Tbh Venetian plays had the Harlequin (Arlechinno) which is not the same thing but he was usually the fool and silly character who was bullied by everyone but usually saved the conflict in the end. I wonder if that was also a dramatic archetype or actually existed.
月
i mean not everything jesters did were jumping around like an idiot and being laughed at that's maybe one of the things that gets remembered because it was more animated, but they were entertainers in general. they'd entertain the monarch or the guests to the court or whomever, usually with stories and such it's not always even foolish stories, but they're just people that had that manner about them that they animate everything very well a lot of times they were just hanging around and would interject sharp-tongued comments in normal colloquy and not be so reprimanded for it because they're allowed to do things in jest everyone else had to be serious all the time and weren't allowed to do anything in jest, even if they wanted to it's just kind of the division that happens out of necessity and it's not like they were all the same either considering every court was different and had different personalities
月
and yeah, i imagine opinions would be solicited from a jester, but only when it's something so hashed out and and a standstill that it's just for mental relief from actually dealing with the problem like if it's not meeting a resolution, give it a break and let your mind go somewhere else since it can't be helped in the mean time pull some humor out of it and draw from the abstraction later on. i think that's a pretty natural thing people do when they're faced with difficult decisions
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
Also since people might think the jester just a fol he might be able to eavesdrop on many conversations.

Not that I condone de-clawing cats, but cats do not reliably learn consequences of their actions--especially for ones that are absolutely instinctual to their behavioural patterns.

>>139264 You've had, what, three? Four? Do you really think that is a reliable sample size for the entire collective of domesticated cats?

Anno
I mean that's heavily shaped by your world view and I don't think trying to argue otherwise is going to change anything.
sk
You're probably right about that I don't buy the "cats are assholes" meme
Anno
They're totally not. Cats have personalities and interests that are complex and difficult to understand because they are a completely different kind of animal from the ones we're designed to empathize with--other humans. People just get tired of actually trying to put effort into understanding them and just slap a "well it's a cat, what else is new" label on it.

Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
>>139475 not sure how much it can bend, but there's no way it could bend enough to break in a neck without snapping the neck too haha
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>139477 yeah especially on an older person who has brittle bones for that matter.
月
>>139477 i mean you said disc didn't you was it a rod or a disc
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
>>139479 it's one of the things they put around the areas with the bad discs it's not just a titanium disc replacement it covers a portion of the spine and has disc stuff too
月
>>139480 yeah me and rin watched a video of that operation being done it was pretty cool if it broke it probably wasn't from shear or anything like that
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
my onlt guess would be some kind of fault in the manufacturing process. cooled too quikc or something, that would make the resulting product brittle and thus while still being hard, it wouldn't bend that much.
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
>>139481 yeah, there's no way it could not without breaking the spine at least it's insane

TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>139485 jjust went and read some on titanium and its elasticity is basically twice that of steel so it isn't even that "snappable" it would basically usually bend before snapping
sk
Ey TN how true is this statement? "The catholic church never killed people for being gay"
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU

TN !PcAPtAiNJo

sk
So they just called being a faggot something else
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
to be fair, being gay is obviously devil possession
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
>>139497 Basically. You could "rid yourself of the gay" or "redeem" yourself if you were important but some random dude most likely tossed to the pyres
But aside from the witch hunts and the inqusition, there really weren't any gay hunts
sk

TN !PcAPtAiNJo

yeah how'd you know if you aren't yourself a witch It's like saying you can tell someone's a gay It's cause of gaydar, and means you're also a gay!
TN !PcAPtAiNJo

But wheni t comes to christianity #1 is Jesus as a source #2 is the letters and deeds of apostles and #3 is the old stuff and #4 is what the preachers preach And Big J didn't say anything about killing anyone

In defense of crusades, islam had invaded christian world and still was for 500 years and the pope and preachers painted it as "they are killing christians left and right in the holy land" So yeah, easy to see why people went with it as for the leaders "Hey, we might make a profit out of this" which they did

In defense of the crusades it was two religions of about the same level of savagery going at it

But it is yet another thing that's just happening now
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
almost monthly

terrorism here meaning, you know, things with actual fatalities
If the subject was just regular-ass terrorism by the dictionary definition, the US would have a much bigger enemy in that area than islam Europe, too, for that matter, but I think Islam still has the upper hand
It's not a real problem, it's mostly just a fucked up thing that could be prevented but isn't
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
and we are ment to just ignore it always go "how tragic" and carry on like nothing happened like it is rain or a storm something that occurs naturally and can't be prevented and speaking that it can is blasphemy man can't control storms it is witchcraft

Indifference. Poor communication between the provider and the person putting it up. Overall lesser understanding of English. I can think of a few reasons.
it was a good movie, btw not really horror but good scifi and man did the android actor once again give a good performance
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
it looks like alien 3 style
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
it isn't it is hmm mix alien with prometheus that is pretty much covenant
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
Also they had gone back to more the hard retro scifi style in terms of ship design and such instead of the sleek and smooth in prometheus that was nice also it did give quite good story on "how xenomorphs came to be" and had some legit good philosophy behind it vs the quite obvious in prometheus
TN !PcAPtAiNJo
the crew of the ship just didn't get that much screen time so you barely cared about them. that was a bit of a fault like event he marines in aliens who die immediately all got some sort of "oh noo they died" but these guys didn't really that much
so it kinda failed in the horror section, as it just did the "typical shit that happens in alien movies"
I'd give it 3/5 with some bias behind because I am fan of the series

It's supposed to rain a little later too.
You cut your foot really badly? Is it okay?
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
It's supposed to rain all night here.
Yeah. I knocked my razor down in the shower without realizing it and stepped on it. I got a really deep cut and long cut, like three or four inches long maybe. I don't even know how I cut it that badly, it's not really that kind of razor that should be easy to cut like that with.
Yuu
Oh, that was very clumsy of you! Razor cuts tend to be painful but rarely go beyond the point of flesh wounds. Bandage it really well when you are out and about and try to let it rest when you are home and it should heal up fairly quickly.
Kirara☆ !Sh0sAiDORU
It was really bad, I thought I might need stitches or something. I think it'll be okay, though. I'm not usually clumsy.

risk an infection or badly healed tissue, thus a permanent problem that would hinder running forever or skip it for few days

there's probably a lot more but i'm not really thinking about them

what a bizarre issue to have with a mouse the material that pushes down on the switch to right click is apparently too soft of a plastic so it gradually gets indented around the tiny switch until the base of it no longer depresses the switch i took a grindstone to it and shaved a couple thin layers off the plastic and now the base is where the indentation was and it works but i dont think i can do that again or else there won't be any plastic left
