Last time:

The gang entered the museum and found murals depicting the creation of the town. They also found a large ball which rolled down the hallway at them which they could not get around by lying on the floor in the corners of the hallway. Felicity stopped the ball somehow and it was discovered to be a seed.

Thomas stares blankly at the seed.

"I don't suppose we could water it and make it sprout."

"I don't know if we have that much water, boss."

"We could just try to crawl around it."

Looking at it closely, there does not appear to be enough room to crawl around it.

"Well boss, you did tell it to stop. Maybe you could tell it to go thattaway?"

Thomas points in the clear direction that is away from the wall that would result in death

"I -tried- asking it to move backwards a few minutes ago. It didn't budge then, I don't figure why it would budge now."
I put both hands on it, getting a feel for the texture of the seed.

Thomas recollects the moments of Felicity adorably praying for their impending doom-boulder to stop as though it were a distant memory and smiles nostalgically.

It has a very fibery texture to it - it definitely feels organic.

"Maybe it's some kind of melon. Does anyone have a knife?"

"I don't believe I was carrying one on me. Aren't you the one whose pulled all sorts of things out of thin air so far?"

"If we had something to light a fire with, we could just burn it."

Thomas pats the seed.
Thomas also pulls out a marker and marks a line on the seed, turns to VV, and gives a thumbs up.

VV stares blankly.

Thomas makes an axe-swinging motion towards the seed and then looks at VV expectantly.

"I'm not going to be doing anything like that. The only time I've used this is when my life has been in danger. You can try it, if you like."

"You're the only one with something that can hack through the seed though." I hold out my hand. "At least let us borrow your axe."

VV hands the axe to Felicity.

And takes a few steps back! Hacking through giant fruit is potentially very messy.

Thomas looks at Felicity.
"Ganbatte danchou!"

I hand over the Axe to Thomas. "Good luck."

And take a few steps back to join Victoria.

"Ah."
Thomas stands still momentarily, realizing that he must look very silly.

Thomas then prepares himself to take a swing at the seed.
With the universe not requiring any more pause, Thomas swings at the seed.

The axe strikes the seed which immediately cracks down the middle. The cracks subsequently branch out in other directions as if it were made of plaster and the seed crumbles to dust.
The ground shakes violently.

Thomas sweats profusely.

I prod the wall the stairs end at behind me.

The dust looks so fine that you could probably snort it without any additional grinding.

The ground continues to shake.

A small door, only big enough for possibly a hand to fit through, opens in the wall behind them.

I open the door and cautiously fit my arm into the portal.

It feels like feathers inside.

"Anything inside, boss?"

"Uh...short answer, yes."

I take what feels like a single feather between two fingers and pull very, very slightly on it.

You hear Chicago's voice. "Ouch, what the hell?"

"Hello? Chicagoan? Are you behind this wall?"

"Behind what wall? I'm in the cafe. Where are you?"

"Underground, sir. We visited the city museum. I don't suppose you can see my hand where you are, can you?"

"Uhh, no, I'm afraid not."

"Damn. I could have sworn I was pulling on a feather there a moment ago. Sir, I don't know if this tunnel we're in is very stable much longer. We may have to make a run for the surface momentarily."

The feeling of feathers is gone. Chicago doesn't reply.

I move my hand around in the cavity a little more.

You don't feel anything.

Pulling my hand back, I turn to the others.

"Want to stick the axe handle in?"

When Felicity pulls her hand out, she sees that the texture of skin, where it entered the hole, appears to have the same texture that the seed did.

"Oh gosh."

"Erm. I guess we could try it, but I don't know if that's the best idea anymore."

I flex my fingers and wrist , flicking the wrist around a bit.

The ground continues to shake.

"I suppose we should leave this place since it's starting to seem more and more dangerous!"

"Yeah, I don't really want to stay underground to see what happens next here. Enough has happened to me as it is."

I head back up the stairs, taking them two at a time.

"I hope demolishing the seed doesn't lead to any repercussions in the future."

Thomas heads up the stairs as well

The team leaves the bunker and the shaking ground behind them.
Upon exiting the bunker, they are greated with an unfamiliar scene!
It seems that they have exited into the shopping district. A nearby map confirms that the Museum is, in fact, located in the shopping distract despite the fact that it clearly wasn't prior to now.
Nothing else on the map seems to have moved.

"Our friendly architect(s) must be doing some redecorating."

"We had to look around this place eventually, I suppose. We'll have to double back if we want to look at the courthouse though. But for now let's see what's in store here."

"I'd say looking at the wares could be fun but that'd probably involve interacting with snakefolk

"This is the sort of thing that's bound to happen when everyone is the architect."

I take a few steps into the street and give a look around the district.

The district looks rather generic. There are two lines of buildings separated by a street with two lanes going in opposite directions.
The buildings themselves are all generic business names: GUNS, BAKERY, BOOKS, etc.

"There are several promising looking stores here. We should see if the gun store also has ammunition!"

"If you pick up a dream gun in a dream world, does it stay with you when you wake up?
Probably not, huh."

I walk off towards the shop named GUNS.

"One way to find out."

The team arives at GUNS.
It's a rather boring looking brick building. There's a large sign above the door that says GUNS.
On the door is a written note - "We sell GUNS", it reads.
There is a window into the shop to the right of the door where a number of mannequins stand, holding various guns in different poses.

VV peers in the window to see if there is ammunition in the shop.

I try the handle to the door.

The handle turns.

VV has trouble seeing past the mannequins.

"Well, do we want to go in? There may be one of those snake-necked people inside.

"Oh man, snakepeople with guns. That's a scary thought."

I gently pull the door open and step inside.

There's a man standing at the counter with a wide grin.
"Howdy friend! Welcome to GUNS!"
He shouts the word "guns"
"Got a deer you need to hunt down? Got a family to protect? Got a white to rise up against? We can support all of your GUNS needs here at GUNS!"

VV holds up her tommy gun.
"Do you have ammunition for this?"

"We sell ammunition for GUNS!"
You notice that he hasn't blinked at all.

Thomas blinks at the man.

He does not seem to understand the concept of blinking.

"Okay, yes, I need some ammunition for my gun."

"Obtain GUN to get ammunition for GUN, VV."

"You only have gun, not GUN, clearly."

He holds out his hand.
"Lemme see your GUN, friend!"

VV hands him her tommy gun.

He does not seem dangerous right now but it feels like he could become dangerous.

He examines the gun.
"This isn't a real GUN, come on!"

"Oh, so you don't have any ammunition for it? That's a shame. May I have it back?"

He shakes his head.
"No, no, NO! That will not do!" He throws it onto the ground beside him and pulls out another tommy gun.
"This is a real GUN. And it's all yours, as thanks for being such a loyal customer!"

Thomas stops sweating after that clearly horrifying spook of an event.

"It's a nice gun, yes. Can you give me my old one so I can compare? You're a good gun salesman, after all, so you should let me compare!"
I'm going to spend a point of flattery here too.

He excitedly picks up your gun and hands it to you, grinning all the while.

VV looks at the GUN.

It looks like the safest gun you've ever seen.

"May I fire it?"

"Sure thing, friend!" He holds up a bullseye. "Take a shot!"

VV squeezes the trigger on the GUN.

It fires straight through the bullseye.
You can see the salesman's body through the holes in the bullseye.

VV looks puzzled.
"Was it safe for you to stand behind the bullseye like that? Guns are dangerous."

He lowers the bullseye and appears uninjured. "We've got all kinds of GUNS!" he says with a grin.

"Oh, I see. Thank you then."

"Anything for a a loyal customer!"

"Well it's good we got something here. I don't think I'm short enough for ammunition myself though."

"I got booms."

I turn around and leave the GUNS shop.

There seems to be a store for whatever you might need as you look around.

Squinting, I look around for a store named CLUES.

There is a store with a prominant sign which says CLUES.
Upon closer inspection, it appears to be a detective shop.

"Oh this is totally your kind of store huh boss?"

"I have a hunch it's going to be subverted in some way. But it might be worth it to look into at least briefly."

I head up to the door and step inside.

"Maybe they have a science or bomb-themed shop around here too. That'd be cool."

"I feel that this gun is somewhat suspect."

There is a man in a trenchcoat inside at the counter. His eyes shift from left to right.
"The name's Shifty. What're you lookin' for?:

"If I asked for anything that might help uncover someone who could create a city in a dream world, would you know anything to help point us in the right direction?

"My boss here //"

He narrows his yes.
also his eyes narrow
"You lookin' for the creator of this place?"

"That might be of some assistance in what we're looking for."

He smirks. "You must be a fan. Well, he's pretty great. If you go to the park today, you'll get a glimpse of him. Maybe you can even talk to him."

VV points to Felicity's hand. Do you have a clue as to what is happening with that?

"That don't look too good. You should see a doctor or something."

"Could you give me a reference for a good one, then? I'd love to get it looked at."

"We don't have any doctors around here but I bet the creator could give you a good idea about it."

"I'll make sure to ask about it if the chance arises then. Thank you for your time." I nod politely and make my way towards the exit.

Thomas begins peering around for a bomb/science-themed shop

There appears to be a shop called THE BOMB.

"Oh man I bet that place is the bomb!" Thomas picks up pace and happily makes his way over.

"Sounds like it was made for you."
I follow along behind.

"I don't understand the point of repeating the pun."

Thomas opens the door with gusto. "Excuse me, I'm a bit of an explosives fanatic, and I would like to see your nicest bombs please."

A man with half of his face covered in horrible burns smiles at you.
"What kind of bombs?:

"I'm thinking more of the danger danger type today, but if you have a more sneaky sneak-type one that you think is just the bees knees, I'd love to see one of those."

He looks at you blankly.
"What in the world is a sneaky bomb?"

"Well there's the kablow kaboom kablastoff type that makes a lot of havoc destruction mayhem and noise, but then there's the other kind of explosive like smoke or gas that just fwishes fwooshes and kasplashes and isn't just a beautiful godsent miracle of mass annihilation."

He looks terribly frightened.

Thomas is wiggling with excitement.
"Very well, we'll skip the sneaky sneak-type today and just shoot for the big bang attacks."

He points to a single mills bomb on the counter, looking terrified.
"Please take this and leave."

"You got it sir! Thank you for your assistance."
Thomas cradles it as one would a small kitten.
"Even the greatest of things can come in small packages."
Thomas heads out, waving to the clerk.

"Find anything good in there?"

Thomas holds up the (it's basically a grenade from a quick google?) mills bomb with pride.

I lean away slightly, almost imperceptibly. "I suppose that's good that you got something."

"I think I may have weirded out the clerk somehow? He didn't seem as enthused about explosives as I was, which is interesting considering that he's a peddler of such things."

"I could not imagine why."

Still, many shops remain! Whatever one might desire might be able to be found.

Thomas shivers a bit.

"I wonder if there is a place to buy armor, or maybe food? Would one even want to eat food from this place?"

There appears to be a shop called LUNCH, another called DINNER, and a third called BRUNCH.
Across the street from LUNCH is ARMOR.

"Let's go look in armor."

"I can only equip light armor due to my class settings."

There is a man at the counter of ARMOR. He looks fairly normal.

"Considering the literal nature of everything here I wouldn't be surprised if all they have is knight armor.

"Hello, do you have any lightweight armor here?"

"What do you mean when you say lightweight?"

"What about something that covers all important vital points of a person, is completely impenetrable by anything and does not dent or break shape, while remaining lightweight and easy to move in?"

He points to some armor on a mannequin.

"Yes, that will do. Do you have helmets to go along with it?"

"Afraid not."

"That'd probably fit under my labcoat?"

"Oh, I suppose that makes sense. Let's go find a place called HELMETS."

"Also got this one", he says, pointing to another suit of armor. "It's got a helmet."

"Oh, that one would probably work well on you, boss?"

I give the suit a look of considerable reprehension. "I think I'm fine, thank you."

VV steps outside and looks for the store named "HELMETS"

There is indeed a store that is called HELMETS.

VV walks into the store named HELMETS.

There's a man at the counter wearing a helmet. You can't see his face.

"I need a helmet. I don't particularly want a closed helm, though."

"would you prefer an open helmet?"

He points to a wall covered in leather bike helmets.

"Do you have anything more metal?"

He pulls out a bike helmet covered in spikes.

You notice he has a steel combat helmet on a mannequin.

VV points at the steel combat helmet. "I'll take that."

"Go ahead."

VV walks back out of the store with her helmet and armor on.
"Can anyone think of anything else that may be useful?"

What about a shop that sells clothes that render the wearer invisible.

(That should have quotations marks around it.)

There does not seem to be such a shop.

"I'd mention medical supplies but I think VV has us covered under most conditions."

"Would you even know a bandage from disinfectant to begin with?"

"I mean, yeah, bandages are the sticky things and disinfectnat is the liquidy thing."

"I can't think of anything else I need."

"I guess we've finished here then! Let's move on."

"Let's... run into not danger?"
