad strokes If you remove everything after the 'force' there, it seems like just expansionism to me
>>321065 i think imperialism is encroaching on the autonomy of others i think the definitions for imperialism differ by ideology though

When it was "I can change", being "a million different people" makes it sound like there's hope for shifting out of the day to day. Being able to try new things and maybe something will work. "I can't change" makes being "a million different people" a kind of necessity. He has to change and continue to adapt to the terrible circumstances that the "mold" puts him in. He's not different people because he wants to be. That's just what life does to him.
If anything, it was the most teenager song ever, when it was "I can change."

This is the Introduction, the Foreword, to Koi Hates Words Vol I. Learning Bittersweet Symphony is different. >>321266 That's what makes the song worse now. You can't shift into a place where you can relax. Survival is nice but it's also pretty empty. That's why it's bittersweet.
Kirara🎃
Changing yourself won't fix that triviality. It's built into his world.
Well, yeah, it was teen angsty. Especially when it came out. Pop music also tends to gravitate towards that demographic. But the song is 20 years old now. And I feel like the "change" from 'can' to 'can't' is almost akin to watching it grow old and... well, bitter

>>321279 What do you think makes some booty shaking more appropriate than others?
>>321280 The degree of vulgarity. There's a big difference between a little shake shake and putting everything on display. I would think that this is a concept that you would understand easily, being an idol.
>>321281 >>321282 I think it's a bit much to say that that's the whole reason that life is bittersweet, though. Economic anxiety implies some greater degree of economic uncertainty, the song is just pointing out that that's how it is.
>>321283 Having to be a million people from one day to the next and live at the mercy of the mold that changes you as your pockets remain light is quite a lot of uncertainty. One doesn't need a vast understanding of economic principles to feel the weight of it. There would be no point in pointing it out if it didn't have meaning.

My interpretation of the song is that the singer is a person that's able to navigate everything except for himself. Himself is the only thing he can't control.
>>321286 >live at the mercy of the mold that changes you i don't think his mold is changing part of the point of the song is that his mold won't change
>>321293 I'm not denying his experience. I'm just saying it's an incomplete experience and I know better than him. The need to please people and change molds to fit expectations is something people usually experience growing up and eventually get over. It's called learning to be yourself.
The fact that teenagers experiment with different personalities and molds is a well documented fact.
>>321295 It's something that people have to do to keep jobs. That the song is applicable to teenagers goes without saying. There's just a lot that continues to apply to adult life. People get older and get stuck in dead ends. That's why I feel that the real version sounds a lot more adult than the version that I initially thought to be true.
Because my entire life I thought the line "I can't change" actually said "I can change" and now that I know this my entire view of the song has edited.
I was so tired last night I fell asleep in my chair. I don't think I've ever done that bfore. I only slept in my chair like an hour though, I woke up after that and got in bed.
>>321355 Sleep catches up with you eventually. I've never fallen asleep in a chair like that before though. I think it's because flux is so effective now.
I lost a run yesterday because I went into it with a training team by accident and it had half of my team for the trail so it threw me out of whack. I hit surrender to just go to my second team but then I hit surrender again my accident and approved it without thinking.
