helloooo welcome to the dark side

now if we could have some animated lil chibi anime avatars floatin around in the background for each poster that's active in the thread or that has the thread open and walk them around in the background like that lil minigame you made
gotta actually go and make a bot that is fun to talk to, not frustrating

i think there's high potential for interactive games based on liveposting threads too have slots per thread that a person can seat themselves to join the game and then some spectator seats maybe
i dunno maybe it's just my business brain working in overdrive but there's good ideas that could be fun and built more on the drive for parasocial interaction rather than the drive for money
imageboard culture is a unique thing and something i'll always cherish even though it's got unwanted side effects on the fringes

true true that's pretty true

a social arcade + livewatching + other undiscovered forms of interaction make any monetization just for avatar cosemetics so whales can support their local digital hangout
on-demand campaigns for a novel anime maiden tabletop we make with campaign rewards that could actually be tracked and used in future events stored character growth with LLMs now that would be totally doable and actually have realistic quality control if appropriate effort is put into stabilizing it and not making it cheesable/gimmicky
still have DMs but have their role be more steering rather than heavy prebuilding
i mean yea ive experimented with LLMs as a chat bot obviously but not very well but fundamentally an LLM doesn't really have much of a will of its own so a big challenge in making a bot that's interesting to interact with, is like
how do you make an emotional engine loop, and an inner world for the personality like a program that mixes things up and comes up with its own goals and has the will to really talk to people and model their minds for conversational purposes, and come up with novel/normal/fun things to say

well, two points first, that is something ive been thinking about since the botty stuff i was toying around with back in 2012-2014 and modeling linguistic entropy. i do think there are some meaningful ways to approach that two, im hinging more towards social interactions between actual peoples with any bot angle to be more environmental LLMs seem to work a lot better as an interactive environment rather than an actor entity within the environment
maybe im naive and holding on to the past but i want to revisit my youthful joys of a thriving social imageboard with game threads having slots to fill like an age of empires lobby on MSN gaming zone where people can come in to play a game that both tracks progress in some sort of internal economy system on the platform and serves for a standalone event that players would have fun participating in
people got a big kick out of /cards/ i remember a liveposting arcade that has structured system with lots of different games and a lobby system and an interactive background with a visual representation for each of the posters in the threads just sounds like a blast to me the kind of thing that you'd see someone randomly post a link to on forchann and people trickle in and be like OMG what is this wait is this live AHHH HOW DO I DELETE MY MESSAGE WTF oh god im so self conscious stop replying to me while im still typing!! i cant hear myself think wait WAIT is the background live how do you move GAEM IS STARTING WHAT HOW DO I PLAy

imagine going into a thread with 5 posters each controlling a synthesizer and playing notes live like on a little mixer where you queue up the next 8 beats, rather tgan it playing a sound iimmediately when they press a key due to latency
/play/ /watch/ /record/ /stonks/ /casino/ and /chill/ a dreamland for the socially inept weaboo crew record maybe should be called /dj/ or something
