The Hiintcabiit closes its eyes, "They will do. Tie them upon my horns."

Thomas waits in anticipation

I approach its head, slowly.
Reaching the horns, I take each feather and tie them with care to the horns.

It smiles slyly. Its eyes dart to VV and Thomas. It appears to be waiting.

Singing Bear looks like he may cry.

"Oh, it wasn't enough for my servant to do it? I suppose that is fine."
VV takes a feather and carefully ties it on.

Its eyes dart to Thomas.

"Oh, my sincerest apologies."
Thomas quickly moves over and does the same.

It raises its head high into the air.
It looks satisfied.

"Why do you not kill them?!" screams Singing Bear.
It does not reply, however. Singing Bear turns to the team with fire in his eyes.
He raises his hand towwards

VV and a bolt of lightning flies towards her.

Thomas is // takes notice and tries to shove the admittedly rock solid body that is currently VV.

Thomas successfully pushes VV out of the way of the lightning which convientiently doesn't seem to be attracted to her metal armor. Both of them avoid getting hit.
SB's hand appears to be covered in burns after that attack. He looks extremely angry.

VV points incredulously at SB from the ground. "Isn't he being rather disrespectful right now?"

"When you think about it, lightning is like a chain of tinier explosions. I kinda wish I could do that."

Thomas gives a sort of acknowledging shrug towards Hiintcabiit after their comment in the situation.

The Hiintcabiit smiles slyly once again, "Not to me."

"Is violence something you tolerate in your presence?" I ask the Hiintcabiit.

"So long as it is not against me, child."

I crack my neck and draw the revolver from my bag. "Fine then," I say, and fire a shot at Singing Bear's leg.

Thomas eyes his current explosion stash.

The shot flies towards the Hiintcabiit but luckily misses.

Thomas' nervousness stat increases.

Singing Bear is chanting something in Arapaho.

Grimacing, I steady my hand and take a second shot at the same target.

The shot hits him but fails to fully penetrate his leg. Despite that, his clothing is torn and he bleeds a little.

VV looks around the area for some kind of cover.

There is not a lot of cover aside from the giant snake.
The cover that was previously available disappeared when the giant snake was summoned.

VV shrugs and shoots at SB.

SB swings his arm outward, sending the poorly fired shot back at VV.

But SB, too, fails to aim and it flies into the ground.

I adjust my aim towards his other leg and fire off another round.

SB looks at the guns curiously.

Thomas throws a vial of smokey gray liquid towards singing bear!

Smoke fills the air. SB coughs loudly.

VV takes a moment to pull her armor off since it's not doing her any favors.

And having tugged her armor off, VV charges into the smoke with her axe!

I circle the cloud of smoke, waiting for the first sign of Singing Bear to show.

Though VV cannot see through the smoke, her wild swinging connects with SB. He lets out a groan and quickly begins to retreat.

Unbeknownst to the team, however, he remained uninjured by the attack. His shield was only broken, leaving him vulnerable for the future.

Stowing the revolver, I relax a little.

Squinting my eyes, I focus in particular, trying to pick Singing Bear out of the smoke.

Felicity catches sight of SB as he retreats from the smoke, heading towards the Hiintcabiit.

"He's off over here!" I call out to the others, taking the revolver and aiming at Singing Bear's back.

VV dashes out of the smoke and takes another swing at Singing Bear!

The axe slices into his back as VV swings it. He falls to the ground, screaming. "I can't feel my legs. Oh what did you do to my legs?!"
He tries to crawl along the ground using his arms.

"Wow, Id almost feel bad for him if not for the lightning thing."

VV doesn't feel bad for him, and swings the axe at his head.

He flips over and grabs the axe with a malicious smile on his face. "Got you now!"
He raises his hand to fire another bolt of lightning at VV.

A bolt of lightning explodes from SB's hand and strikes VV, dealing 5 damage and stunning her.

Taking off at full sprint, I dash towards them.

"Hey you sparky son of a bitch!" I shout as I swing my leg in a kick towards his head.

As he attempts to get up, Felicity's foot slams squarely into his head and he drops.

Thimas, having observed the situation, rolls to see if the struggle is over for the time being

It looks pretty safe at a glance.

Kneeling next to Miss Vane, I slap her cheeks gently a few times, trying to bring her out of the shock.

"Being shot with lightning hurts terribly! What were the two of you doing while he was shooting me!"
VV looks at Felicity: "Although I must give you credit for coming to my rescue eventually."

"Shooting back! Or trying." I give the revolver a frustrated shake. "Blasted thing isn't hitting anything lately."

"You'd prefer I not blow you up, right vv?"

VV turns to him and scowls.
"Just because something it out of your comfort zone does not mean you should do nothing. I have not thought about hitting anyone with an axe until very recently, but when someone is shooting lightning out of his hands at you is a time to do something!"

The Hiintcabiit watches carefully.

"Well what do we do with him now?" I nudge Singing Bear with my boot.

VV picks up her axe.
"We should probably finish him off. He's quite dangerous."

"I guess it's just a dream, isn't it. Though that probably means we won't be quite rid of him yet, in the long run."
I take several steps back and nod.

"Oh right, we were punching this fellow for the Chicago man right? His idea?" Thomas scratches his head.

"He wanted us to find out the creator of this city after it rose suddenly from nothing. Didn't say anything about killing them, but I don't want to be stuck here with this man chasing after us, mad for vengeance." I scratch my ear. "Not that I don't really want to be stuck here much longer to begin with."

VV muses.
"There isn't really a way to properly detain him, is there?"

"Not that I know of. We don't know how much longer he'll be out of it and I don't really want him to come to while we're carting him off to Chicagoan."

It begins to rain a little.

VV looks inspired. "Oh, I know! He can't shoot lightning if he has no arms!"

VV takes her axe and very carefully lops off his arms. She's kind of something close to being a doctor so it's probably fine.

As his first arm is lopped off, the trail of blood between his severed arm and his body appears to become a jelly-like substance which retracts, re-attaching his arm. His body begins to dissolve into the rain.

VV goes ahead and abandons all pretense and brings the axe down on his head!

The axe enters his head but becomes stuck in his jelly-like blood. It is difficult to pull the axe out.

A an /// an arm comprised of the jelly-like substance worms its way out of the gaping hole in SB's skull and attempts to grab the axe away from VV.

"Perhaps a bomb would be useful over here..."

Thomas rips the pin out with his teeth and chucks his grenade!

"Oh no"

VV lets the axe go and tries to retreat to a safe distance.

I scatter too, as the grenade leaves Thomas' hands.

The explosion goes off as planned, blowing SB to smithereens.

the smoke clears from the explosion, revealing a bloody, beaten, and crying SB
He is on his knees. "Please don't kill me!"

"You've been trying to kill us since we encountered you! First you set a giant water serpent on us, then you threw lightning at us." I gesture at Miss Vane. "You even injured one of us! What reason do we have to spare you?"

Thomas looks over at Hiintcabiit to see how theyre looking in this situation, probably expecting a relatively emotionless observing stare

VV recovers her axe for the second time.
"I think this is where you should find a way to justify your continued existence rather hastily..."

Realizing her axe is missing, she threatens him with her gun instead.

SB says nothing. He cowers, staring at the ground.
Even without sensing danger, you can tell that he does not have it in him to continue fighting.

"The axe exploded so I don't suppose we can chop his appendages off anymore. Let's just take him back."

"You still have that rope, Thomas?"

Thomas tightens the rope in a show of "yes i have the rope".

"Tie him up. Miss Vane, do you want a moment to look at your wounds?"
