If you make a remake or readaption or something, mux and mix. Give some sort of a reason, why it is there. This was the same issue I had with the Evil Dead remake, which was a good movie. Article 1: Perjury before Independent Counsel Ken Starr's grand jury.
In his conduct while President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has willfully corrupted and manipulated the judicial process of the United States for his personal gain and exoneration, impeding the administration of justice, in that:
On August 17, 1998, William Jefferson Clinton swore to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth before a Federal grand jury of the United States. Contrary to that oath, William Jefferson Clinton willfully provided perjurious, false and misleading testimony to the grand jury concerning one or more of the following:
(1) the nature and details of his relationship with a subordinate Government employee; (2) prior perjurious, false and misleading testimony he gave in a Federal civil rights action brought against him; (3) prior false and misleading statements he allowed his attorney to make to a Federal judge in that civil rights action; and (4) his corrupt efforts to influence the testimony of witnesses and to impede the discovery of evidence in that civil rights action.
In doing this, William Jefferson Clinton has undermined the integrity of his office, has brought disrepute on the Presidency, has betrayed his trust as President, and has acted in a manner subversive of the rule of law and justice, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.
Wherefore, William Jefferson Clinton, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.

Well the PM turned out to be quite a crook, who is under several investigations of nepotism corruption and whatnot.
Yeah It's more like If you're not taken by some actual ideology, you're unlikely to be sufficiently motivated to get loud politically
Communists are LOUD because they believe in this thing that will solve society Nazis are LOUD because that Meanwhile most people who don't have any particular ideology just don't have much to say in a unified way

i'm loud because i don't know what's right but i do know that everyone else is wrong
>>66436 Uh UH Uh I don't think you can class a state losing control of its own people as "more peaceful" than some places that every now and then have a few guys with rifles going ham
There's more terrorism in Germany\France\UK, but terrorism doesn't really matter Sweden is becoming unstable That's way more severe They're LOSING CITIES to criminal gangs Towns, anyway Parts of cities
Cops don't respond to emergency calls in certain parts of Sweden because gangs call in emergencies and then hang around to SHOOT THE COPS WHO SHOW UP
I mean, there was the "riot over crimelord drugdealer being arrested" just on the night that trump said "last night in sweden" of course, that is normal thing to happen you know, violent car burning, window smashing riots over gang arrests. happen in every city
>>66446 Hmm yeah breivik was politically motivated so he counts as terror attack
『sk』
To be fair they expanded the definition a very long time ago and it's roughly the same as most of the world Like it's a talking point, but the rape has risen MORE AND MORE as immigration has kept going And the definition change was A LONG TIME AGO
AND polls show that women in Sweden are MORE hesitant to even report rates, meaning THEIR ALREADY HIGHER THAN EVERYONE ELSE'S NUMBERS are also reported at a lower rate than everyone else It's fucking insanity
Yeah sweden would have higher rape counts even if they had no problems, but their rape rates are STILL fucking rising constantly. and curiously took that dive after they took their "humanitarian superpower" stance.
>>66452 Well that too, there are the vengeance moves when someone does report in some circles. those are rare, though but so are >>66451 But still some are just afraid to report, or don't think the police can do anything or are willing to do
『sk』
Turns out the same circles of people likely to do revenge for reports are the same ones who think rape is a legitimate moral action
Well this kind of sounds obvious, but the first step in a progressive society is protecting women from rape. Being free from rape/sexual coercion is like step #1 when it comes to women's liberation.
>>66455 Sweden kept going up the steps so far they forgot about the first one, so it fell off Now they can't go back down again so they have to keep climbing
>>66460 A finnish principal or town official said to the local students "please wear less provocative clothing" when there were reports of harrasment to girls I think it was middle school age
>>66457 No, what I'm saying is different. I'm saying that the first step on the road to equality for women is protection from rape. Women can't be equal in a society where you can't go there because you'll get raped or you can't wear that because you'll get raped.
>>66464 You're just being ethnocentric Other cultures disagree with you, and they're equally valid despite literally throwing rocks at women who got raped
I should make a shitpost twitter and tweet about the poor "20 million chinese men, who will never have a wife or a girlfriend" and demand that us europeans with plenty of women, claim them as refugees we have space.
I can't remember a case of the cops here lying to the public, either I mean there was one corrupt cop who's being prosecuted now, but I'm not sure what exactly he did I assume it was just some monetary stuff
>>66484 Yeah there is a guy who was charged with running a drug trafficing circle as side business, while being capital district chief of police Like straight from a movie or a comic...
『sk』
Then again, different kinds of places Scandiland a big on everyone being civil human beings
Or when trying to deescalate something and there's a safety aspect, I guess
Acting in their official capacity as police officers, lying is like the worst fucking thing you could have them do How are people gonna trust the cops at all when they have a license to just fucking lie to your face? Come on
Like "yes we have a warrant" O-OK what fucking choice do you have now? Take the gamble? Call their bluff? If it's not a bluff they're adding resisting arrest to whatever they get you on, even if they find nothing they have you for resisting now good job Don't call it? You just let the cops search your shit without a warrant because they MADE YOU THINK THEY DO
Do you expect anyone other than a lawyer to be able to? >>66503 This can work Though you did just let them in without asking to \\\ Even if you asked to see it, what evidence do you have that they even claimed to have a warrant? All they have to do is say they just asked to look around, and that's the end of this entire court case because NOTHING THEY DO OUTSIDE OF A SMALL AREA IN FRONT OF THE CRUISER IS RECORDED
I don't even know how this shit works here, and that's because I literally will not ever need to know I can with near certainty say I will never interact with police throughout my entire life
You can even see how it became as such I think the batman quote how did it go "we get bulletproof vests, they get armour piercing bullets. You start to wear a mask..."
No it was always ment to be a thrilogy or well not always, but after they started writing the second one but I bet the drafts for the finale got rewritten once ledger died
『sk』
Though did his death really influence the 3rd movie? Weren't they done filming already?
how to fuck yourself Step 1: get offered impossible job on a stupidly short deadline Step 2: Accept the offer Step 3: get offered a second impossible job on the same deadline because you're the only one who can do the work and nobody else will step 4: accept again and forfeit sleep for two days step 5: finish and turn in by deadline step 6: "You didn't do a very good job on these"
>>66533 ¨Space ship goes boom is my guess and digital/stock footage is used with an imitator voice actor or something

Yeah pretty much. It's reasonable as a general of the Rebellion for her to be on a ship that's in potential danger.
>>66537 That's another one I'd been figuring too. But I think she had a stronger attachment to the franchise than Ford did and wouldn't be against sticking around as long as she wanted.

Anno
>>66538 She's not really that old in the movies though. Even if we assume thirty years have passed since the events of the original trilogy, she'd still only be around fifty years old. In a sci-fi setting that's practically a youngster.
Luke and leia are like 50-60 han was about his actors age always though
『sk』
50-60 is a pretty old age considering they're a rebellion against an empire that controls the galaxy but I guess they have medical shit on lock even in rebellion HQ
What kinda bothers me about star wars, is just how short the clone wars was just few years it is a fucking galactic war, a fucking war on one continent between similiarly matched forces can take here years to no end and a galactic war is supposed to be over in just few years?
>we're supposed to believe an empire spanning an entire galaxy made ONE death star rather than like 150K
Anno
>>66561 Well in Star Wars, they can travel massive distances in almost instantaneous timespans. So matters of logistics are probably less time-consuming and headache inducing.
>>66563 The Death Star was considered a development project on a galactic scale though. Remember this thing was the size of a moon. Not even a city or even a country. A moon.
This is like making ONE grenade when you're trying to maintain order in the entire continental United States of America Granted you can reuse it, but it's insanely retarded
『sk』
REMEMBER THE EMPIRE LITERALLY RUNS AN ENTIRE GALAXY
Anno
Not terribly efficiently though. The outer reaches of the galaxy weren't exactly under total empiric command.
>>66567 What's the thing made of, fucking plutonium?
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>66564 Yes but we are still talking like thousands and thousands of ships battling over thousands and thousands of worlds with thousands and thousands of clones vs millions and millions of battledroids
If you're in control of an entire galaxy but you can't get the materials to make more than one moon-shaped super weapon, you shouldn't be running the damn joint
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>66565 it was death star 1 there would've been 100s of them
>>66572 First death start took 10+ years to build but the second one was done in the time between 4 and 6 nooope it had already been in construction for a while
But the point is they wouldn't have needed that many they already had a fleet big enough to control the galaxy and with a weapon that can pop up in about months time in any known space and BOOM goes planet you don't need that many of them 1 would be enough but just to prove the point why not make 10?
I'd keep about 1000 around at the least Dude there's a LOT of fucking planets in a galaxy Even if like 0.1% of them start shit, if you have one death star and you're sending it to destroy planets in rapid succession with about a month's travel time between each, your empire will crumble from just political shit way before you stop that insurgency
That would've prolly been the eventuality. but remember they only had maybe like 10 to 100 of those super stardestroyers vader had and those already were HUUUGE bigger than any ship ever
>>66579 "the systems will be kept align by the fear of this battle station" You only need a nuke or two to prevent people from rebelling. >>66586 You really don't understand power politics.
『sk』
No you need a TON Because if your deterrent relies on NOBODY rebelling, the second a few start, others will follow because "they can't nuke all of us"
Anno
Also never mind all the people you need to staff a single Death Star. Those things were huge.
>>66586 The Imperial FLEET was deterrent enough to stop everyone from rebelling already the rebel alliance at the point of Ep4 was small SMALL the only reason it got big, was because they managed to destroy the death star
>>66589 maintaining shit cleaning food the 10-20k stormtroopers some several hundred to several thousand fighter pilots all the people manning the turbolasers navigators officers so on and so on

>>66605 Generally not that bad they fucked over rear worlds and low population places landed there, stripped them bare and moved on if they needed or made the population into practically slaves or conscripted them to work for them.
But in the core worlds not that much changed for people, aside you know basic autocracy things like barely freedom of speech and shit but compare it to germany, if you didn't have a beef with the gov, the gov didn't have a beef with you (most of the time)
>>66609 Add to that, there wasn't that much corruption, no slow bureaucracy, endless depates in the inefficient senate and that the emperor had just saved you from the long /destructive clone war and destroyed the militant faith organisation that had started it
『sk』
The rebellion could be opposing what's basically the necessary evils of an effective government on that kind of scale Politics in general could be vastly different when you reach that kind of size
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
Also, the empire treated humans generally well and made the non-human species lash out against them so the dividing tensions also kept the peace
But still it was as shitty as any dictatorship here some people were content to kneel before it, but most did it begrudgingly and those that didn't well they weren't around the next day Stalin was effective ruler, but was he a good one naah
But maybe dictatorship was a necessity to keep shit in line when every planet could go rogue and really fuck with everyone else Interplanetary relations could be more flimsy than international relations Like at least we're on the same planet here
>>66615 Not really the republic had lasted thousands of years and kept it all in check the Sith plan was to fuck things over so the republic would WILLINGLY give itself to them.

In 20K years when we can finally colonize space and not just our own solar system, being a human is gonna be interesting
I wonder how we're even gonna handle colonies within our own solar system It's a very long distance to travel, we might not be able to keep a leash on them politically, and having any sort of rule might be impossible I wanna see this
But to do that, I must live, and for that I need sleeps Which I'll get now
>>66622 Well... when colonialism was a thing, the trip between homeland and colonies was about as long as trip to mars is now...
『sk』
>>66624 No way We still wouldn't be ale to reach Mars in a super long time, and that's 1 way Let alone send enough stuff to actually enforce something like taxes It'd cost like a million times more to send the ships over to go "cut that shit" than the taxes lost >>66627 Yeah but you're not considering the price difference Merchants could afford traveling back and forth and sell their goods at an affordable price to people
Sending a single ship to Mars right now is super expensive Super duper expensive Like not possible for more than a few non-government organizations, and even they couldn't regularly do this shit
Yeah it can take less than half a year to get there if you leave at the right time of year. Which colonists of the Colonial era would have been taking into account too when making the trip across the Atlantic.
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>66625 it took 4-6 months depending on winds to sail FROM england to India one way trip
>>66625 The East India Trade company started out with one ship, and about equilevant of 10 million pounds just to fund a trip to india and back and buy enough spices to make profit
>>66628 Are you okay? a psychology book i read once said that if a friend of yours starts obsessively posting pictures of waffles on an imageboard for six hours straight it's probably a cry for help
East India company started as partly state backed, partly private backed company and it prosprerd from its monopoly on indian trade remember MONOPOLY no vessel that was not sailing under english flag could trade there, but EIC and as british expanded there, the trade company expanded and eventually the trade company ended up expanding the british there but they tood bankrupted actually the downfall of EIC was one of the reasons GB had to raise taxes on its western colonies which led to the dissent over there and eventually rebellion.
>>66638 But the point is that the colonies, over atlantic in americas or africas or all the way to india, china, ocenia so on it took them as long as it takes us to get to mars one way and the trips were equally expensive in relation to the size of economies back then
Of course mars is more hostile, but so is our tech that much more advanced.
You know... how will they ever in relative close future, next feew hundred years ever be self-sufficient on mars they could produce food and maybe mine good amount of fuel and maybe produce enough energy with solar power but nope life ain't that simple they would still need the productive facilities that can only exist on a planet with an ATMOSPHERE
The key note there was that even with sufficient potato growth he could only extend his stay on Mars. It would definitely be possible to create near-sustainable environments on Mars by the time we're launching manned missions to the planet, but indefinitely sustainable environments are still a ways off.
>>66648 Why is Hawaii part of USA? Why does french have Island of Reunion in the fucking INDIAN OCEAN as part of it just because you could become independent and function doesn't mean you should.

>>66647 >antibiotics >plastic >anything oil based >medicine >water >advanced metals >computer chips the list goes on and on
Anno
That's why it's near-sustainable, nerd.
The fortunate thing about many of those things is that they are fairly light and can be sent in bulk.
Though some of them are potentially transferable into sustainable practices. Stuff like water and plastics recycling could potentially end up being so close to sustainable that any loss is negligible.
And since Mars is closer to the asteroid belt than Earth is, eventually they could even look to the belt for their precious metals and maybe even other materials and not need rely on Earth. If anything, this could even give Mars -give an independent Mars state trading power over Earth states because of all the resources they'd have easier access too.
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
Even our colonies on this planet needed
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
a constant relay of supplies in the form of
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
Fuck your errors doushio
in the form of trade, though and so it would in the end be with mars they'd eventually start prospecting for resources we need back home and we'd funnel them the supplies they need
even if they become practically self-sustainable then in all forms, it would still be more economical for them to keep the trade dependancy on keep sending materials to earth while earth sends them supplies they need
