Rene

Maria
>>345758 What do you think Chrom is like at parties
Anno
He isn't.
Yuu
>>345760 Chrom reminds me of a dumb football player so he probably knows his way around a party. He's the kind of guy who can't keep his hands to himself if you end up alone with him too.
Maria
>>345762 Chrom seems like he'd be a football player but he seemed to me like he'd be boring at party >he's the kind of guy who can't keep his hands to himself >"there are better places to sleep than on the ground you know" >"like in my bed"
sk
Girls' last tour has a very particular feel to it It's kinda like, comfy, but depressing
Maria
>>345764 yeah >>345766 Did you ever read that one greentext from the guy who got ntrd by chrom because he didn't level up his Slink fast enough?
Yuu
Chrom married me against my will in my first playthrough. He's kind of got the dumb jock thing going on but he knows how to be forceful.
I don't have any sort of mental image of the area they're in, it seems to be some sort of construction though, all of it But it also seems to be outside, not below roof? So I dunno how they can get to 'the top'
Maria
what's at the bottom?
Yuu
Chrom is kind of dumb, he's crappy as a unit, and the way he keeps getting passed over for appearances in other games/DLC for Robin and Lucina is hilarious. He has very potent loser moe. I love loser moe.
I would have probably married Henry if left to my own devices.
sk
Despair, I would imagine

>>345776 Mountains are entirely outside surfaces and you can still get to "the top" of them.
sk
>>345780 Yeah sure but the top of a mountain isn't really a destination to base your whole... existence around yaknow
They keep talking about going to THE TOP as though there's a reason to go to the top rather than faff about within this area
Maria
>>345778 Oh man that smash trailer was great Chrom just getting the SHIT beaten out of him by Captain Falcon And then in comes the Avatar to show him who's the best around
>>345781 faffing about just depletes that areas resources the upper levels have more resources
Anno
>>345781 Tell that to the guy that scaled Everest for the first recorded time.
Anno
You can kind of see the tiers of the city or whatever in the plane episode.
>>345785 remember they mentioned it in like episode 3 they didn't bother going back because there was nothing there on the lower floor Because it was all used up
sk
I must have missed it
Anno
From a technical standpoint, getting to the top will probably give them the clearest chance of contacting any remaining surviving civilization or groups of people.
sk
What I'm wondering is like Are they trying to leave, if that's even a meaningful concept in this world, or are they just trying to stay alive?
Anno
I don't think they're really trying to leave. It doesn't even seem like they really understand what their purpose is themselves. Chi even talks about it in this week's episode. They wake up, eat, move, look for shelter, sleep, wake up, repeat.
After the big elevator where they almost died, they remark that on the new level the street lights are working. My impression is that they're operating under the assumption that civilization may be more intact the higher they go.
sk
They're dungeon crawling, but in reverse?
Anno
Dungeon ascending
Maria
what if they get to the top and there's nothing
Anno
They'll build a plane and fly off to another decayed giant city.
What if they get to the top and there's a SPESS ELEVATOR waiting for them. The rest of the world just gave up on Earth or whatever the planet is and found their future in the stars.
sk
I think, in a sense, it'd be best for them if they never did get to the top Whatever is up there, it can not be what they hope for
Maria
what if they get to the top and there's a poster saying "it's not the destination that counts, but the journey :)"
sk
>>345805 I'll get mad because I'm already watching Kino
Maria
>>345806 What if Kino shows up in the show How would you react if she showed up and was like "yeah there's a whole world outside the mega structure"
I kind of like how Shoujo Shuumatsu and Kino air on the same day. They both have a similar enough feel that it's a bit of a thematic match. I like stuff likethat.
>>345810 Well yeah, if they were too similar that would be a bit too blanching. The differences is what makes the similarities so thematically comparable.
Maria
>>345810 A lot of Kino countries would be pretty bad places to live in Like that everyone votes one where everyone killed each other
>>345836 No I don't fucking care what the public concept is. Something as base as that is hardly untrodden ground for fiction, especially the science fiction short story genre that Kino no Tabi obviously draws inspiration from.
sk
It's not 'new', but it's still fun to see being explored in media when it's clearly not a commonly held belief
I wish they'd gone further with it though But I guess Kino's whole shtick is each country has one quirk to it that everyone follows dogmatically
Anno
I like how they shake things up by switching from Kino and Hermes to Shizu and his party. They handle things differently but still contain themselves within the concept of being travellers.
sk
Yeah, it's pretty neat

This can be done by fry testing using colours as an indicator of potential high reducing sugar content: indicative fry testing 20-25 centre strips, which are fried to evaluate frying colours of the potato strips against the colour specification using a USDA Munsell colour chart or calibrated company-specific charts for small operators. Alternatively the overall finished frying colour can be measured by specific equipment (e.g. Agtron). >6. | FBOs shall prevent (enzymatic) discolouration and after cooking darkening of potato products. This can be done by applying disodium diphosphate (E450), which also lowers the pH level of the washing water and inhibits the browning reaction. >7. | The use of reducing sugars as a browning agent shall be avoided. They may be used only if needed, to consistently stay within specification limits. FBOs shall control the colour of the final product by performing colour checks on the final cooked product. If needed after blanching, controlled addition of dextrose enables meeting the finished colour specification. Controlled addition of dextrose after blanching results in lower acrylamide levels in the final cooked product at the same colour as observed in unblanched products with only naturally accumulated reducing sugars.

Is it an anime or live action?
Kirara 🦃
It's a Netflix original series. Live action. It's actually really engaging.
sk

Kirara 🦃
I haven't seen The Shield, but judging by the description, no.
Mindhunter is about the FBI in the 70s when the Behavioral Science Unit started talking to serial killers in order to develop profiling techniques that allowed them to catch them more easily in addition to coming up with insights about the minds of these people. In a lot of ways, it's actually very accurate.
Along the way, the two main characters go from town-to-town, teaching city cops FBI techniques and stuff and occasionally helping with cases.

I feel a bit too cold with just my shirt on, so I put on my cardigan. But after a bit of wearing that too, I start to get kind of overheated. It's all kind of distracting.

I have such a hard time focusing with intent, it's really frustrating. Like, the moment I try to zero in on one thing, my brain automatically starts running through all the things I could be doing instead. Even this is a form of that function really. And it's not like I'm incapable of focusing on principle, I can naturally flow into focusing on something and hold that focus for hours and hours on hand. But trying to willfully switch from casual thought to focused attention feels like an impossible task for me most of the time.

gotta make those car loan payments or the penguins will kneecap me
That's definitely a component. After all, if I had the willpower to overcome the impulse to go do these other things my brain come s up with then there wouldn't be an issue. And it's not like I've ever been a particularly disciplined person. Just not having to weather distracting impulses in the first place would be nice too.
