>>1143169 not an expert but, if one slot support 4gb, other could too. what is max ram cap at your board? some times it is possible to install higher further also check what max supported freq, if it's 800, you could ether buy or overclock other chips maybe check if it's possible to set dual channel, it could be faster afaik dual channel is possible if you install 2 chips with same amount & clock freq, so they work in sync & dublicate it other, it can reduce total ram amount in half, but it means pc board could write in one chip while reading from second at the same time. benchmarks required. chat is rizz real it does look like hardware from 2010, you could gradually upgrade maybe starting with the board if needed or if you don't want an upgrade for obvious reasions of uefi & other bs, you could just stock spare parts in need of recovery 10gb is low by modern demands of "gaming", but you could totally use non-windows 64bit os (to support 5gb+ of ram, or even 32bit os with extension) with some 32bit software on it, and you'll be fine, compiling manually optimizing flags, minimalistic software 32 works faster than 64 and requires less space in memory

here are many features that can be a key factor of a build and more over can be points of interest, over all some older systems are full upgradable and can do what's needed, like you can use differnt brand or mem stick's together (not always) and difernet gb sizes in maximizing proformance, it's been done and will work or not work at a plug and play level. Either it does or doesn't. Dream build though, would have to have cpu and gpu cooling, but not default componets. Like proper cooling blocks and seperate cooling resi's for both.
It depends on what it's being built for, and it's proformance or gamming then it doesn't have to by all new parts, but perferably for sure if you have the bank. Memory like we were talking about can be enhanced in diferent way so. There are other things that can mod a rig too cpu parking and messing with cores, but overclocking when cooled up is obvi the way....

my CPU fan is one of those HUGE ones, aligned with airflow rather than pointing away from the CPU itself, attached to a massive heatsink, and it's pointed backwards, practically right next to the back fan pulling air out, but it was itself pulling air INTO the heatsink which, I mean, doesn't seem ideal

mod one in it's preety simple buy a 3" section and use a drill make some speed holes and mount it if you make a paturn out of a tea soucer then drill holes ina circle you can you the drill bit to make a round port and use the bit too cut a port out of all the smaller holes then find some mesh and cool that shizzzzz.

I agree but to get a good modle but an older spec, like i.e. under the curent I model ya ram has to be all in, gpu and mobo
Make sure you look around for a good case too you want ideally something like the one I have with a section behind the motherboard for cables and stuff to hang out, so the area where the actual hot parts are is free flow for air
Just make sure it works with the motherboard you get before you finalize anything, cause not ALL mobos fit in ALL cases

As long as you can see that it works, and it has a motherboard that's fit for upgrading, you can really just buy any old used computer if you find one The motherboard is like, the one thing you're really reliant on, everything else can be upgraded but only as far as the mobo allows If it's an old-ass one that can't handle newer RAM, you're gonna be screwed either way, cause the parts on it might not fit in newer mobos

Particularly because GPUs have gotten bigger, so on an older mobo, even if they technically fit, they might not actually be viable because they cover the slots for like, your ram or your cpu fan or whatnot GPUs used to be like, much much smaller than they are now
