1000 baht can do a lot of things in this country
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
A lot of countries really love USD, right?
If 1000 baht is 30 USD, do you think you could give them a 20 USD note and they'd be cool with that? I've never traveled abroad so I don't know people's attitudes towards that stuff.
Maven
Not in Thailand so much because their money is pretty strong
But in Cambodia usd is pretty much their de facto currency
Maven
Man... I deliberately chose today to get a fish massage because I'd been hiking in sweaty boots for hours The plan was to get some BANG FOR MY BUCK Really make these fish work for it
But then they made me wash my feet before i put them in anyway. What a gyp

They're still going at it pretty hard though
There's a couple of of small Chinese girls next to me and the fish are barely touching them.

The ideal would be getting her fired and blacklisted or something

FormerRei@mobile
>>178123 Fun fact, people with jobs like hers don't usually make a lot of money. If you have problems with her being disrespectful then send anonymous complaints about it to the people who pay her. They might get her to change that, or at least act respectful. If you don't try anything then nothing is going to change (unless someone else does it).
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
if she's not happy with her pay, then she should know that the people under her aren't happy with their pay both are being taken advantage of she should ally with the people below her because they're in the same boat and being taken advantage of
although she isn't technically in the same boat since SK is the one whose labor is being used and she just watches she should still ally with the workers
『sk』
Whatever she's making, we make less than half
『sk』
Her "labor" amounts to going to MEETINGS and making sure we're there being exploited If she was unhappy with her position she can fucking do something else, we're there because we don't HAVE that option Literally ONE person I work with on my same level hierarchially is there by choice ONE There are FIFTY of us
FormerRei@mobile
>>178125 >>178126 >>178127 What I meant by "she probably doesn't make a lot" was that "people in jobs like that don't choose that career path for the money, they choose it because they want to help people"
『sk』
Not to mention she's also up our ass about not producing as much as last year MotherFUCKER you should be happy we're making a single fucking one of these units per hour each, because THAT ALONE covers our pay twice over
『sk』
>>178128 If she wanted to help people she wouldn't act like a condescending cunt
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
Yeah She'd at least support the workers if she was the kind of person that wanted to help people She probably couldn't find another job
It's not a job where you can really help people unless you perform a bunch of mental gymnastics anyway
『sk』
She wouldn't consider it 'petty' to complain, when you live WEEK TO WEEKl, about your money N E V E R showing up on time
『sk』
And she wouldn't move the smoking area to the other side of the building that takes a fucking minute to walk across and then bitch people spend more than the 5 allotted minutes smoking
FormerRei@mobile
>>178133 Complain about that to her then. Or add that to tge list of complaints you send to her boss.
And there's been more mistakes this year than last year too, which confuses her to no end
I mean we've told her it's because since new years they've added about 500 fucking tiny things to the neverending list of things that qualify something as a mistake, and that's why it's shot the fuck up because they DIDN'T BOTHER TO TELL US ABOUT THIS TO BEGIN WITH But fuck
FormerRei@mobile
I completely understand why you have a problem with all

『sk』
Yasee the thing is none of us have any bargaining power here We've brought all of this shit up with her, multiple times, as a group

『sk』
Have we at the very least what? If the question involves her at all, the answer is probably yes
>>178153 Okay then, so you have asked her about what problems she has to deal with and whether or not you could do anything to help. Glad to know. So tell me how it went.
『sk』
Oh don't you worry about that She lets us know
『sk』
She has to go to MEETINGS all the time, she even sometimes stays a whole hour late to file papers on her computer! She even at times has to talk to the people at the company we're sorta kinda a part of to arrange place for people to go there, and she does that with other companies too She's a very busy woman with many issues related to the fact that she has to do the same shit my fucking dad did at work without acting like everyone else is a fucking faggot
>>178158 I can't listen right now, but Goldfrapp is really good.

I don't think they are a band that I could get into but I like the singles at least.
『sk』
>>178161 Who fucking knows NOBODY has any fucking idea what she actually meets about, we just know it's a super big deal apparently and very much makes her job worse than ours and she's clearly underpaid at minimum double what we have and we should feel sorry for her We're very spoiled, getting 5 minutes per hour of break time at $5.33/h
FormerRei@mobile
>>178163 So you can't imagine anything she could be doing at those meetings that might be important or stressful or even both?
『sk』
That last line is her words, not mine
『sk』
We're SPOILED
『sk』
I can't imagine a single thing she could be doing at those meetings, because she's at meetings nearly 70% of the fucking week and none of us see any effects of it
FormerRei@mobile
>>178167 What do you think would happen if she didn't go to these meetings?
『sk』
I have no idea The place would continue running along just as before, and maybe there wouldn't be courses once every three months for shit That's the only actual effect I could see them having, and the thing is I don't agree that you could spend 70% of those three months in meetings and somehow also be using that time efficiently
『sk』
Like getting a fucking course set up shouldn't take you more than one week in meetings There's no fucking way How do you spend MORE than 40 hours in meetings to arrange a single 2 day course? How do you spend more time in meetings arranging the course than the course takes? How do you fucking ACCOMPLISH that
『sk』
Because that's the only effect we actually see
We have no fucking benefit from working at a higher efficiency by the way Our reward isn't EVEN a 'thanks' from anyone, her included Legit not even a 'good job' We're just fucking expected to work harder than last year for so little money all of us either live with our parents or with a significant other who has a real job For the fucking sake of it
『sk』
One guy moved out of his parents' house and he literally lives paycheck to paycheck and can't afford an internet connection We're not making enough to get excited by the fucking prospect of making some FAGGOT stockholder another $5000 a month
Anno
You really need a new job.
『sk』
I need to get back into school so I can get somewhere in life and do something about this horrid fucking situation
This isn't fucking OK
『sk』
My main immediate anger comes half from the fact that because some asswipe was watching a movie, I don't get to listen to podcasts anymore On one hand, I understand him because working at this place is utter bullshit On the other hand, he's screwed me over
『sk』
anyway I'm done being mad now cause it's gonna get nothing done for me until I actually snap, at which point it'll get a LOT done, though not for me
No, don't worry about it I needed to get my anger out in a way that doesn't damage anything
FormerRei@mobile
Fuck, I'm going to be 1.5 hours late. There's no hourly train on the train line I use between 9 and 10.
『sk』
>>178179 Oh shit dude Did you oversleep or something?
FormerRei@mobile
>>178180 No, I got back in bed after taking my pills but before taking a shower. Also I could not get a ride to the train. Also I knew I would be late if I got back in bed but I did it anyways. If not for the weird train schedule I'd only be 30 minutes late.
『sk』
>>178181 I know that feeling Sometimes you just really want another half hour in bed, so you just go back to bed
FormerRei@mobile
>>178182 I generally wait a little bit after I take my meds before taking a shower because I take longer showers when my meds aren't working because of OCD. Although I recognize that phenomenon might be psychosomatic. Err, the phenomena if taking shorter showers when my *after I take my meds. I dont actually know how long it takes them to work.
『sk』
Oh right you have that to deal with too
FormerRei@mobile
Also, know that I take the bus, my *now my weekly commute costs $106 or so. This is with the first tier of bulk discount.
『sk』
Jesus That's expensive transportation, dude How long is that bus ride?
FormerRei@mobile
>>178186 The bus is $2 Oh wait, sorry its like $116 Cause $2 on the way there and then $2 on the way back. >>178186 The train ride is the expensive part. Although I'd be able to do it much cheaper if I did it daily for a month throufh the higher bulk discount tier.
FormerRei@mobile
It's a very nice train though. Much better than the ones that people use to get aeound in the city.
FormerRei@mobile
Also I'm going to be immensely irritated if the person doing the training waits until after my train leaves to tell me not to come in today.
FormerRei@mobile
Cause they said they were okay with me being an hour late, but they havent replied to the update I sent about being 1.5 hours late.
『sk』
Does your OCD ever make you take your meds more than once?
FormerRei@mobile
>>178191 No I think I have no reason to believe so.
FormerRei@mobile
Also Ritalin almost certainly makes your ocd worse.
『sk』
I was thinking maybe you'd go "wait, DID I take them yet?" Oh I thought the meds were FOR the OCD It's Ritalin?
Yeah no way in hell can you wait more than 10 minutes and go "Did I take these yet?" You know
Anno
How depressing
FormerRei@mobile
>>178194 I do that some times Some of my meds are for OCD ERR I meam i do the "did I take my meds?" Thing >>178198 It's not that I dont remember taking my meds its more of "can I trust that memory of taking my meds to be accurate"
Anno
>>178194 I do that with stims Forget if ive taken them

No way can your head be doing math as a passtime ability and also go "I dunno man, I could have forgotten" At least I can't imagine doing that ever
Anno
>>178198 I'm moon You know what goes on in my head? I sure don't
FormerRei@mobile
I'm probably more likely to think I took my meds when I didn't than to take them twice. Well it would More of "I'm not 100% sure I took them, but it would be bad to take them twice so I won't take them just in case" Although taking my meds twice could have been what caused my seizure, but there's really no way of ever knowing if that was the case anymore.
Anno
sometimes i'll set my pill out and then get a glass of water to make it easier on my stomach and i'll just drink the water and then go to work and four hours later i'll realize i didn't take it and then it's too late or i'll fuck up my sleep
FormerRei@mobile
My routine is "get up, go downstairs, eat breakfast and drink a glass or two of water, refill cup, go upstairs, take pills out of bottles and put them in one pill cap then take them. Sometimes I use a pillbox. Pillboxes are a very good method of making sure yoi don't take your meds twice, but i dont always feel like making them. Especially since I take 8 pils a day.
FormerRei@mobile
Also cook county is starting a fucking bullshit gay ass drink tax come July first. I swear they'd better put most of that money into CPS, otherwise there's no good reason for it. We already have 9% sales tax. The fucking drink tax is a penny per fluid ounce, which doesn't sound like very much but it makes a 2L bottle of coke go from $1.10~ (with sales tax) to $1.77~
FormerRei@mobile
Holy shit, it even applies to mixed drinks in bars. Well, it's not all drinks, but covers anything with added sugar or artificial sweeteners.
FormerRei@mobile
I'm wearing an N64 tshirt I got on Sunday. Probably the best tshirt I've acquired so far this year.
Anno
tee shirt is how i spell it I dunno what's proper

Nokia at the time was like 10% of finnish gdp if not more and employed like 20k people

『sk』
>>178323 I think most people didn't get it >>178324 This is why line 2 is in that post
FormerRei@mobile
>>178325 I know what you mean, anyways it depends on where they got the image, for example if you sent someone a picture of yourself on Discord, they could put it on a tshirt and you
They took it from a movie you were in, as an example
『sk』
>>178326 Let's say you weren't even the one to take the picture For the sake of argument, you didn't even know it was being taken, but learned about it between then and the t shirt, but you didn't take any action towards it until the t-shirt
>>178333 In that case you had no reasonable expectation of privacy. You might be able to get royalties from it, not sure about stopping them from continuing the shirt thoygh. It also depends on other stuff.
『sk』
I know that, but does no reasonable expectation of privacy mean you're up for commercial use? That seems a bit odd to me

hey imats how did you get that display of when you get the most impressions on twitter? I can only find my 24 hour recap
Kannagi@Ganbaranai
What tool are you using to gather your data? Tweet deck?
『sk』
>By the broadest definition, the right of publicity is the right of every individual to control any commercial use of his or her name, image, likeness, or some other identifying aspect of identity, limited (under U.S. law) by the First Amendment. The right of publicity can be referred to as publicity rights or even personality rights. The term "right of publicity" was coined by Judge Jerome Frank in 1953.[32] So essentially, you have legal control of your image, but it can be superceeded if the purpose of the reproduction of it is informative rather than commercial Am I summing that up somewhat decently?
Like you can write a book about, or an article about someone if there's at least some decent reason to But you can't just slap someone's funny face on a product without their permission
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
>>178339 i compiled the data from several 24 hour recaps
FormerRei@mobile
>>178341 You can if it becomes like culturally significant or sometjing maybe. #IANAL
『sk』
>>178340 None I don't have a tool, I just have twitter I guess tweet deck yeah if that counts as a tool for that
『sk』
>>178343 You lose the right to your own image if you're just well known enough? Isn't that a negation of everyone's right, provided a large enough entity decides to use the image?
The mere production of a service or product by Google that uses your face as a logo will MAKE your face a bit of a cultural icon >>178346 Even if they didn't, you can only stop that one product or company then Someone then going ahead and using your face for a coffee mug can "make a statement about the event" by reproducing your face Since it is now a culturally significant image
FormerRei@mobile
>>178345 yeah a bit Hrrrm, no because they didnt have your permission to make it famous so you would get royalties and also damages Yes, but you would still get damages and some royalties from the first company Also it might be that just that image of you can be used, and not others, since the image is more iconic than you as an individual

>>178350 I said you'd also likely be able to get damages from them
『sk』
But that doesn't address the problem The problem is not that you're not getting money, the problem is that your face is being used by some corporation to sell shit Shit you might not even necessarily agree should exist to begin with
Maybe you're politically opposed to flags, but they're making flags WITH your face on it
FormerRei@mobile
>>178353 The answer is because our IP laws and civil liberties arent always great
>>178353 You could get them for misrepresentation of character, or whatever
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
they would discontinue its use if you told them to and you had a good court case
『sk』
>>178355 Yeah but that's my question Is such a court case realistic under current US law
FormerRei@mobile
>>178355 We're talking about the case where that Nvm >>178356 Yeah, I'll go find an example in a bit.
if you have enough money to afford to make that case
『sk』
I think this should go for Pepe too, for that matter The guy who made Pepe, provided he hasn't formally given anyone else the permission to, should be able to see someone making a Pepe shirt and tell them to fuck right off with that shit It's his IP, he shouldn't lose control of it merely because it got popular enough That's ridiculous
Anno
>>178353 you'd have to write some cease and de-cysts before you would really be awarded any royalties, and i assume that they wouldn't start kicking in until after // earnings from after the time of your C&D but if you had trademarked it or published it under a trademarked medium, i think that is some backup. but if you didn't do that you kind of have to cut your losses and start the C&Ds to start earning from their profits, providing you even work out an agreement and / or they don't C&D and continue earning profits if they actually did C&D then you wouldn't have any royalties this might potentially be different by scale, like if you had a specific branding and then something like GM swiped it off you and used it
Okay so that one's a bit different, more complicated, and I also don't know Our legal system being P2W also makes it
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
>>178360 the images of pepe used on shirts would be safe under the parody argument because the matt furie image would never be used if his image was used, he could sue
『sk』
>>178365 Alright, that's a fair point but here's my counter problem then: There are no legal knockoff spider man t shirts, that I'm aware of
『sk』
And Spider Man is plenty more popular than Pepe will ever be, in addition to there being ridiculous amounts of parody works of Spider Man
FormerRei@mobile
>>178366 There are plenty illegal ones everyehere though.

Even if I want to do that, that wouldn't make any sense. Piano and Songstress are coming with their families. I am NOT taking any chances with either of their families. Piano's parents are cool but I know her dad can be an intense person. Also, I am PRETTY sure that Songstress's parents are somewhere on the racist scale. It is just not something to breach.

FormerRei@mobile

>>178774 Oh, I thought your church was culturally a black one too.
Granted I'm not the best person to make conclusions on this shit never having dealt with any sort of organized religion.
Koi-
>>178780 lol, it's NOT a black church thing. There are a lot of churches in our organization. A lot of them are super white In fact, there's an ongoing suspicion that the reason we don't hit coastal cities is because a good amount of them are in the midwest and they need to get their vote out. Most of our black churches are on the coasts.
And they generally can't afford to send large amounts of their pop to the con. Not all of them anyway, my church goes pretty hard. Like around 50% of us end up going. >voter suppression >>178786 There are lots of nuances that drive politics. This is just one of them.
I witnessed a filibuster attempt at our last conference. These guys are pretty ridiculous. The business meetings were the first tastes of political combat I've ever witnessed.
AnnoAnno
Is that a strong driving force in the church politics you've talked about in the past, you think? Before with my assumption that it was a black church organization, I just figured there were other nuances driving the politics.
Like, I told you guys about how the only reason we had a black Canadian on our board is because the ENTIRETY of their church congregation and perhaps another Canadian church showed up to vote him onto it. These guys are intense like that.
FormerRei@mobile
Shit, my ddad's gonna wwake me up at 6:15. I'm gonna neex to hed of too sleep soonish.

anyway, I'm going to finish cleaning the kitchen. It seems that the hardest thing about this whole trip is telling my mom that I'm going in the first place lol

No, no, you got it wrong. I really am just passionate about seeing Piano again. The religious business drama is a BIG PLUS. But I wouldn't go all the way their //there just for that,. What I don't get is why the left is so fucking weak in the US when all you have to do is use emotion to convince people and the left has emotional rhetoric ON. LOCK.
Koi-
>>178827 You don't get it? hahaha. The Left has too many opinions of emotion, comrade. Yes, they can rile up a good rhetoric but there are so many positions. There are so many people who fall between the cracks because being better than the Right morally isn't hard to do. So those who are left in the holes either have to cut their losses and just roll with them in hopes that the "incremental changes" will reach them or they can just figure "fuck this shit, no one cares about us" and not bother.
Left wing politics IS the emotional side of politics The right wing is fucking cold and cynical, how is the US left so consistently FUCKING IT UP
『sk』
Like the left can just go "people deserve the right to healthcare because that way they don't fucking DIE IN THE STREETS, and the right's only retort is legitimately "well some people SHOULD just fucking die if they don't produce enough" Like that's all they got, how are you losing to THIS
FormerRei@mobile
>The right wing is fucking cold and cynical Like I don't even know if I have a good enough costanza for tthat quote Also >>178832 There are literally people who ssay that. Like that georgian congresswoman who got elected even though she said she didn't support a living wage
Koi-
You also fail to recognize that the Right is just as emotional. Just... in a very different vector.
『sk』
>>178833 I KNOW! That's what I'm fucking saying HOW CAN YOU LOSE TO THAT
Koi-
Because >voter suppression >gerrymandering >not connecting to the most vulnerable parts of the base there are technical reasons they lose as well as rhetorical ones. And they fail to work on both. >>178837 That's covered in the third bullet. Well, partially Rather that covers a lot of what's in the "US Left" problems including not connecting to vulnerable people
FormerRei@mobile
>>178835 People are retarded That's why, >>178836 Don't forget thousands of people not voting because they didnt like eitger candidate
『sk』
The US needs a left party Like One That's all you need
You've got two right wing parties, one of which pretends to be a left wing party
FormerRei@mobile
>>178836 >not connecting to the .... Yeah no, voting in US presidential elections has almost always been "pick the least bad candidate" people who votedfor Obama in their first election got spoiled and are being srupid when they refuse to vote Like really, also that rreminds me >If you don't vote, you can't complain That actually applies to these people more tthan just about any other group except ffor like crazy people
Anno
oh no
Koi-
>>178839 Yes but you see, you neglect the fact that there is a third option of "Just don't vote" which the "more vulnerable part of the base" would generally congregate to because "It doesn't fucking matter who I vote for, I'm not getting [justice-reform/police-reform/affordable-healthcare/etc]
『sk』
Though I guess the Justice Democrats are sort of kind of doing this Maybe despite the Democrats' pushback, they'll move the fuckers a little left
>>178845 don't just go out typing these things the internet is dangerous >>178830 you mean the one filled with Koishi retweets? Because that's all I do on the other one.

FormerRei@mobile
>>178841 Yeah I gguess, if you disregard the argument of "well I might not get better X, Y and Z with either candidate, but I sure will get worse T, U and V with one of them, I guess I'll vote for the other one" It's generally not about maximizing benefits, its minimizing things tthat fuck you over Hence "vote for tthe lesser evil"
Kirara☆
its just a matter of degree of how many people a politician will kill
『sk』
Maybe the US really does need to push shit so far into the blue there's a violent backlash from the people and red starts actually getting their fucking shit together
Koi-
>>178839 You think this, but many of these guys are either reveling in what's come about or actually see everything as the same but with someone too incompetent to clean it up and make it look acceptable. They can still very well complain. Just not in the way you expect them to complain. It's a lot of eye opening stuff.
Anno
>>178847 I was under the understanding you some times produced content on it. At this point, why have it when you already do that with the other one.
FormerRei@mobile
>>178852 I don't mean tthat they lliterally can't complain. I mean ttgat they're being whiney and sself entitled if they have a chance to prevent things they would complain about ffrom happening, and then don't use it
>>178854 When you whittle down the expectations of the people by so much, that they don't even have the desire to gamble on you, then it is probably you who have fucked up rather than them. If the only thing that would get helped or prevented are people who aren't them, then why bother?
『sk』
I gave you the choice between losing an arm and a leg, and you didn't even choose one, why are you complaining about losing the arm, dude?
FormerRei@mobile
>>178857 Nah, it'll get ppicked if you don't. Just by someone else.
Kirara☆
you always have the right to complain
because you're forced into a system that hates you and you have no power in that system
『sk』
>>178858 Yeah I know So why would you complain about losing the arm when you didn't even choose one of the two? YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS by just choosing to lose your leg instead!
FormerRei@mobile
>>178860 Yes, which makes yoyou an idiot. Losing an arm is in general much worse than losing a leg.
『sk』
YOU STILL WOULD HAVE HAD A LIMB SEVERED MOTHERFUCKER
When you're only given two bullshit choices, you're right not to engage with that bullshit choice to begin with Until the democrats actually move to the fucking left, people are entirely right not to give them a fucking vote
FormerRei@mobile
>>178862 Yeah, but you could have minimized the ddamage by making a cchoice. Also this is a poor analogy.
Koi-
Minimized for who though? That's the question that needs answering. Those most vulnerable have already been vulnerable. They weren't made that way. Just recently, I mean.
Kirara☆
if you willingly choose to lose a leg or an arm, you're a fool
『sk』
>>178863 How is it a poor analogy when the US literally had the choice between continuing Obamacare or get the wildcard that is Trump's ? ? ? policy It's the most accurate analogy I've ever made on this website
FormerRei@mobile
>>178866 Because Trump doesn't go around chopping of people's arms (yet). Also it's not yiur most accurate analogy.
『sk』
No, he's just fixing to pass a bill that will lead to more death than the system already does Like that's his intent And Clinton's intent was to keep OBAMACARE around, which already was losing people their fucking coverage
Neither of these are acceptable options They're BOTH shit, and just because they're unequal amounts of shit isn't a good enough reason to pick either of them.
Koi-
We shouldn't give Trump any credit for whatever health bill comes out because all he's going to do is sign it. He doesn't know shit about legislation. It's all the legislative branch. Trump's credit is just him not vetoing dumb shit into oblivion.
>>178868 Obama care wasn't great, but for many people it was better than nothing.
Kirara☆
trump deserves credit he created the environment in which this could happen and choose not to stop it
『sk』
>>178869 I'll give him credit in so far as "Clinton probably wouldn't have signed this"
Koi-
While true, if Clinton were president, they wouldn't be writing it. Because they KNOW she'd veto and they'd have to work for 66 votes instead of just 50. >>178872 Any Republican runner would have done the same thing. Just look at how many of them would go down and sign it. I put this on the Red Team in full.
『sk』

Kirara☆
i blame dems too since they don't care if people die
Koi-
>>178876 Yes but that's not something you can really get angry at people who don't have insurance about. They already don't have shit.
>>178880 I'm not angry at tthem, plus there were shit tons of people who were helped by the ACA who voted for trump anyways. So I can't put all the blame on people who were hurt by it.

『sk』
I don't think so Every regular-ass republican candidate would be far too willing to bow down and not use the various things Trump did Cruz wouldn't have the immense support from the more autistic propagandists around the internet that Trump did, he couldn't have even pointed to Clinton taking money from anyone because he does so himself
FormerRei@mobile

Cruz, in a "fair" environment, is also a tactical discussion snake of a genius. Like given an opponent that actually gave him a chance to play his cards he's pretty decent in a debate. He just didn't have that.
FormerRei@mobile
