I'm no good at not micromanaging where the opportuntiy arises. It's not exactly compulsive but it comes pretty damn close. I can't resist the urge to make sure things are kept orderly. Also it kind of falls apart with days like yesterday where stuff like JoJo and Index airs, which are popular shows. And the shows we do like but just get built up because we keep missing days, or can't fit them into a watch list earlier in the week.
I don't have a hard time keeping care of the list since I just write up what's in my torrent program since I don't remove stuff from it unless I've watched it. But I don't like seeing such a large list because, well, it's large. Seeing all the stuff in one pile makes my brain think about the amount of time/work needed to get through it all and also reminds me that new things are going to be coming in as we're working through what's already there and it just feels kind of overwhelming. Especially since it's fundamentally easy to not fall behind.
It would be nice to not have a list because generally, we don't watch enough in a season to actually fill up four shows a day, seven days a week. So if there wasn't anything backlogged, it would be easier to not feel like we need to be quick with starting and moving onto the next show, and it wouldn't be so often that it runs late or that there's a strong need to start on time. And I get I'm the only one that really gets worked up about it like this but I can't not do this, I don't know how to just let it go or not be frustrated or antsy about it. The optimal situation just seems so straightforward and accomplishable to me that it's difficult for me to see how other situations are better. The fact that other people have differing values on it is something I can understand, which is why I don't pressure more to get things done "my way" but man it just leaves me frustrated some times and it bubbles up like this.

it's a very immersive game considering it's a 2d platformer and you can barely even see your character half the time actually easier to keep track of in motion than i expected though, blue was true and i like how there's no dialogue and minimal scripted events outside of the major stuff it reminds me a lot of journey, that game is also incredible imo

imagine if you will two people are playing the same game at one point during their playthroughs, they both step onto the same location and align the camera in the same manner the video would then switch from the original source (player A) to the synced source (player B) then until they step on the same location, you are viewing player B's gameplay. when they do intersect in terms of visual scene again, it would switch to player A's gameplay for the next segment of video. except there are more than two players, there are like a thousand playthroughs stored, and the program is checking each video stream against the others to determine when to SHIFT.

doing it to merely video streams would require you to account for a certain amount of distortion between video streams in the case of lossy formats (pretty big) or store the video in lossless format and a lossless mp4 of 2 hours with fraps is like 90 fucking gigs

there's got to be an elegant solution for guaranteeing that it would happen quickly enough but i'm not sure how maybe you could cheat a bit and just snap two replays that get close enough together if the target replay ends up dying later in the stage or succeeding
it would be easier to do in a game that isn't so much of a reflex challenge as your standard platformer or a tough game of any kind though
if it was some casual kirby game it wouldn't matter
another difficult problem is that you're collecting metrics all about all aspect of gameplay from the client and that's a dangerous topic to get brought up you'd have to have a disclaimer and opt in function at least haha
