an upgradable laptop is a cool idea and something I'd consider getting for sure, but also like
you're locked in with this single company's components until\unless it takes off enough for third parties to see profit in making their own, and uh... I don't think "a laptop you can modify" is something enough people even care about for that to happen
The old thinkpads, while still massively popular with everyone who's used one, are absurdly niche, and they're moddable
