The fireworks are really going off now. Happy 150th, Canada.

i am standing outside with some neighbors now awkwardly they were talking about why the power went off someone said someone shot a firework at a light pole but idk if that'd even knock out power unless it was a big one
Anno
Assuming power lines are strung between light poles down there, a well-placed firework could probably do damage to a transformer and interfere with power distribution.
Maria
What if we used fireworks as projectile weapons?
Anno
They hurt a fair bit. There isn't much in the way of physical projectile in them, but the gunpowder is, y'know, ignited. That shit'll burn hot and painfully.
ive had one conversation with a neighbor prior to just now ive said hi to a neighbor a few times other than that

my neighbor invited me and my "wife" over for dinner and i tried to politely decline using the judaism card so they were like, well, just come hang out a little bit then! so i tried to explain that fish can't do that and i could tell that they didnt believe in social anxiety also its dark as fucking hell outside

I think it's more of an old fashioned thing people used to invite their neighbors over back when they didn't have a choice but to be friends with the people nearby

okay three pizzas you decide which one i eat
1. 12 inch with sweet corn sauce, house mozzarella, chorizo, pickled onion, cotija cheese, crema fresca, and lime wedge. 2. 12 inch with red sauce, provolone cheese, pepperoni, bacon, and banana peppers. 3. 12 inch with kale pesto sauce, provolone cheese, roasted chicken, roasted tomato, and red pepper.
It's kind of both, really. There's usually enough going on to keep you interested. And if you play it smart you can dodge crowds and only observe the absurd from a distance.
Kirara☆

When I was looking at getting a powerbar with more outlets on it a while back, Amazon had a sale on a UPS powerbar. It was a bit tempting but ultimately power doesn't go out here often enough for it to be a real nuisance.
>>183859 >>183859 You won't be able to get me unless you use the boulder dodging trick too. If it comes to that I'll be able to tell you how right I was.
>>183861 I can just prevent you from doing that so we both die together.
Anno
The practical world solution to all this anyway is to round the edges of the boulder tunnel so that there's no corners that people thing they can avoid the boulder in anyway. Any self-respecting villain that has a boulder tunnel would design it that way.
Who is going to walk into a hallway with weird rounded floors? It's obvious what's going on there.
The real way to prevent this is to put big spikes on the sides of the boulder.
>>183862 You'd rather kill us both than admit I'm right.
Anno
Sufficiently large spikes would hinder the boulder's ability to maim and kill, not help it. You'd really probably want small to medium-sized spikes, not large ones.
Also a rolling boulder would dull the points of spikes while it's at it anyway. If the boulder is rolling fast enough that would still probably hurt a fair bit but it's a bit detrimental to the purpose of having them in the first place.
>>183870 They don't need to touch the ground, they just need to effectively close up the wiggle room to hide. Because of the shape of the ball and the size of the spike, the area that you could normally hide in is effectively blocked!
>>183873 Do you think the power company would drag you to your mutual deaths to avoid admitting that its wrong?
Anno
That's not the intervals I'm talking about. There would be a period before -period after the spike on the ground lifts up before the spike on top rotates down towards it.
>>183878 You'd have to have a somewhat small tunnel ceiling for that to work. Even assuming the tunnel is two metres tall, that gives about one metre of length between spike impalement. I'm pretty sure I could collapse myself into a space that size if my life depended on it.
If we're talking about removing all certainty of dodging the boulder, the only really solution is to just take out the corners. You could even make the tunnel hexagonal or octagonal for style and it would still work.
>>183887 That's a good decision! You shouldn't kill people!
>>183886 It's not about making the trap 100% effective, just removing a glaring flaw. If you wanted a 100% effective trap you wouldn't use a boulder trap.
>>183893 Mine greatly increases the effectiveness of the traditional boulder trap quite a bit. No one is going to be able to deliberately dodge it unless they are some kind of spike autist. I also maintain the aesthetics of the trap.
If you're going to go and change the design of the hallway, you may as well just replace the boulder with a giant piston fit to the hallway.
>>183894 I don't think any amount of cuteness can excust killing me!
Anno
And mine would catch even the most autist-y of trapees. Besides, there's plenty of subtle ways to change the feel of a tunnel gradually, subtly. So that by the time they realize they're in a boulder tunnel trap, there's no corners to hide in. That sort of subtle sinister style has plenty of merit on its own.
>>183897 No because you said it would be the boulder killing me right after that.
>>183896 I think people would notice if the tunnel changed into a hexagon. The boulder trap isn't about 100% effectiveness. you can't ruin the aesthetics.
>>183898 The boulder would kill us because your plan wouldn't work.
Anno
>>183898 It would be easy to do it that way. Dingy lighting obscures so much. Unless people are expecting to see the tunnel turn into a cornerless creation, they wouldn't notice until it's too late.
bang eats pizza pizza makes bang tired it's only 1030

well it was a 12 inch pizza and i atelike 2 slices and then like 2 slices of the cheese bread so like half of a 12 inch pizza because the pizza and cheese bread were cut in 8ths and the cheese bread was the same size as the pizza uhhhh let me look up the calories real quick it's a local pizza place so i ate like 700 - 800 calories of pizza probably like 1000 because i had some apple juice but that puts me at like 2600 for the day so a little too much
>>183935 well i mean like a lot of places that don't have 24 hour stores in most places have like a single one in Las Vegas or New York Panera does not, and I don't think it would be logistically simple to run one so they probably never will
>>183944 I mean I'll try them but neither looks interesting. The fujoshit looks like the bad kind. i'm pretty picky about fujoshit.
It needs to be fun and the characters need to look good. I really liked Free. But these dime a dozen samurai shows with really generic edgy looking samurai where they all kinda fight but really are just gay for each other are boring. They pale in comparison to something like sengoku basara. Shows that don't deliberately set out to be fujo of that type are better, sengoku basara is a good example. Tiger and Bunny is another good one.

That's also why I got almost beat up yesterday This guy pulled me off the street and said.. Come watch. Beer 100 baht. No cover charge. So im like... Whatever. I'm not doing anything better. Even if it's not a good show there might be some novelty
And I'll tell you the difference The first show I went to was actually a proper show. Stage and lights and production value. People were there as a novelty kind of thing. There were even quite a few female tourists there who just wanted to see the show
This other place was totally different. As soon as the big steel windowless door locked behind me i knew i didn't want to be there. The place was filthy. My shoes audibly made squelching sounds as I stepped across the sticky floor. All the women were pretty badly overweight.
I took like 2 sips of beer, then im like, fuck it. I'm out of here And i stood up and threw down a 100 note and made to step out the door.
And then the bouncer grabbed my arm and pulled out a slip of paper that said Show -watching - 1000 baht. Drinks -300 baht
And I'm like.. The dude outside said there was No cover charge. And the bouncer is like.. He doesn't work here. You pay your bill. And he beckons over a couple other bouncers and they all stand around me in a circle.

So I put on my calmest, friendliest smile and said something like. 'can I speak to the boss please. There's a man outside telling lies and we should both go and stop him'.

I haven't been that worried about anything for a while though.
