This god damn whore case manager took my positive remarks about a client, removed the context in order to reframe it as a negative, and presented it to a court as if it was my opinion of the client in order to prevent the client from getting her children back even though they were falsely taken from her in the first place. i'm going to get her fired she's been trying to keep this client's family from being reunited for like two or three years now i will not be weaponized against the people i am serving
but this is probably going to escalate to the point that i have to testify in court and i really really do not want to do that if they don't fire this woman i might quit because i'm not about to do work for an org that's willing to treat clients this way

I knew that in the past she had been working against the interests of the client but she convinced me that she was on board with it now. Knowing her history I should have been more careful in my wording so she couldn't misrepresent it.

I don't really see them as scummy, not so as long as there's no good space solution to things like rocks and stones Like, when you excavate a tile and get a unit of stone from it, I don't think any of us are under the assumption that it's a unit of the same volume as the tile you just mined But the resource takes up the whole tile anyway, meaning from a pseudo-realistic situation, you're just leaving like a lump of rock in a space that could probably hold at least three or four of that lump
I mean that much is true But also I mean, the quantum stockpiles do contain like, what, up to 9999? It is real nice for the purposes of things being nice and tidy around the fort though
Also in terms of game mechanics, that boulder is actually 4 times as large as the wall you mined it from each one makes 4 blocks, and one block makes a wall of that same size

I wonder if Toady will ever take a look at all these goofy numbers and sort them out But I think he'd have to heavily reconsider storage, especially for rock/stone/ore It's probably just easier to accept the illogical numbers and keep the game direction as is
Having something like a system that lets you stack stone and ore in a stock pile in a pyramid shape, up to 3 high could be a neat way to do it So if you have 1 stockpile tile, you store one with 9, you store 10 cause one goes on top of the middle one, and with another ring around that, you get 3 in the middle and 2 on the ring outside it
It's a stupid way to do it, but it could be kinda cool
Alternatively, have stuff like temperature check differently so instead of every item always checking, do it in reverse, so a temperature change just checks "are there items affected by this temperature in the area?" instead cause like My boulders are not going to be affected by temperatures that can be considered hospitable, at all They only need to update their temperature stuff once the temperature starts approaching melting point, and even that I'm not sure if is temperature or just touch-based cause only magma goes that high anyway hell, do they even melt?

And for placing furniture and such, you can't really easily use macros the cursor resets when you place something, so your macro won't really work for somewhat disimmilar layouts or even for a slightly off camera position

Today I made the discovery that fresh ground coffee beans are significantly better than preground coffee. Never buying grounds again. Also, my roommate has a neat hand-crank coffee mill that grinds the beans, it's solid steel and heavy, I guess his mom got it from an estate sale many years ago. I still ordered an electric grinder though because it's more of a novelty due to the weight and you have to mount it to the table, takes a bit longer, etc.
