yesterday my co-organizer and i contacted a union print-on-demand business to learn about getting a store set up where we can sell shirts with our awesome new logo on it (at cost) and this dude was like eavesdropping on us and he piped in to start saying we gotta vote and who we should vote for and about how he goes to protests and he wouldn't let us actually get any words in to the conversation then he expressed interest in our organization and walked away without even saying anything to indicate he was done??? it was really weird
>>556985 nah he was just an old rich dude who thinks he's progressive he was like "i made a lot of money and retired early" and even said he's a landlord lmao
>>556984 there's only one print-on-demand shop that's a union shop in the entire United States
it's a good deal though $299 cost up front to set up the store and then people can buy merch whenever they want it and we set the prices of the merch so we can sell at cost or we can use it for fundraising the guy who runs it seemed really excited to potentially be working with us and is def a leftist
>>556986 I worry about it bc i don't want some right winger to get on our case the guy asked what our organization was and i said we're an activist group and my co-organizer, who is incredibly competent but very awkward, accidentally blurted out that we're the Democratic socialists of america haha
oh damn that's sick you got an idea what kinda shrits you'll be selling and how big the logos will be?
Maria
Yeah that red black and white is a pretty cool colour scheme
Kirara ๐
>>556990 since it's a store we can set up several variants we'll probably set up a working group to design the shirts and stuff at our next meeting, or they might just have me do it since i usually do that kind of stuff probably a version with the logo small on the left breast and a version with it big in the middle of the shirt
we're also looking at having stickers made my co-organizer wants to put them over trump stickers on cars but i don't want trump supporters to come murder us
a friend of mine once gave a tip regarding stickers that I quite liked when you give out stickers you gotta attach some kind of action to it. Such as post a picture on our facebook where you put the sticker or something like that that way people actually put it somewhere and are also engaged with your group
Kirara ๐
oh, good idea @jewdas, a british radical jewish org, was doing that with their jewish anti-fascists stickers
the big routes in my city all have the traffic light poles filled with stickers from all kind of student things is it the same in the city where your university is?
Kirara ๐
not really sometimes im gonna place some stickers though
then you have start an independent justice system to resolve property disputes
>>557014 uh let me check no not yet, I only see shitty movies
Kirara ๐
it's so good it's a movie about a black dude at a call center who has to learn to use his white voice it's written by a commie it's a big critique of american racism but mostly a critique of capitalism it's so funny ive seen it twice and got two people to agree to come to my org's meetings with it
when it comes out on BD you should watch it with me and SK if you're around
yeah sounds good, I like the synopsis already IMDB says the movie has only been shown in the US and canada so far with no release dates for other parts guess I'll have to "purchase" the blurays
Anno
United Red Army may be a movie you would enjoy haven't seen it myself yet, but a friend recommended it to me who's into similar stuff as I am if you can't find a download I'll make you one myself (and share outside moo ofc)
sounds like a bad idea after so many decades we're still dealing with asbestos here heck even the apartment I live in has asbestos in the walls. For any repair that causes damage, they need a specialized crew to deal with it of course this means no repairs are done, just band-aid measures
Kirara ๐
>>557025 asbestos is basically impossible to burn by normal means so he believes that the towers wouldn't have collapsed
this morning I read an article about baby eels getting caught illegally in europe, also a lot in NL, and being sold to China. They're then fed and raised there until they're sold everywhere. I saw one figure that 30% of the eel bought from china is actually "european" eel. apparently mafias are selling baby eels because it makes just as much cash as drugs, but getting caught is much less likely
The first time Reimu goes to beat her up after the boss fight ends she forcefully ejects Reimu from the fight using her door nonsense and considers it a forfeit. What a fun cheater
The fact that her doors have to be on the back of things makes it kind of limited but yeah
Reimu gets Yukari's help to stop her from doing that the second time. But Matara comments that Reimu's also cut off her only way to escape by doing that.
I don't know if it's distinctly against some rules or if Matara's just bullying her so she can just say Reimu fled from her

I know you'd only ever play JP voices but I wonder if any other good dub VAs got into Octopath I know Patrick Seitz voices the soldier fellow but that's about it. Seitz is always good.
Anno
I've heard some of the English dubbed lines for the soldier. It's pretty bland. At least it's not as bad as the Cleric character.
Considering we have a lot on our planned plate as is, I considered having Berseria available for you to try briefly.
Anno
>>557168 It doesn't really surprise me. It looks like it was trying to emulate the feel of those old-timey pixel graphics JRPGs. And something people seem to forget in their nostalgia for them is that those games were mechanically complex, but really bland and uninspired for the most part elsewise. Or well, maybe not mechanically complex, but more, detailed. Like having thirty different spells with four levels of power to each, and then another fifty kinds of skills to play with for your more melee types. But the actual game is just ... not engaging.
I'd probably be keen on it if I wasn't already supposed to be clearing other games and if it was on sale
Kirara ๐
>>557171 the combat is nice but the story portions are so ridiculously narratively heavy that it becomes a slog especially considering characters never interact with each other and people who are ideologically opposed to each other work together my merchant just had her story arc about not stealing next character i find is a thief and the merchant goes with him to steal something from a mansion no cross-dialogue just completely separate characters that are in the same party but don't interact and don't exist concurrently in the story
Kirara ๐
and then some characters are boring and have boring stories that i don't care about but i still have to go through an hour long narrative portion with them

i got my DSA chapter's follower count from 100 to 300 in a few months when it gets into the thousands ill just rebrand the account as my main account jk
you really think that'd work? it seems like it's too big to fail and aren't you worried you will inheret the same structure? would be tough to continue it without making compromises with others
Kirara ๐
yeah, we're already making progress actually national is pretty unpopular we should be able to start breaking it up in early 2019 although we're technically already getting allies
our plan is to move into a more horizontal federated structure divided into regions with similar material conditions this way regions can share resources easily and develop systems of mutual aid that people can rely on they wouldn't be beholden to anyone but themselves, so chapters would have all the power over themselves, but we would pool resources regionally right now organization is really difficult because national keeps getting in the way of everything and they want people in different parts of the country to organize in the same fucking ways which makes no sense
right now we're basically co-opting, reinforcing, and strengthening a large regional caucus my co-organizer knows pretty much everyone so he's getting us a lot of support
if we can get our upcoming regional convention to be successful, we should gain a lot of important support
the south has almost no representation in the DSA National structure so if we can convince people that our solution is better, we can break like 10-15 states out of the DSA which will inevitably lead to other regional orgs starting we'd all be the same org but just divided more regionally there would still be national caucuses that work together to coordinate things but they'd be led - well, for example, there could be a big city caucus where associated chapters work together to improve organizing in big cities, stuff like that but all power would belong to individual local chapters
Structure determines results in a big way I think it sounds cool to change it in the way you've described it, at least
Kirara ๐
dsa is shitty rn it was set up to be an organization of 5000 people it's grown over two years to like 50000 national can't handle it we need to break it up if we want to be effective
>>557195 interesting I can see this working. Especially since you're just breaking away from the old ways
Kirara ๐
>>557198 because nobody expected it to grow quickly
Kirara ๐
>>557199 yeah a revolution to make our org revolutionary! im excited for it there will be some difficulties ofc but it'll be worth it if it actually allows us to work there's been a halt on new chapters bc national is the single point of contact for establishing new chapters and they can't keep up some of the biggest orgs that are doing the most organizing with the DSA name are still "organizing committees" and not full chapters yet it's really stupid national is really totalitarian too they hide their proceedings from us or at least make it nearly impossible to learn what they're doing it makes me sick can't wait to see them fall
the regional federation would have a sort of council that would handle it it's basically based on the federated system of anarchist communes in spain in the 30s the council would have very limited power and would mostly just do stuff like ensure chapters aren't organizing on the same spots to help prevent too much overlap in day-to-day organizing, and they would help coordinate resource pooling
I would think that's what the national thing is for in what ways do they hold you back besides being slow? I don't know anything about the DSA besides some shitty tweets tbqh
Kirara ๐
they don't do anything they control resources basically but their priorities are all fucked up and they don't share information so nobody knows what's going on but there's no system in place to coordinate resource sharing between chapters other than national which doesn't work DSA National did a fundraiser to help with medical bills after Cville 2017 (the protest where Heather Heyer was killed by a right winger) and it took them 8-10 months to release those funds to the injured people in that time, Cville DSA was fighting fash weekly and continued getting hurt so the medical bills rose and rose as long as people are relying on national, we can't do anything because national won't the only thing national has done is organize some regional trainings but all they did was really authorize it national does nothing to encourage actual organizing and considers victories to be things like the DSA being used as a stepping stone for a "progressive" to get elected and then they disown the DSA and national calls it a success
>>557206 it was reasonable at the time nobody had any reason to believe the org could ever hope to expand to this size
>>557200 But But making it like that to begin with seems like they didn't intend it to grow to begin with, like it wasn't actually supposed to be used for mass organizing at all
>>557205 sounds like you're making the right step you said you're into contact with a lot of other chapters, right?
Kirara ๐
>>557208 yeah, especially in the South we're planning a big southern caucus conference in January or February and we'll have like 20 chapters from throughout the south there we're going to talk about a lot of this stuff and also have a big southern commie cookout
Kirara ๐
>>557207 it was a defeatist attitude that's why we have to cull that obsolete shit
Anno
>>557209 with such a number you can already split if everyone is down for it is that your plan?
Kirara ๐
>>557211 more-or-less chapters will have to agree with it so basically we are prepping everyone for our plan and then after the convention, we'll send people home to convince their chapters of it we might do some talks about it and videos too we're going all-out on i
>>557212 what about things like contributions? will you keep paying national while keeping the names? sounds like it could get ugly legally
Kirara ๐
>>557214 nah, national won't exist but there will probably be regional dues, although most of that will go to the chapter legally, we can organize it in a way where there // where chapters can use the non-profit organization status of the "national" DSA but that national DSA will have zero power over anything outside of being a point where chapters can share resources on a national level
Anno
I was more thinking about how you're paying dues to current national, I think at least, and if you split you probably stop but keep the name won't that bring any troubles?
Kirara ๐
no, not really there have been dues strikes before technically, non-dsa members can organize with DSA members under a chapter and so it shouldn't be a problem even if they boot people from DSA national won't have any recourse but to make changes that allow our reforms if the org forces them to, too
Yeah some people can be really lazy so with even garbo grids you can do that sometimes. I remember back with like uhhhhh xeno vohu I didn't even have my wind proper yet and I MVP'd occasionally
Probably due to Korwa. But now Korwa is old and busted

I accidentally freaked out my neighbor who came over for a few minutes. I don't usually walk around my house. I like, just jump over the back of my couch, or I'll slide into my kitchen by hopping over the counter that connects to my living room. It's a weird way to get around but it's faster and I like to be active and move around a lot. I wasn't thinking about the fact that someone was over, so I just hopped up on the counter, spun around, and slid into my kitchen like always, and I looked like a total weirdo.
It probably saves me like 20 seconds. If I'm sitting on the couch, that is. If I'm sitting on the couch, I either just jump over the back of the couch instead of standing up and walking around it or I just get up and go through the kitchen like that.
>>557427 Well, they didn't infiltrate and "fuck" with the KKK in reality. They infiltrated and agitated the KKK to use them as a means to keep people down.
Though I guess if you know nothing about the event other than what's shown, the crash, then it's keeping with what I think the theme of the movie is Reality is though, it was only possible for that to happen because the cops, in a fit of 'incompetence' removed the barriers that would have prevented it
the program chair that dislikes me is causing me more problems and so is everyone else
i transferred a client to someone before i left the clinic i was at previously i find out yesterday that the clinician i was transferring to is not in fact taking my client because their supervisor, the program chair, decided they can't for some arbitrary reason.
So now my client has been blowing in the wind since at least July 31st, and nobody communicated with me at all whatsoever until yesterday. I'm technically still his clinician until his first session with a new clinician, and there's nothing I can do for him now because I'm finding out about this all so late. Now I have to play catch-up and fucking snitch so I don't get kicked out of the program for the incompetence of others.
and even if there's a new clinician to replace the one that bailed i can't trust them to help my client because the person i transferred to is the only one that uses a treatment modality that's helpful to my client
and that's the only male clinician, and my client shouldn't hve a female clinician

>>557485 removed abilities but included mega evolutions???? especially for Mega Kangaskhan, a mega evolution that is defined by its insane ability?????????????? For what purpose
Anno
They've probably retooled the mechanics so that something like Mega Kangashkan still works despite that.
It's also good to note that Let's Go isn't the next generation of Pokemon games too, anyway. Those'll be coming later in 2019.
But this does make me less likely as a veteran to enjoy this game Even if their target is 'people who enjoy pokemon go', I don't feel like I'm going to enjoy this, and I'm sure there are other people who share this sentiment.
Anno
I know I'm going to be kind of chiding you here, but maybe you don't need to enjoy every game in the franchise. I'm not really inclined to get Let's Go myself, but there might be features they're experimenting with in it that'll be nice or good litmus tests for the development of the upcoming core series games. Even just something like the aesthetical nature of having Pokemon follow you in a more dynamic fashion than before.
Something that comes to mind is how Pokemon hasn't really hit off on the "care" side of being a trainer. At least for me, the stuff they've had you do in the handhelds up to now has just felt kind of lackluster. Let's Go seems a bit more like it might try to cater to that aspect , and I'd be curious to see if the reception helps them retool it for the core series.
Well at least I can watch from the sidelines and see if anything good comes from it. >>557493 >look forward to something >find out I'm not going to like it anymore

It just strikes me as an "it only game, why you heff to be mad?" kind of situation.

There's plenty of things to look forward too. Dwelling on the disappointments is kind of tiresome.

Anno
Up all night, sleep all day
Marsh-chan
do you have other commitments in your life that make that problematic?

I've got so much anime and stuff to catch up on that I should probably just focus on clearing some backlog here and there but I do best when things just spontaneously catch my eye
why watch a seasonal anime that could turn out to be garbage when I can just pick something from the backlog that I know is gonna be good Other than the communal aspect involved with seasonal shows
Well sometimes part of the fun is watching something older that you have no idea whether it's good or not and being pleasantly surprised. Other times you watch what other people watched ages ago and you get to feel how they felt and they get a sense of nostalgia
>>557585 S98 of the Federal Constitution 1900 specifies that the free trade between the states includes rivers and railways what's the main thing transported by railways? Wool, and other textiles used for dress making.
Now section 51 of the Constitution allows for the federal government to make nationwide laws relating to marriage.
So we have a situation in which states are allowed to import wool to make dresses without any restrictions, but the government still intended to control intimate relationships.
Therefore, you can see a clear separation in the minds of the Framers between dress wearing and marriage. Therefore men can't wear dresses Therefore traps are gay.
