Yooka-Laylee releases tomorrow at noon for me. I think I might stream it.
Anno
What are your expectations going in?
Anno
I expect to enjoy it a fair bit. There's a lot of nostalgia for the Banjo-Kazooie games in me that is going to undeniably skew my bias of it. Visually the game looks charming and colourful and I've always enjoyed collecting inane stuff in video games. Whenever I see people complaining about collectathon mechanics in modern games it's always been a little funny for me, since that mechanics has always been something I've enjoyed since Banjo-Kazooie.
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
Atleast there will be no characters voiced by NAZIES
Anno
I've also been looking over the reviews from gaming blogs and the such recently, and I generally appreciate what they compliment, and most of the things they complain enough aren't daunting enough for me. For example, IGN criticizes the control scheme as fighting with the player a bit, mentioning "it doesn't have the same polish as the controls from platforming classics like Banjo-Kazooie or Super Mario 64. To which I say, have you fucking played EITHER of those games, IGN? The control scheme in Banjo-Kazooie was abysmal--you were always fighting with it to get where you wanted in the game. And I don't remember Super Mario 64 being particularly kind on the matter of controls either.
But I will admit that control schemes being frustrating almost two decades ago does not merit them being lousy today, but that isn't a detail that is enough to put me off the game. Apparently there is also only five worlds plus the hub world in Yooka-Laylee, which is a little disappointing considering the original Banjo-Kazooie's ten, but at the same time most of the worlds in Banjo-Kazooie were actually really, really small, and from what I hear the worlds in Yooka-Laylee are much larger in comparison. so I don't know where the actual content ratio lays between the two games. The game is also running at somewhere around half the price of a AAA studio game, so I think I can be a bit forgiving if the content isn't on the same scale.
Anno
Have there been any games in similar vain at all lately? Maybe it's the type of gameplay that feels a bit dated.
Yuu
My book about bees came. Time to learn some stuff.
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>86582 yeah fuck mario 64 that control scheme was abysmal at times
>>86583 I wouldn't be surprised if it does feel dated for a lot of people--but I think that dated feeling is also what is attracting a lot of people to the game. Games today work under a different metric of qualities than they did two decades ago, since the player demographics have changed drastically since that time. Mechanics and design concepts that were popular back then just don't float with the average playerbase today, but I think there is still a definite niche for that dated gameplay.
>>86601 There's nothing wrong with doing many things at once. I get to get honey, save the bees, and save/make some money on the side. It's a win/win/win.

Yuu
>>86606 I've exterminated wasp nests. You wear a beekeeper suit when dealing with the hive, anyway.
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
I actually found wasps easier to exterminate sure they are more aggressive, but they also abandon the nest quite easily bees on the otherhand fight to the death and come at you in 100+ swarms compared to the odd few wasps you get
It's not really the size that is the problem. The last ones I encountered were only the size of a wasp or a large bee. What is scary about them is that they combine the swaming behavior of bees with the ability to sting multiple times that wasps have. Their stings are usually very nasty too. There was a tree last year that hornets built in, I did not mess with it al all. We just waited for winter so they'd die.
Anno

Kirara !Sh0sAiDORU
>>86693 >>86694 Sorry. Let me stop you guys here and explain what actually happened on the United flight.
The flight was full, but United decided they should move 4 additional crew members. Since the flight was full, this wasn't possible without getting rid of a passenger. Nobody volunteered to leave, so the computer randomly picked someone. It chose a 69 year old Asian doctor desperately trying to get home to his patients. He didn't want to leave because he paid for his ticket, so the police boarded the plane, more or less beat the shit out of him and slammed his face into an armrest causing him to start bleeding, and dragged him out of the plane while he screamed in terror.
United released an official statement calling it unfortunate. The police released an official statement calling the injuries "incidental" fall injuries.
『sk』
>>86696 Or not, because people are still gonna fly with them regardless

So he paid for a service The provider of said service hit the lever on an RNG, and it told them to "fuck that guy" And this was legal And not only was it legal, the cops helped

>>86764 My parents know I'm a weeb. My dad even knows about 4chan.
八十八
>>86765 let's move in together and take turns being neet one week on, one week off that should work out
『sk』
>>86767 I have never heard about this Not for simply being within an airplane, at least
Kannagi
>>86769 If only we were identical twins and could go to work in each other's places. No need to take holidays off since we'd be "going" to work just taking weeks off as we replace each other.
Yuu
>>86770 Have you read the fine print on an aircraft ticket? There are lots of places you forfeit rights for entering. For example, if you go into a courthouse or a police station, you generally forfeit your right to object to searches.
>>86773 You want to be a lawyer but you have a problem with fine print?
>reading the fine print Rika please I'm not American The rest of us barely even know what our rights are because we really don't need to
『sk』
I have a problem with shady shit across the board
Kirara☆
>>86772 Yeah. I introduced him to it during the divorce. He immediately went on /g/ and shitposted about people stealing his internet waves until we got banned.
『sk』
I'm pretty sure we straight up don't RECOGNIZE fine print legally Because it's deliberately and exclusively for the purpose of obscuring parts of the contract
Kannagi
>>86774 I thought you said you had shady shit on your keyboard. I made me think of all the disgusting keyboards I have seen.
八十八
>>86771 screw that noise we livin the LLC life be our own boss
『sk』
>>86777 I do, but that's not what I'm talking about
Yuu
>>86774 What's that got to do with reading fine print?
Woops >>86778 Running a business might be nice, it might be stress at the start but once it gets steam I think it might be a comfortable source of income. provided the CEO doesn't have to personally keep things alive all the time.
『sk』
JUST USE ANOTHER PAGE
Yuu
>>86782 Why? It's important to outline terms and conditions.
>>86775 It's always funny when normies get introduced to 4chan.
『sk』
Because it doesn't serve any purpose beyond obscuring the information Does the US even recognize fine print? I don't think you do
Yuu
>>86786 "Fine print" is just an expression. It describes the block of text about terms, conditions, and rights. It has to be legible.
『sk』
It's also an actual thing where you write shit tiny so it's techincally there but fucking impossible to read
八十八
>>86783 You do know I'm running my own business, right? a bakery would be more fun though
Kirara☆
>>86785 Yeah. My dad is a weird normie though. Shitposting is in his blood.
Yuu
>>86788 It's legible on plane tickets. And most things. You're putting yourself at risk if you make it so small that it can't be read.
ToN
Don't lose your wings even if it turns to ash
『sk』
Well in either case, a company can't take away your rights that protect you from the government, so it's not really relevant No matter what contract you make with McDonald's, the cops don't get to beat you
Kannagi
>>86789 I thought you were a independent contractor working with a company to do transcripts? Running a bakery or a cafe sounds nice. I wanted to run a cafe with books. I imagined a cafe with ornate carved wood and a big library. probably would not work in real life.
Yuu
>>86793 You can agree to give up some of your rights by entering a place. You don't have to fly on airplanes, you know.
>>86794 That's true, and that's my relation to them. I have contracts with several companies, which makes me a contractor. I do work with them on independent contractor status. I don't have LLC status but logistically it's almost the same
>>86794 that sounds like it totally could work! it would just have not to be a massive library or something, just have some books that's how most of the cafes around saint louis were. the walls are bookshelves full of all neat things i've always wanted to run a cafe/bakery. that was my first job and i loved it
Kannagi
I can't quite remember how I wanted it. I guess I combined the two things I wanted a fancy library and cafe. but I don't know how much I like dealing with people. Most of my ideas are in vaccuum from social interaction. So I imagine adding customers into the equations makes a really different image.
Kannagi
Somewhere nice and comfy, where you can read and eat a little (without ruining the books), with nice furniture too. but it would be probably expensive and people would probably ruin the books and damage the furniture or not even be customers to cover the cost of the business.
八十八
>>86802 That sounds like it would be right at home in Zurich And people there would probably treat the books and furniture with respect
Kannagi
Sounds nice, I wouldn't mind just a simple village bakery at the base of a snowy mountain in some small village.
It is nice to imagine, I've always sort of dreamt of living at the base of a huge awe inspiring mountain.
八十八
>>86807 if you ever visit the US, hit Frisco Colorado i drove past this place four times total, it amazes me every time i got pulled over there once too i mean, you're actually already on a mountain, but this town is on a cozy spot right next to a peak
『sk』
moon you'll enjoy this And it is what I leave you with as I go to sleep
Goodnight moes
八十八
good night sk
Kannagi
>>86808 That looks really nice, I envy American's a little being able to travel across states without all the passports and visa stuff.
I should probably go to bed soon, its nearly 3am. I left the heating on for a bit so it is really warm, it is keeping me from feeling super tired, since I feel too hot.
八十八
>>86811 good night! have nice dreams about what kind of treats you'll serve at your cafe lemon tarts maybe all sorts of wonderful things
Kannagi
>>86812 Sweet dreams to you too! Today ended on a nice note, I think I will dream about my mountain bakery. Nighty
Yuu
bye bye
Time to set Persona aside for a minute and read about bees.
Koi
Both me and some other guy have identical Ryomas
八十八
>>86814 you should join us in switzerland and you can raise Swiss bees instead you can sell the honey to kannagi's cafe and also to my bakery for honey rye loaves it'll be great
Yuu
I wouldn't be able to do my day job in Switzerland.
八十八
>>86817 no no no you're confused this is after we retire our lifestyles after transmortality where we grow old and stay old forever
Yuu
Staying old forever sounds awful.
八十八
not super old just like, early retirement age like 50 maybe 55 that's not old old
Yuu
That's pretty old.
八十八
im probably gonna have to work my butt off until then just so i have money to do the things i want in life so i don't want to feel old when i'm just getting started!
Samurai !KW2DbpWwls
stay old forever until someone invents rejuvenation
八十八
And i never realized rejuvenation and juvenile shared a root!
Samurai !KW2DbpWwls
it's fun noticing all those things in words that i never saw before
No it kind of tenses up. Almost like it's trying to go through the motions of regurgitating but in an extremely specific part of it, instead of all down the esophagus.
Anno
Though that probably isn't what's actually going on but it's a weird feeling.
Koi
We meet again two robins and some faggot that I don't want to see
Koi
Guys, I've got ... I've made a realization. >>86838 I was going to say confession but it's not a confession. Because I'm only realizing this now so it's not like I held it in. But I just noticed that Ninian's voice reminds me of Piano.
Yes today is the not so anime day. There are only a few shows. It's the drought season.
Anno
Better get the ol' shotgun and noose out
Samurai !KW2DbpWwls
but then suddenly, ANIME!!!!

Bang and the sorrow
Suffering
Bang and the sorrow
So many boxes. Help.
Anno
That is a lot of boxes.
Kirara☆
It happens to boxes.
Yuu
Set them on fire!
Kirara☆
Wow, you little pyro, you.
Anno
Yeah you tiny pyro, you.
rook
>>86927 that is not a lot of boxes I've seen a lot of boxes
Anno
Oh hush you work in box central, USA.
rook
all my life is boxes
Anno
I am the bone of my box
Yuu
>>86938 Maybe you could teach Bang a thing or two about handling packages.
rook
bang can't handle these packages
Kirara☆
Bang probably has lots of package experience.
Yuu
They should meet up and give each other tips on handling packages.
rook
oh no the legendary double bullying
Kirara☆
>>86945 That sounds like a pretty professional meeting
Anno
>>>/watch?v=ZGfC2boki-I This apparently should have subs out by tomorrow night. If the rest of the music is as nice as this insert song I think it'll be a real treat for me.
It's also based off a completed novel series too, so it might even be a complete story.
>>86946 I'm not bullying. I'm just suggesting that you and bang have a package handling marathon together.
Anno
You know even if you remove the subtext from that you're basically asking them to marathon them doing their jobs. That doesn't sound entertaining in the slightest.
Kirara☆
Maybe they like it You don't know!
Yuu
>if you remove the subtext why would you do something like that?
Anno
I strip away subtext like nothing else. Exposing statements devoid of the insinuations that clothe them is my specialty.
Yuu
I bet bang is going to open all of those packages and inspect the contents. Do you ever do that, rook?
Kirara☆
You sure are fujo this morning.
Yuu
Package handling is one of the best moe memes, it can't be helped.
Kirara☆
Feels like a cheap knockoff of the 'bang is an uke' meme when applied to bang
>>86958 I think it's fine. Bang is an uke can really only be used to its fullest potential when Sugoi is around anyway. Sugoi is still off being a wow addict right now.
Anno
He's been a WoW addict for the past year and a half or something.
Kirara☆
Sugoi is dead.
Anno
He's been replaced by a robot that just plays shitty MMORPGs 24/7.
Kirara☆
Sugoi is the true robot.
Yuu
He's been a little more active recently. It is kind of surprising how well wow has kept his attention though.
Kirara☆
He caught the autism. It's over for him. He loves wow more than us.
Anno
we should force him to watch a show this season what show should he watch
