It won't give me the investigation quests to hunt the monster I want to hunt even though you usually get those quests as soon as you kill the monster the first time. So it's making me do an optional quest in order to reliably encounter it, but I can't properly grind because doing that quest means I have to kill two other giant monsters in addition to the one I want to kill. And I have to fight them all at the same time, basically, so it's incredibly difficult and it takes like 40 minutes to clear the quest every time.
Yeah. I need to kill it two more times, probably. But I can't even finish that quest probably 1/3 of the time because it's so difficult. I can kill it and leave the quest, but the mat I need from it is a quest reward for killing it, not a drop.
It's not really as simple as powering up. It's the kind of quest designed for co-op. I'm not supposed to do it alone. The quest is designed in a way that demands you use raw weapons or two elements, and you need two people for two elements.

I think I read the silmarillion the first time while I was sick and home from school for a few days wwhen I was like 10. And then I read it about a third to a half of it in senior year. But I was also reading literally hundreds of research articles for my science research project in highschool and those probably just pushed it out of my brain.

But honestly silmarillion isn't a good book it is just a lorebook essentially chris tolkien wasn't that good a writer when he wrote it and he just basically collected bunch of notes, incomplete texts and stuff from the letters to mash something together, due to high demand the later single books, children of hurin and beren and luthien are much better as he was a better author at that point and had all the time in the world silmarillion is divided to three parts the creation mythos cn't remember the name of how the world was created then comes bit of an introduction to some of the pantheon and then comes the main bit "quenta silmarillion" about the silmarillion which details the full story of how they came to be and what happened to them and the wars waged but in quite "history book" fashion most of the time and the final part is the appendum, containing good aprt of other lore like the numenorians and such and the second age and a short description of the war of the ring similiar book is "book of unfinished tales" I believe its anglish name is, that just has short stories and similiar loredumbs of the tolkienarum

I think the biggest flaw with MHW is that there's not a lot of impetus to use a lot of different armors other than to use skills that serve your weapon better. At the beginning, I had to use a lot of different armors to take advantage to elemental resistances.
Now 80% of the monsters introduced either deal entirely raw damage or are fire element. Out of the last ten monsters introduced, probably 5 or 6 were fire. I think I've seen one ice enemy and one thunder enemy.

I think that's somewhat consistent with the trend in previous MonHun games. By the end of the game you're definitely tinkering with your armor to put together a specific skillset. Usually this is to maximize your preferred weapon's potential, but I've also seen really creative skill builds for doing fun shit. At least in previous games, the variety of armors and the sheer number of skills you had access to gave you a lot of opportunity to try out something unique. Or you just disregard optimizing and just went for fashion, which was fun too.
But I think the somewhat lesser monster count in World might be damaging for that too. In previous games there were a lot of unique monsters that some times just going for the best DPS wasn't going to cut it. Monsters that you'd have to keep in mind their specific features, such as roaring so loudly you can't move for like ten to fifteen seconds.
It'd just be nice to have some monster variety All of the fire enemies are AOE and some are pretty hard to dodge so you pretty much need fire resistant armor all the time but almost all of the armor with fire resistance is - everything else Meanwhile there are only two or three armor sets that have thunder or ice resistance or skills Apparently none of the enemies in the game deal dragon elemental damage? i haven't seen any if there are some

Honestly even if they intend to prolong the content of World by adding in new monsters for the future I'm a little surprised there's only thirty-one large monsters in it on release. By comparison MonHun 4 -- not even the Ultimate release -- had fifty-one. It's a surprising reduction in content for a base release.

The developers were pretty generous with events for the previous games too. Due to the limitations of older consoles/handhelds they couldn't exactly drop a lot of new monsters, but they would regularly add new quests with new combinations of monsters or weird scenarios that would give you stuff to craft new weapons and armor. And a lot of collaborative stuff too.
Yeah, there's already the Horizon Zero Dawn collab well the first half of it And the Street Fighter collab soon
I'll be kind of disappointed if they don't add more monsters and maybe a new area or something
Right now, there's a forest, a desert, Blight Town, and a map made of coral that doesn't make any geological sense and a volcano map The forest map super duper sucks because there's no room to maneuver around and every fight turns into a clusterfuck of three or four Rathalos sized enemies trying to fight in no space
I mean when I was talking about this with Kirara last night or the night before I said more or less the same thing. I pretty much know the -why- of why there's not many monsters in release. But considering the standard of content from previous games I'm surprised they let it happen is all.

Hm, yeah, I'm trying think what I might've said or something someone else might've said to give that impression. I think the handhelds were a little difficult to get in to originally. It was annoying having to control movement and a camera on the PSP, since they had a joystick and a d-pad you could only reach with the same hand. Which is where the infamous "claw" style of playing the games came into play. They were a bit difficult to play because playing them on a handheld was kind of annoying. Getting into them starting with a proper controller might make it a bit easier.
Which reminds me that I still will probably want a controller I can hook up to my computer for when the games eventually show up on PC.

And personally a green Rathalos is a medium fight for me by now. I can systematically take one of those apart in so -in such little time. People just need to git gud at the game and find those particular monsters they know front to back.

It's also a little surprising to me that they don't have more of their staple medium-tier bosses in here, like the Hermitaur, or the Congalala, the Bullfango, and so on.

DSM criteria includes a part where you can be diagnosed with it after being exposed to traumatic imagery or video. Technically, it only counts if you were exposed as part of your employment is which is a weird criteria.

i dont know if there's such terminology, but i think traumatic response would be more accurate than post-traumatic stress it's not post anything i'm sure they were fine later on but it's still mean to make them experience that for a reaction video
