>On May 11, 1934 the most severe dust storm to date spread 350 million tons of silt from the northern Great Plains to the eastern seaboard. This major storm was preceded by a series of lesser dust storms in the West, brought on by drought and farming methods (over-plowing and over-grazing) that failed to address environmental needs. Thousands of families, known as āOkiesā, were forced to migrate to California from Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The dust was felt as far east as New York, causing many to be sick, and this massive storm eventually helped prompt legislation for smarter farming, including crop rotation and grass seeding. yeah
Kiraraš
that's not required reading it's just interestng
ToN
spooky
Kiraraš
who are these friends
ToN
spirit animals
Kiraraš
oh do you want to talk to your spirit animals
Anno
I don't really have anything to talk with them about. Felicity's pretty sketchy on the whole magic thing after all.
that's basically what white people did in curtis' opinion and he wants hunters to cull them lol
ToN
ONLY A HANDFUL OF HUMANS TRULY MATTER
Kiraraš
felicity is pretty impressive, being able to hang on to the side of the plane like that
Anno
I wasn't sure what to call it! There's usually ridges or grab-able edges to things in planes.
ToN
Thumbs up for being canon there Kiririn
Kiraraš
thanks
Anno
Yeah Sicily, that's about what I was thinking too.
ToN
I believe you
Kiraraš
thanks
Anno
Bah.
ToN
nice coupling
Kiraraš
wow i guess felicity and thomas died in the crash
Kiraraš
thats a joke obviously
ToN
Some say that Kinzo was actually dead the whole time.
Kiraraš
poor bathrobe kinzo
Kiraraš
oh you guys don't take any damage even though you're banged up
ToN
nice
Anno
Much obliged.
Kiraraš
it would be bad manners to damage you guys in a story event on your way to the final boss
Anno
I dunno man I would have taken it as fair game. Or maybe less so since we don't have many people playing. If there was like five or so players I would have thought nothing of it.
ToN
>>306940 impyong i wont have you guys take environmental damage on the wat to the final boss
of course if you do well enough you wont
Kiraraš
c a r j a c k i n g
Anno
Aw I thought this was some apocalyptic abandoned highway shit.
ToN
Where's VV to haphazardly threaten the man with her gun(s)
I was expecting you to, but it's good that felicity finally got to use bargain
Anno
Most of the characters we meet along the way haven't exactly been in the kind of mood to bargain. Or to bargain things we would be willing to give up.
Kiraraš
i'm pretty bad at having reasonable NPCs
Anno
Wait Kirara so is this currently early May like >>306858 in there. Because The Gay Divoricee was out in October of that year.
Kiraraš
oh i thought it was earlier oh well yeah it's early may 1934 let's pretend the gay divorcee came out earlier in this timeline because the director was an eldtrich wizard or something
Anno
Doing some blitz research on the time period apparently Chicago gets hit hard by these dustbowl sandstorms. But Felicity hasn't been back to Chicago for a good while.
Anno
I remember back when I was worried about Victoria being the mischievous one looking to make awry perfectly good situations. How times have changed.
ToN
I like this guy's reaction.
Kiraraš
he's the most reasonable NPC in the campaign
Kiraraš
i like how nobody was worried about sicily, hoover, and battler like nobody even tried to look for them
Anno
Battler is enough of a side character to not cross my thoughts most of the time. Hoover is about 80% detached from reality so I can't expect much from him. And Sicily is only there when she wants to be found.
>>307043 My assumption is that Hoover left to go do whatever it was he was planning to do. That's why VV thought we were close to the city. Well, in the city. we were further from it than VV and I would have expected!
ToN
Im going to wait a tiny bit before resorting to doggo
Yeah. But you won't lose stability if you fail the roll and I won't make you spend stability unless you use your power successfully because I'm such a generous DM!
I was planning on asking Chicago what sort of trick there is to breaking mind control if Rika couldn't break it. Though I don't know how closely that ties into lore questions but it kind of makes sense in my head.
Kiraraš
yeah that would have been lorey enough
Anno
At this point I figure Thomas could pull just about anything out of his bag and no one would think twice about it.
I wouldn't call it a long fight, but between that and the monologue, I don't think we can do it in 20 minutes. What's a villain without a big monologue before the good guys stop him?
