"Should we double back to look into the courthouse behind us, or take the advice of Shifty and head to the park to see if we can find the person who dreamed up this whole mess?"

"Heading to the park might get us out of here more quickly."

Thomas is shivering.

"Why are you shivering? I'm sure that we can find a shop named COATS."

"Thanks but I think it's an internal thing."

"Do you need to use the restroom in that case? We can probably find a shop that accommodates your needs.

"D-does holding it in make you c-colder?"

"Some hot coffee then?"

Thomas flushes momentarily but then returns to normal. "I think I'll be okay."

Thomas lightly slaps his face with both hands and does a quick hop to energize himself.

"Then let's go visit this creator in the park. I'm rather tired of all this mystique."

Thomas spins in place and then follows boss to the park

As the team grows nearer to the park, the density of snakepeople grows from virtually none to so high that they block the way forward. They are all clamoring about how excited they are to see the show today.

"Are you sure this is a good idea? It will be difficult if they all get angry."

"I got kabooms but they're kind of dangerous in close proximity to ourselves."

Thomas begins pondering the idea of microscopic remote explosives that he could place into the public punch bowl at this particular public gathering.

Thomas, being a thoughtful yet forgetful person, then wonders if he happened to think of this before and prepare such a devious but beautiful thing.
Thomas then realized the impossibility of such a thing with modern technology and become very sullen.

You can see a statue in the distance, towering over the crowds. It looks like it is in the middle of the park, but you've yet to reach the park.

I skirt the edges of the crowd, looking for a way closer that doesn't involve touching any of the snake people.

"I wonder what it could be causing such a fuss."

It looks like you can push through the crowd without angering the snake people.

"If that statue's of that creator fellow, then it may explain why everyone he's all serpentine."
Thomas says quietly.

"Someone who's crazy enough to make an entire city's worth of snake people. Lovely."
Tentatively, I push through the crowd to get closer to the park's cetnre.

As the team grows closer, they find a open area leading into the park. The entrance has a barrier and a man in a suit. He looks like a guard.
Behind the barrier, a throne can be seen.

"It seems somewhat like an amusement park."

I walk up to the guard making a point to look around him at what lies behind the partition.
"Heya chief," I say to him. "When does the gate open?"

"Oh that sounds like a fun time, an amusement park. We should go to one of those."

Thomas has the urge to sense danger.

He looks at you, fidgeting a little, secretly excited to have been called chief.
"It does not open, friend! The creator'll be in that throne for us to all enjoy soon enough."

Thomas looks at the throne to try and make out details.

"Soon, huh? So what, kick back and get comfortable for a few minutes? Can't keep a show behind curtains for too long."

It looks like it is constructed of animal bones and furs.

Thomas makes a mildly perplexed expression and also finds the throne to be outside his realm of taste.

"When do you expect the creator to be here?"

"Big chief said soon, so I'd imagine... soon."

Clouds suddenly gather and it begins to rain heavily.
"Right now," he says.
Lightning flashes, blinding everyone for but a second yet when their sight returns, a man sits on the throne.
His face is painted and his skin is reddish. A small, white snake is wrapped around his right arm.

"Well I guess that's what Chicagoan wanted then. I figured the person he wanted us to find would be more concealed."

The throne floats high into the air so that everyone surrounding the park can see him clearly.

Thomas begins doing pseudo-physics in his mind to calculate the liklihood of chucking his pineapple up there.

I watch in anticipation for what comes next.

Water from the rain forms puddles.

I slink closer to the guardsman.
"Hey chief, we're, uh, from outta town. This creator got a name in particular?"

Thomas gets slightly uncomfortable in anticipation of horrible things

Before the guard can speak, a puddle splashes behind the team. It seems the creator has landed there, having jumped down from his chair.
"Singing Bear. And who are you whites, in this sacred place?"

Thomas pulls out a piece of paper in spite of the rain and scribbles on it, holding it up afterwards.

It was 9.5/10

says,

VV curtseys.
"I must say that I'm not quite sure why we are here, myself. You seem to be quite a fan of snakes."

"Yeah, we were put here somewhat unknowingly, and have been trying to figure a safe way back, uh, home."

"The safest way out of here would be to die," he says with a smile.

"That wouldn't happen to involve us dying in turn when we're back home, would it?"

The snake writhes on his arm.

Thomas is going to sense danger again.

this guy is dangerous

Thomas isn't surprised.

"This is but a dream world. You would be alive when you wake."

Felicity gets a guy feeling that something isn't right. This guy isn't quite trustworthy.

"Well even so I can't say I'm gonna entertain the notion of dying if I can help it. Is there a manageable way to get out of here that doesn't involve death?

He shrugs. "The only way out is to wake up."

The snakepeople which were surrounding the park have begun to slowly melt in the rain.

"That looks unpleasant. I take it you'llb e making more of those?"

"If I must."

"Experimenting?"

He raises his arms into the air, "Does the name Hiintcabiit mean anything to you?"

"I'm afraid not, but you probably expected that answer."

"Well, it's just, I look at you being a creator-y type right now and my white-scientist mind immediately ponders the possibilities and scientific research that could be done with this dreamworld."
Thomas looks around.
"You could test all sorts of theories and idealogies in the blink of an eye, create entire peoples to watch them make peace or war, possibly even solve the crises of our times, or at least gain further understandi-".

Thomas pouts, realizing that trying to connect is a lost cause.

"I'm reasonably certain that he's merely a dangerous person."

"The englishwoman is correct," he shouts.
"I'm very dangerous, and I'm going to show all of you whites how dangerous I am."

"Will we need to step back for this?"

VV takes this opportunity to load the AMMUNITION into her GUN.

"The Hiintcabiit is what you might call a water monster. It destroys those that do not show it proper respect! And since you whites don't know the first thing about respect, it'll destroy you once I bring it about!"

The snakepeople have all dissolved completely by now and their juices have merged with the puddles.

"You mean like Nessie?" Thomas observes the puddles.

"Don't compare it to your filthy legends."
The puddles ripple.

"Would Hiintcabiit be less of a legend were we not in this dream world?"
Thomas pauses.
"Oh dear... that's where your creator-y powers are coming from isn't it?"

He shakes his head without a word.
The water ripples harder. The puddles are splashing a little.

"I would say that we are being reasonably respectful. I haven't shot you yet, after all!"

"That is not what it means to show respect!
"

"I think you'll find that the English are a very respectful people. I respect all of the various peoples around the world. If anything, you're the one being disrespectful. You told us to die within minutes of meeting us!"

"I need not respect the cancer of the whites!"

"So we're supposed to respect you and get none in return?"

I give Thomas a withering look.
"You're a scientist you knobhead. Since when do you just believe in water gods because someone tells you they exist?"

"Guys he might want us to respect his big water god"

The water ceases its rippling. After a moment, a massive, white snake with two red horns above its eyes erupts a puddle.
Its eyes are like voids. It looks to be at least five feet //// fifty feet thick and upright, it may be many stories high.

This man is threatening us with a giant water god" Thomas says forgetting his initial quotation.

Thomas points at Hiintcabiit. "This is why I just believe in water gods because someone told me they exist."
"Sometimes as a scientist you just have to re-evaluate your views on things."

Thomas turns to Sea Biscuit // Singing Bear nervously. "I don't suppose you'd be willing to give me the details on Hiintcabiit instead of murdering us to death?"

"You are a scientist! Why don't you do some observation from inside its stomach?"

"I'm sure we will be fine. I feel that I have an appropriate amount of respect for this creature."

"And either way, with all the volatile things that Thomas is carrying, the giant snake eating him might end pretty poorly for it."

It sways its head back and forth, watching the group, seemingly waiting for them to do something.

Thomas is dismayed that Felicity has unveiled his backup plan.

I lean in towards Miss Vane and Thomas. "Any idea on what sort of proper respect you show towards giant snakes? Either of you study Herpetology?"

"Well, I imagine that not shooting it or throwing bombs at it is a good start. Usually an offering is customary in these situations, one would think."

"I was going to prostrate myself if you hadn't talked ot me just now, Boss."

"An offering? What do we have that a giant snake could possibly want?" I motion towards Thomas. "Prostrating might be a place to start. Just don't do anything stupid...too stupid."

The snake slowly lowers its head to the ground. It watches the team.

Thomas prostrates himself towards the snek

"Are you sure you want to do that? You may be mistaken as an offering."

"I'll let him know if this big guy is looking hungry."

It watches Thomas.

Thomas looks up slightly from the puddle. "Thank you boss, but calling him big guy might be disrespectful?" Thomas blurbles from the puddle.

Singing Bear watches, unamused.

"I don't particularly think that is the right approach. Many cultures value strength over weakness, you know. I don't have much to offer, so let's try this."
VV walks over and a safe distance from the snake, places her tommy gun on the ground.

Its tongue flicks across the gun. It does not seem interested in it.

"Kill them!" shouts Singing Bear,
It does not appear to be listening.

VV picks up the tommy gun and places her axe in the spot instead.

Thomas blurbles again from the puddle. "Do we have an instrument we might hope to entertain Hintcabiit with?"

It does not look interested in the axe. It's starting to look angry. Or as angry as a snake can look.

"He does not seem interested in weapons. What other items might we have that are relevant to it? Do I remember one or both of you recovering artifacts while we were here?"

Thomas rises slightly from the puddle. "The boo-?" Thomas tries to get out before his boss takes over

"Magnificent creature," I call out to it. "Would you speak the language we speak, or do we have no manner in which to communicate with you?"

"I speak your language, child," it replies.

"Excellent, that's quite excellent. We would like to know what service or token we could provide unto you."

"Bring to me feathers and tie them upon my horns , child."
Singing Bear looks extremely upset.

Thomas rises from the puddle and just sort of tries dusting himself off.

"Certainly! We will make with haste to find some."

I turn back to the others. "Okay, feathers. Have we seen any feathers here?

Thomas rolls preparedness.

Thomas pulls out some feathers from his bag

The snake watches carefully.

Thomas offers the feathers to Felicity.

"Would these feathers suffice for you?" I show the feathers out in front of me.
