Yeah Plus they seemed to have brushed over the whole peaceful school life part of the series I know the main Muv-Luv story is actually like two or three full VNs where one consists of what's basically just a totally normal dating sim eroge And then after that you get the nightmarish BETA world where all the characters from that happy life are suffering soldiers

heike is one of those shows that i'm likely going to suggest to people who are new to anime it doesn't have all the typical tropeshit and so far doesn't have that identical-to-every-other-show-in-its-genre-plot-structure thing going on
