idk, being allergic to mango sounds worse i mean shellfish allergy sucks but a lot of people don't like seafood/shellfish anyways and shellfish allergies are common enough that you can easily live without interacting with them being allergic to mango when it's super popular and all over the place sounds really terrible
i would probably be way more upset about being allergic to shrimp than mango but the number of times i've actually had a chance to eat mango i can count on my hands so i'm sure it's the opposite way around for someone who has the opposite allergy i think mango tastes awesome though
it's caused me trouble a couple of times though i collapsed after drinking a protein drink that had veggies and also mango in it while i was at work once should have read the ingredients before i drank it
i also can't drink the arizona watermelon or fruit punch fruit cocktails even tho they taste super good because they have mango puree in it and puree always contains mango skin which is what i'm allergic to
i can eat peanuts but not shit like almonds or cashews i wasn't allergic until 2015

Based on recent studies, an estimated 25-40 percent of people who have peanut allergy also are allergic to tree nuts.2 In addition, peanuts and tree nuts often come into contact with one another during manufacturing and serving processes. For these reasons, allergists usually tell their patients with peanut allergy to avoid tree nuts as well.

Ah, I see. I wonder if that would have had the similar backlash it had if something similar had been done in the pre-social media world. After all I wouldn't have thought twice about seeing it--which leads me to believe there's a substantial portion of the world that wouldn't have done so either. Without social media to give an immediate contextualization, would it have inspired the same kind of backlash?

Anno
Yooka-Laylee releases tomorrow at noon for me. I think I might stream it.
Anno
What are your expectations going in?
Anno
I expect to enjoy it a fair bit. There's a lot of nostalgia for the Banjo-Kazooie games in me that is going to undeniably skew my bias of it. Visually the game looks charming and colourful and I've always enjoyed collecting inane stuff in video games. Whenever I see people complaining about collectathon mechanics in modern games it's always been a little funny for me, since that mechanics has always been something I've enjoyed since Banjo-Kazooie.
Atleast there will be no characters voiced by NAZIES
Anno
I've also been looking over the reviews from gaming blogs and the such recently, and I generally appreciate what they compliment, and most of the things they complain enough aren't daunting enough for me. For example, IGN criticizes the control scheme as fighting with the player a bit, mentioning "it doesn't have the same polish as the controls from platforming classics like Banjo-Kazooie or Super Mario 64. To which I say, have you fucking played EITHER of those games, IGN? The control scheme in Banjo-Kazooie was abysmal--you were always fighting with it to get where you wanted in the game. And I don't remember Super Mario 64 being particularly kind on the matter of controls either.
But I will admit that control schemes being frustrating almost two decades ago does not merit them being lousy today, but that isn't a detail that is enough to put me off the game. Apparently there is also only five worlds plus the hub world in Yooka-Laylee, which is a little disappointing considering the original Banjo-Kazooie's ten, but at the same time most of the worlds in Banjo-Kazooie were actually really, really small, and from what I hear the worlds in Yooka-Laylee are much larger in comparison. so I don't know where the actual content ratio lays between the two games. The game is also running at somewhere around half the price of a AAA studio game, so I think I can be a bit forgiving if the content isn't on the same scale.
Anno
Have there been any games in similar vain at all lately? Maybe it's the type of gameplay that feels a bit dated.
>>86583 I wouldn't be surprised if it does feel dated for a lot of people--but I think that dated feeling is also what is attracting a lot of people to the game. Games today work under a different metric of qualities than they did two decades ago, since the player demographics have changed drastically since that time. Mechanics and design concepts that were popular back then just don't float with the average playerbase today, but I think there is still a definite niche for that dated gameplay.
>>86601 There's nothing wrong with doing many things at once. I get to get honey, save the bees, and save/make some money on the side. It's a win/win/win.
>>86598 I'm pretty excited. I probably won't get the bees themselves out and working until next year though.
>>86603 You see me kill two birds with one stone all the time.
>>86604 Stings don't bother me, I've been stung by bees and wasps many times. One time I stuck my hand into a wasp nest. It hurts a little but it's really not that bad.
I actually found wasps easier to exterminate sure they are more aggressive, but they also abandon the nest quite easily bees on the otherhand fight to the death and come at you in 100+ swarms compared to the odd few wasps you get
It's not really the size that is the problem. The last ones I encountered were only the size of a wasp or a large bee. What is scary about them is that they combine the swaming behavior of bees with the ability to sting multiple times that wasps have. Their stings are usually very nasty too. There was a tree last year that hornets built in, I did not mess with it al all. We just waited for winter so they'd die.
Anno
I'm good at not getting stung by anything so for me it's really how terrifying a creature is.
but mining bees THOSE are the real fuckers aggressive as fuck and you can easily step on a nest as they are bloody underground and invisible and then WHAM barefooted you running in the woods are stung by 20 bees in your foot and chased away by a swarm of 100 fucking bastards

『sk』
It's like calling all ISPs faggots because of comcast
>>86693 >>86694 Sorry. Let me stop you guys here and explain what actually happened on the United flight.
The flight was full, but United decided they should move 4 additional crew members. Since the flight was full, this wasn't possible without getting rid of a passenger. Nobody volunteered to leave, so the computer randomly picked someone. It chose a 69 year old Asian doctor desperately trying to get home to his patients. He didn't want to leave because he paid for his ticket, so the police boarded the plane, more or less beat the shit out of him and slammed his face into an armrest causing him to start bleeding, and dragged him out of the plane while he screamed in terror.
United released an official statement calling it unfortunate. The police released an official statement calling the injuries "incidental" fall injuries.
So he paid for a service The provider of said service hit the lever on an RNG, and it told them to "fuck that guy" And this was legal And not only was it legal, the cops helped
>>86705 How naive. An empty seat is a greater evil to them than having to remove a passenger. It's not a logistical error, it's that they don't care that they have to sometimes remove passengers.

>>86794 That's true, and that's my relation to them. I have contracts with several companies, which makes me a contractor. I do work with them on independent contractor status. I don't have LLC status but logistically it's almost the same
>>86794 that sounds like it totally could work! it would just have not to be a massive library or something, just have some books that's how most of the cafes around saint louis were. the walls are bookshelves full of all neat things i've always wanted to run a cafe/bakery. that was my first job and i loved it
I can't quite remember how I wanted it. I guess I combined the two things I wanted a fancy library and cafe. but I don't know how much I like dealing with people. Most of my ideas are in vaccuum from social interaction. So I imagine adding customers into the equations makes a really different image.
Somewhere nice and comfy, where you can read and eat a little (without ruining the books), with nice furniture too. but it would be probably expensive and people would probably ruin the books and damage the furniture or not even be customers to cover the cost of the business.
