>I don’t want the game to have something to say, because I don’t see myself delivering a message to people. But I’m definitely interested in asking questions to the player. Questions that are meaningful We have given questions so much value that we have forgotten how important the answers are.
Anno
>>297722 Mine tries to do that for me but I slap its shit whenever that happens. Like fuck I'm going to start using emoji.
Yuu
>>297726 It's not about value, it's just thta people are lazy and answering questions is hard.
Kirara
>>297730 haha shoganai im too fast so sometimes it gets me
Koi-
>>297731 It's not laziness at all. It's integrity. There is no backbone needed if you "have no message to give". You won't have to stand up to any of the values that your work presents. Calling it laziness doesn't really work because they've already done a LOT of work in adding the symbolism to -- ah, I just remembered that I have provided no context. But no, it's really not laziness. People just want space to deflect criticism.
Anno
I don't think there's anything inherently wrong in asking questions without providing the "correct" answer. Answers, beyond academia, are generally for the answerer to conclude on, not the questioner. Hell even within academia, answers are not always for the questioner to conclude on.
Koi-
>>297738 It's not so much about having the "right" or "wrong" answer but rather not having an answer for yourself at all. "It's just a question" "Questioning" has become a virtue but it stops there. People have learned to question but not provide an answer, even when the ability to arrive at one or assert one is in their hands. It is a responsibility that they abdicate, or perhaps don't see as a responsibility at all. Answering isn't a virtue, just questioning.
And so you get things like >We live in a world that’s full of hopes as well as fears. Fears about the present and also the future. Where are we going? What’s going to happen? I just want to ask these questions and see how people react. when asked about creating things like Detroit: Become Human, which is that game about Androids learning emotions, becoming sentient, and starting an uprising against their slavery. There's no burden on the person who asks the question. They're just out to get a rise from the audience.
>>297752 Solution is simple bureaucracy so complicated by the time the machine rebel AI realises where they at we have billion years of technology to neutralise it
>>297752 See I don't believe there should be a burden on the person who asks the question to have an answer. I shouldn't have the answer when I ask my councillor what the solution to unsustainable rising housing costs are. And if there shouldn't be a burden like that on me to have that answer, there shouldn't be a burden on some guy with a liberal arts major or way too much weed to have an answer to a question he asks me through his game. And either way I don't have a burden to answer his question if I don't want to.
Yuu
>>297752 Yeah, that's why I called it lazy. The person who takes responsibility is the person who comes up with the answers.
Koi-
>>297765 I just feel like 'lazy' doesn't cut it as a description. It's lazy in a sense that they don't want to put forth the effort in defending their work in a certain way but it's not just laziness at work. Maybe in the barest of examples where you're literally asking a question with no sense of sensitivity or tact, there's laziness. But these kinds of works, especially when done to a level of quality are usually well vetted. They are "coherent". They might have BAD answers or answers that I don't like but I can understand the answer.
But to go out of the way to say "this has no meaning or message from me, the creator", is closer to spineless than laziness. You add all this symbolism and pull metaphors from real life and yet none of this means anything. There is no burden of thought on the creator, just the player.
>>297772 Fish took it at your last sleepover or something.
Yuu
Wow I wasn't aware that we'd had any of those!
Koi-
>>297764 There is no universal need for burdening those who have questions. That's not really what I'm saying here. If you want to ask your representative about things in your community and what solutions they have, go ahead. Even if you're just curious. My criticism is more on the tendency of people who make creative works on sensitive subjects to "step away" from the responsibility of what the questions they're asking will bring to the table. you're playing with a fire that you don't understand how it burns

people who eat food from other cultures so basically white people

sk
Somehow mexican food is 7% only though What the hell
Yuu
>>297945 I don't know, but the phrase "ethnic explorer" sounds so funny that I laughed out loud.
>>297964 The place near my work has a very good broccoli dish. You get to pick your meat and I pick beef. You get rice too. I got it with a moderate spice level.

Yuu
>>297966 They probably do but I'm not a big tea drinker. I just had water.
Anno
I really like making green Thai chicken curry. Though making it is probably a bit of an exaggeration; I just use a pre-made jar of curry sauce. But I cook up all the other parts. It's a really tasty meal to have with rice and/or a side of naan.
moon
>>297970 well if you happen to see it while your eyes are gazing the menu, you should consider it! even if you dont try it at least considering it is swell >>297971 hm i don't think ive ever had green curry with bird, it's usually done with fish how was it? i'm really partial to the yellow curry for bird, especially duck
Anno
It's a mild curry, but it soaks really nicely into the chicken. So you get these bits of chicken that you can chew in your mouth and get a burst of curry flavour as you chew. I'll make it with some bell peppers and bok choy and it becomes a pretty well-rounded meal.
>>297975 Yeah, a few chicken breasts chopped up into nice, fork-sized pieces.
As a rule of thumb I'm personally not really huge on chicken dark meat. I get that its tasty, but the texture of it in my mouth is difficult for me to enjoy. And texture can really ruin a dish for me.
moon
do you use white meat for that? white meat is good soaking meat
moon
>>297974 i love peppercorns in my curry with bell peppers
Anno
We don't keep whole peppercorns about the house, but I'll try and keep that in mind.
moon
i'm not sure it'd work or not in green curry thai curries are pretty intense i was never allowed to touch them or even look at them being cooked they've always been delicious though
Anno
I don't really have much experience with them. This curry is pretty much hte only one I've tried. Lately I've even taken to experimenting around with adding a bit of extra spice to the wok as its stewing. Though I'm pretty much sticking just to adding more of spices the jar lists as ingredients at the moment.

sorry, i just get a little excited when it comes to food i'll simmer down

I went by a Panera and saw a semi truck being unloaded like 30 minutes ago. It made me think of bang
Maria
Only Bang has the brains to rule Lylat
Anno
Oh right Bang I know you're probably biased on this but what's your verdict on the quality of Panera coffee. I pass by one whenever I'm going to class in the evenings and I'm regularly tempted to go in for a pastry but because autism I feel weird just getting a pastry and no drink.
bangu
It's pretty whatever I mean I like it better than any other fast food place (including starbucks) but I always opt for espresso drinks over regular coffee anyways In terms of espresso our specialty drinks are pretty meh for the price
moon
st louis bread co is probs better but it's good
FormerRei@mobile
>>298023 St Louis bread compaby is Panera. *company

McDonald's Canada actually has really good coffee. A few years back Tim Hortons' main shareholder forced them to drop their previous, really high-quality coffee bean provider for a cheaper alternative, and McDonald's snatched them right up. I've been getting drinks from them whenever I'm in need of a hot drink on the go. But it's weird for me to walk into a Panera carrying a coffee from somewhere else and get a pastry there.
i'm thinking that i'll end up getting it on PC because of other friends I want to play it with too and because the PVP will probably be way better on PC
banguYuu
yeah, I'll be waiting for the PC version.

I've got a feeling so sleepy.

Maria
>>298142 yeah i doubt thehomeless have much practice they probably do suck at videogames but you can just play mariokart because whoever wins that is basically a diceroll now
and they'll do it for free you could pay a homeless person to be your own personal butler
Anno
I don't like mario kart.
Maria
I like mariokart but you know what i like better fzero
Anno
I have never played fzero. I liked Wipeout, though. >>298143 if I pay a homeless person to be a butler, is he really homeless anymore?
Maria
what games do you like then I haven't played wipeout but it looks fun but f-zero X is amazing and it's all because of the boost because you can boost and when you boost it decreases your cars health so you can go SUPER FAST except if you touch anything you're FUCKED and you can bump dumbasses off the road
>>298146 they're no longer a neet but they're still homeless unless you let them sleep on the couch or something
>>298148 yeah star wars racer was great I love that game you could go fast
I don't like sports games either what's your favourite rpg mine's smt because I'm a heretic
Anno
Wipeout is kind of like Star Wars Racer, which is also rad. >>298147 I like action games, platforming games, and role playing games. Shooting games and strategy games are alright. I'm not generally a fan of racing, rhythm, puzzle, or sports games.
Anno
>>298147 my favorite RPG is hard to think about. I guess my favorite indie RPG is LISA. My favorite AAA RPG is probably FFX. The Witcher 2 is really close, that's a good runner up. My favorite hipster RPG is Vagrant Story.
Maria
>>298149 >FFX I liked when Auron showed up in Kingdom Hearts he was cool in that game. Vagrant Story is a really cool looking game. It's like the devs took a ps2 game and cut and squeezed it into a ps1.
Anno
My favorite freeware RPGs are Space Funeral and Middens. They aren't as much RPGs as they are experiences though. OFF is really great too. Heros Realm is an amazing amount of fun RPG for the low price of fucking nothing. I think my first completed playthrough was like 70 hours or some shit.
Anno
>>298150 Auron was a baller in FFX as well I used him the whole game because he looked like a badass. His armor breaking abilities were very strong, too.
The graphics in vagrant story are really good for the hardware, I think it's mainly because the environments are relatively simple. Most of the processing power is directed towards the characters.
Maria
>>298152 yeah Aurons design is cool He only has one arm available but it's cool because he only needs the one arm.
I bet Vagrants Story looks amazing emulated with the AA turned up max and stuff. PS1 had a lot of really good looking rpgs.
Anno
>>298153 Auron's arm is fine, he just puts it in his haori when he's outside of combat because he wants to pretend to be a samurai. The game does look good on an emulator, but I played it on my PSP. The PSP is a pretty handy system. I haven't touched mine in a long time, though.
Maria
>>298154 yeah it's been a while since I played Kh2 but I vaguely rmember that was a plot point. Like he pulls out his arm and it turns out it worked all along. I want to get a VIta and hack it just for use as an emulation machine. I don't really care about many of its games but I bet it could emulate 5th gen fairly well. I have a phone that could do it but it has no buttons.
PSP was a cool system I liked Disiddia
Anno
the best part about auron is that he carries a jar of rum with him everywhere he goes
Anno
>>298155 of course you liked disiddia it was like one of the three games the PSP had i liked monster hunter and patapon as well
Maria
I liked Monster Hunter but I played that on the 3DS and the Wii U. They call it Monster Hunter 3U because only me and 2 other people bought it and a Wii U.
I liked that one Macross game on PSP that was pretty tight. Triangle Battle.
>>298159 Yeah playing on a gamepad with two analogue sticks is so much comfier. The touch screen Dpad is slidy and the nub on the New 3DS is really stiff feeling.
Dual sticks is absolutely better thank god we don't have to deal with that anymore.
Anno
i'm one of those people dude the controls on 3DS are ass the touch screen helps a bit though THE CLAW on PSP or dual sticks is way better
Anno
the New 3DS with the little analog clit isn't that bad though it can pivot the camera left and right accurately enough shame about the sensitivity of up and down but at least it half works.
Maria
It's not bad but it isn't as comfortable as a analog stick
>>298162 It's like a 50/50 flip Because no one is gonna buy it on an xbone
Anno
I'm excited for monster hunter world, but I just know all of my internet friends are going to buy it on different systems and I'm going to spend like $150.
Anno
>>298161 Yeah but I had to buy Dark Souls 2 and 3 so many times Dark Souls 2 I bought like four times
Maria
Wow I didn't even buy Dark Souls 2 one time Thanks for reminding me to buy bloodbourne
Anno
if you haven't played bloodborne you aren't allowed to talk to me. goodbye.
Maria
Alright goodbye I'll be back in a few months maybe

here are dsm criteria for the personality disorder what the psychs are saying is that you have some of these traits but not the personality disorder
sk
Seems like a kinda meaningless thing to tell me Like "Yeah you don't seem to like being close to people" Gee thanks I could have told you that when I walked in the door
Kirara
Yeah, it's a little weird to tell someone that, unless they were giving the results of the MMPI or something.
sk
She was telling me just the results of our appoitnments in general, since we decided to conclude it, me having been... uh, relatively stable now, at least in terms of these huge dips into depression Told me she wasn't gonna put down a diagnosis or nothin' And the real result was gonna be jotting down "had a depressive episode" or something I was kinda wanting to leave cause I was getting uncomfortable talking to her after an hour, so I wasn't paying very close attention
