Oh yeah, theres a bunch of drunk birds in Minnesota right fucking now. Apparently a bunch of naturally occurring berries have fermented so the birds that eat them get drunk.

so contrary to what i said im playing the new asscreed bc someone gave me a copy
it's got a mode where it doesn't just give you directions to quest locations it says like "it's south of this landmark" or "they are probably within 250 meters of where the victims were attacked" and you explore and find it yourself it's neat
Is that affecting your ability to play the single player Assassin's Creed.
Kirara, M.S.
no, not yet but i wanted to see the stuff in the store to get an idea about armors and outfits and stuff you have like chestplates and stuff that you can get different ones of instead of just one that you upgrade and theres no outfit thing in my inventory equipment stuff
so im wondering how they'll shoehorn Altair's outfit in
Your phone has the right idea. Not wanting to anymore sure makes things easier.
Kirara, M.S.
not if you still have to

my initial impression of Odyssey is that im worried about characterization bayek was someone that we could connect to almost immediately my Kassandra feels like she doesn't have a personality at all like an hour in maybe something will happen that will make her interesting
The verdict in the Laquan McDonald case is about to be announced. I need to get the fuck out of the city fast. The protesters are going to try to shut down everything in the city.
haven't been playing im at a meeting right now just played like 3 hours so far
Anno
Ah, sorry.
I'm worried the issue I have with Origin might still be consistent with Odyssey; I've seen some negative reviews that might be indicating that. So I guess I should piece together this problem before I go for Odyssey.
Kirara, M.S.
the title screen issue?
Anno
It's the screen immediately after the title screen, but pretty close. So you load up the title, it says the "Press any button to continue" bit, after which it checks for "additional content" and then changes to a new splash screen which has a dessicated mummy behind a picture advertising some Ubisoft content. And then doesn't leave that screen. I even let it sit there for the couple hours I was cooking on Wednesday and it made no headway.
Updated them on Wednesday as a test solution, made no difference either way. Though Task Manager does report that my GPU is pretty much hitting 100% usage during that splash screen, so I don't know, maybe something's up.
>>582846 Long story short, I watched this pretty compelling documentary about this group therapy session they do in Folstom Prison over in california where they mix convicts and regular folks in a big group therapy session. It was pretty masculine as far as the treatments go and I guess my question is what's your experience been like conducting group therapy sessions. Have they been separated by gender, is it co-ed, and have your female collegues been involved in an all female group therapy session and, if so, what have their experiences been like?
Documentary's called Storyville - The Work Four Days to Redemption.2017.720p.WEBRiP.h264.AAC.ReLeNTLesS if you'd like to check it out. The thing that really struck me as odd is uh, just about all of the breakthroughs and openings they showed with the folks there involved father figures. So I'm curious to the flip side of that experience, men opening up about their mothers or whatever instead. >>582850 Yes no maybe i don't know can you repeat the question you're not the boss of me now and you're not so big
Anno
Can you re-peat the quest-tion
Kirara, M.S.
>>582849 all my groups have been co-ed gender segregation is only really in prison settings
LV
>>582851 >prison settings Right, and I figured as much. I'm pretty sure there's some groups/spaces that primarily focus on men and the like. The kinds of therapy they offered initiated some uh, really violent triggers and outbursts with the men there. Given the whole adrenaline surge and all involved in actions like that, I guess I just wonder if it's something that's inherent to the male prison setting or if other folks have lashed out violently in a group setting as well. I can / can't imagine some women really letting out that vicious violent side unless it's a specific setting and even then, I guess I'm curious about that kind of place emotionally. To be able to lash out and vent out your frustrations in an atmosphere of utmost trust sounds a hell of a lot more therapetic than going around in circles and analyzing over whatever.
how have I never listened to the music with headphones on what the fuck i love DAOKO now again
LV
>>582858 What headphones? Listening to a beloved album with a pair of high quality headphones/iems is intimate as fuck. I love it.
Though, you also miss out on the interaction with the speakers and the room depending on your speakers... >>582860 >listening to it on your phone without headphones No offense but uh, ew lol
I'm playing Dragalia Lost on my phone and all the vocal music is by DAOKO and it's been good but I haven't put headphones in my phone this whole time and GOD THE BOSS MUSIC IS SO GOOD
I can't just go around playing games on my phone while also wearing headphones. That's both visual and audio impairment
Kirara, M.S.
>>582852 group therapy usually comes down to education and problem-solving venting is usually saved for one-on-one therapy if it's intense i guess you do vent a bit in some groups though
I have only co-op'd with one friend and they rerolled shortly after they found out about my amazing first roll. I don't think anyone I know is beyond co-op yet.

Kirara, M.S.
I don't understand the main character of the new AssCreed some fucking random shows up, asks her to find something, she does, and then he's like "lol you keep it actually, btw will you kill a general for me?" and she says "im not an assassin" and he says "you'll be good at it" and she's just like "oh ok ill kill the general for you"

FormerRei@mobile
There's a sandwich at a sandwich place I go to called an Italian.
Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend. And then I get reading week next week.
Kirara, M.S.
what do you eat on Canada Thanksgiving
Anno
Pretty standard Thanksgiving fare. Turkey, ham, potato dishes, some times there's a cranberry dish. Maybe we'll do a roasted pan of potatoes and tuber veggies. Beets and squash are pretty popular too.
Kirara, M.S.
do you call it canadian thanksgiving in Canada
Anno
The legal or whatever name for it seems to be Canadian Thanksgiving. Like that's what you'll see on calendars that come with holidays written in. But everyone just calls it Thanksgiving.
Kirara, M.S.
that's so weird that it's actually called canadian thanksgiving legallh
Anno
Well historically we've generally had to accomodate the American Thanksgiving too. So it's not uncommon to see it on calendars too ... I think? I'unno American Thanksgiving was probably instituted firs- Actually, hm. Yeah I dunno who gets to take first here. The date's been moved around so many times for both sides. America did -stop- moving it around first though.
I like the food of Thanksgiving. And it's one of the few holidays that my extended family can agree is a good chance to get together. I think there's a more laidback experience with it here as opposed to down there since it isn't paired with Black Friday.
The winter is wonderful because it saves me $50 a month
Anno
It makes things much more expensive here. At the least when my parents are out of the city in the summer we don't run any air conditioning. But we'll run the heat pretty much as soon as it gets too cold.
It's already cold enough that my shins and feet are getting frozen up, and that's with wearing socks and slippers. I don't like how easy it is to get cold during the winter.
so far they're doing a poor job of highlighting her motivation for doing anything though which is very disappointing
Anno
Maybe they were worried about being too same-y to the introduction hook from Origins. And swung too hard the other way.
月
maybe they wanted anybody and everybody to be relatable to her so they gave her no personality whatsoever
Kirara, M.S.
>>583021 that's my current impression their decision to let you make choices limits what they can do a lot
Anno
It's kind of a pretty pervasive storytelling binary in games. The more freedom of choice for the player, the less there is for a concrete story.
月

bayek had really good character development too watching him turn into an anarchist as the world kept fucking him over was awesome

/moe/ ive never eaten a pear
Anno
Really? They're a pretty decent fruit if you get them at the right ripeness.
Kirara, M.S.
yeah, never isn't that weird how did that happen
Anno
I guess it's kind of weird to me. We tend to get pears a few times a year in their best season. I imagine you're not the only one though.
Kirara, M.S.
you just eat them like apples, right? basically?
Anno
Pretty much yeah. You just keep biting off until you feel like you've gotten everything that's not the core. Some pears are pretty much visually indistinguishable from apples too. Or well shape-wise at least.
You got back just in time. The stream went offline for around ten minutes. Though you also missed kei since he went first.
Anno
I put in a support ticket with Ubisoft to see if they can bring any new information into my problem with running Origins. Though they do say it'll be a response within "a few business days", so odds are I can't even expect a response until the middle of next week. And I don't really have good expectations here.
At the least there might not be a similar issue with Odyssey, since the problem I thought might be mine seems to be a consistent problem reported across any Assassin's Creed game and I could run Syndicate fine. I don't really know though, I guess I could file for a refund if Odyssey doesn't load properly.
Yeah, I saw that last night. I get what Banksy was trying to do with that, presuming it was their trick at least, but on the other hand. Something like that's probably only going to increase the value of the piece afterwards.
But I'm also curious as to how that was all set up.
Kirara, M.S.
yeah, how'd he fit a shredder into that frame haha and how did nobody notice
Anno
Was he hiding in the crowd at the auction, holding a remote to trigger it the moment the sale went through? Did he have an insider? It's so mysterious.
Kirara, M.S.
haha he probably wasn't there his identity is known so they would have been asking him about it
Anno
Ah I wasn't aware of that. Probably an insider or, I'unno, was the event being broadcasted?
Kirara, M.S.
imagine if it was sound activated by the sound of the gavel
Kirara, M.S.
that has a lot of room for error though
Anno
That would be amazing. There's a -yeah, big chance of it triggering by accident.
Anno
You've got to figure the previous holder of the piece had to be in on the trick. It would be weird to hold it for a while and not realize there was a shredder built into the frame.

Not that it fully excuses this, but economies are kind of weird up north. There's a lot of money that goes into encouraging people to live up there.
月
the shipping prices to get it out there are insane sadly that's just how it is milk too that's why they love tang so much there so fuckin much you don't have to pay to ship the liquid and shit, just the powder, so to make 10 gallons of tang is like a whole lot cheaper than buying any shipped goods
Kirara, M.S.
economics is trash
月
they also make their tang really weak in a lot of those indigenous areas just flavoring for the water not some sugary bullshit i like that >>583094 i mean it is unreasonably difficult to ship across some of the northern areas i know it's not canada but in barrows alaska they gotta use a small charter plane to bring anything there or really even get there from an already remote location so like whatever shopowner in barrows is payin someone to bring extra cargo whenever they come on a tiny plane crazy

I feel like in the modern age there are ways society can make this less of a problem

Yeah Odyssey seems to load into the game fine for me. No clue what's wrong with Origins. Maybe I'll hear back from Ubisoft's support at some point.
Kirara, M.S.
the game is getting interesting now if you choose Kassandra, Alexios is still in the game i assume the same is true the other way around
Anno
Probably a safe assumption. I'm gonna be playing as the attractive Mediterreanean lass so I won't be able to check for you.
Kirara, M.S.
it seems like they're going to get really deep into the ones that came before in this game which makes sense considering we know the Greek gods were ancient aliens
there are tomb snakes in ac od that can one shot you damn
Anno
Guess they had to one-up the asshole snakes from Origins. The ones that didn't really do that much damage but kept so low to the ground that they'd still get a few good hits on you because you kept swiping above their heads.
After a point I just started shooting arrows at them.
I should give PAN my hard drive if that happens instead.

Sufficiently advanced luck is indistinguishable from money
even counting luck, there's no way to max out a wyrmprint that quickly the amount of exp that requires is insane and Wyrmprints are probably one of the lowest dropped things and even when they drop, they're not particularly 'rare', they're 2* prints that don't give much exp

I had a good food coma earlier from Thanksgiving dinner and now I've got like two litres of tea in a thermal carafe. Time to hole up in the bunkie and get annoyed with Plato.
Or maybe play Monster Hunter, but I realized after I got here that I forgot my headphones.
Kirara, M.S.
what kind of tea
Anno
Orange Pekoe, pretty much the only tea my family keeps on default. I like it really strong, which means it compliments the thermal carafe pretty nicely.
ToN

Case in point, the tea is still pretty scalding to the tongue despite having sat in the carafe for like two-three hours.
Kirara, M.S.
>>583319 nice that's good tea jan liked it when i made tea in the forest too
Anno
Orange Pekoe has always been like the "default" for tea for me. My family has a bit of a British spirit to it since my dad's parents lived in Britain before emigrating to Canada. So we've always had a box of tea in our cupboard, and that has pretty much always been Orange Pekoe.
>>583324 Man I'm not saying the tea is British, I'm saying it's British traditional to keep tea at all times.
