Go knight, and saddle my great white horse with which I forught against Turks and Tatars, for now I wish to fight against the three wise men. Huh, my sister's going to Iceland oon vacation in a few months.
I got access to the dementia testing done on my stepfather and I am fucking furious.
They used outdated tests on him and LIED about his behavior during the tests. They said that his symptoms were extremely severe but it's okay because they aren't fucking real.
They said that he's just a hypocondriac.
Even though he, who has accessed satelittes for the military, is in the lowest possible scores for processing speed and working memory. Fucking ridiculous. And the report is written in a way as to purposefully obscure the results from readers that aren't trained in psychological testing. I'm fucking livid.
My stepfather can barely function at this point. He can't even properly take a shower because if he puts shampoo in his hands and gets distracted for a second, he is no longer aware that what's in his hands is shampoo.
>>201547 Probably to hide their laziness. They said that they didn't observe any of the emotional lability that was reported in the interview, but my stepfather had a meltdown and started shouting at the doctor during testing because he was frustrated with the tests. Yet, they plainly wrote in the report, that he did not get frustrated with any tests despite the challenging nature of some of them.
These people should not be practicing.
>>201546 I don't know. I'm going to make sure complaints are filed.
To make matters worse, an intern observed all of that. Which means the intern is being trained to lie and pretend like symptoms of dementia aren't real.
Throughout the report, dementia was clearly indicated by the results of the tests. Yet in the summary for the report, they said that nothing pointed to dementia. Fucking ludicrous.
For them to claim that his symptoms aren't real despite reporting objective evidence of his symptoms is fucking ridiculous.
This was done by what's considered to be one of the best hospitals in Florida.

I'm still irritated cause I'm pretty sure they also canceled their autograph session. My dad was gonna grab a copy of Since I Left You and get it autographed for me. Also they canceled because of a relative of someone in the band got really sick. FormerRei@mobile
But yeah, they should have just performed with out her. I've been to concerts where band members had deaths in the family or something like that, and that person left and the rest of the band still played. That happened when my sister saw Phoenix. Normies really love quotes that sound deep. Most of them are pretty meaningless and supposed inspire you in some way.

I don't know. I don't think it true that "no matter how much you fuck up your body, you can recover from it" *it is
It sounds like lip service to people who fucked up, I am pretty sure you can fuck up and lose a lot of time and live uncomfortably while your body recovers and might not even recover to what it was before.
Reality is less pretty than what these quotes like to poetically describe
Anno
>arrive late >client wants to sleep in anyway >yuishrug.png
>>202232 That's an interesting interpretation, I hadn't considered that it could be taken in a physical sense. I was looking at it in a psychological sense, like, "no matter what trauma you go through, you'll get better with time!"
Anything like that really bothers me because there's such a terrible stigma against mental health in the US and people are often afraid to get help when they need it or get convinced that their psychological issues will just go away if you wait long enough.
You see these sort of quotes all over the place. With celebrities endorsing them or using them as speaking points.
I have a real dislike for making the world look different that it really is. You should really avoid fucking up, if you can't avoid it don't dress up If //
Like the quotes for business are stupid. You'll be successful if you learn to play dice. or other incomprehensable shit.
>>202232 Well, the basic jist of it seems to be do what you want because you'll get better.
But all but the most basic injuries leave lasting impact. Drug use comes with addiction, and people never stop being addicts once they're addicted to something. Many STDs are also incurable.
So that sentiment of live for today because you can heal no matter what happens to you is somewhat misguided.
>>202237 The metaphor is actually pretty accurate, it's just the advice that is bad. You can also do a lot of things that could irreperably damage a forest. Ecosystems are fragile. If you accidentally introduce an invasive species of vine into the forest, it could be dead within a year.
>>202236 Or even the feeling that you've fucked up but it is going to be great, you'll be back to normal. it feels like it trivializes the pain and loss of time that these things have.
>>202240 Being accurate is only half the magic, you also have to be useful. The temple one is inaccurate because it makes it sound like people can't be destroyed or put to shame. The forest one is both inaccurate in what they're trying to convey and not useful for the things you said.
>>202246 Well, being a slave to his ex is where his goals led him. He's pretty much at the endgame.
>>202242 They did a perfect job of establishing the sameness between the body and the forest, though. They are just woefully wrong about how much you can mess them up. The metaphor is useful for understanding the ways in which the author misunderstands the concept of lasting damage.
There isn't much a thing to aspire to here. I can understand being friends with your ex-wife or having still a good relationship but if you are just using her a teaching point for your kids I fail to see how that is a good relationship. >look I am being good to a women that is your mother >this is how normal human being interacts
Anno
A relationship can be anything but that's probably not what they mean
>>202248 You can "learn" a lot about people through their skill at metaphors but it's still bad. The sameness between the body and a forest in that "both things regenerate " isn't significant enough The entire point was to illustrate the ability to always come back. Not only does that not happen to humans (inaccurate), but it also doesn't always happen to forests (not useful). Also missing or I guess overlooked, is the idea that temples can be rebuilt. there's just a hodgepodge of connections that weren't given good enough care. D-
They can be, but most people that meet diagnostic criteria for disorders that you'd get treatment for aside from neurocognitive disorders are probably more like us than a healthy normie.
The criteria needs to be updated so these people can get help. I feel like a lot of people are unhealthily participating in society and big companies and media endorse their terrible viewpoints
>>202264 I think so, but most of those issues are societal issues, not mental health issues.
The problem with those things are that society is unhealthy which causes people to become unhealthy, but if you treat someone and put them back in where they were before with those things, it'll just go back to that. Plus these people function well in society so they're not generally distressed so there's nothing wrong them in the eyes of society at large. They don't want to change, either.
It's wrong to force your ideals on someone and calling it treatment doesn't make it any better.
True that, the goal is to gain more profit, even if it is idiotic and anyone with common sense can go "umm no"

I don't want to lie to her. I've watched anime with my buddies, too.
It's hard to think of it as romantic when you're watching people fight or something, too. There really isn't any romantic anime this season except maybe Ballroom e Youkoso eventually.
Things can be romantic or not depending on who you do them with though. You probably have looked your buddies in the eye, but it's different when you look your girlfriend in the eye!
