To answer your question though, the two pairs of brothers are an overlap Their place in the world is kind of a paradox because of that
Anno
I feel bad for their parents though These two men they don't know walk into their store, ask some kind of weird questions, and then another person comes in and starts saying some even weirder stuff that you feel somehow relates ro -to you but you don't quite know Oh their parents realized what was going on
Anno
well that episode was probably the least interesting one of the series, but they had to close it up somehow i still really like this show though i think it was really good
I wonder what it's like to get seasick Probably pretty similar to carsickness I had that a lot as a kid
Anno
the madman he really did it
Anno
I've been to that temple! I think At the least I'm pretty sure there's only one in Japan like it
Anno
There's a part in Sekiro which I'm pretty sure is intentionally designed after this temple too
Anno
yeah that's the first thing i thought of when i saw it was that part in sekiro and also the giant koi
Anno
Japanese high society had at this time an interesting dichotomy between the warrior culture of the samurai and the others who basically ran the country and its states, and the court of the emperor and other "blood" nobles The samurai praised martial power and, well, for lack of a better word, toughness But the court sought beauty and an appreciation for the arts that a warrior of the time likely would have found meek, or effeminate, or various other traits found unbefitting for a warrior of the time But to join the emperor's court would have been the highest honour, so
Hopefully we're not too short on stuff next week If we can move Heike to Thursdays we might be able to have Kirara join us to watch it But I think that's something that can wait until we have a larger stock of shows to pick from
I have a friend who is super into magia and she told me that people who played the game hate this because they made a lot of changes
Anno
That matches up with some of the chatter I've seen about it, so I'd believe it I mean most mobage don't really translate great into anime They have a hard time like a lot of RPGs do getting their plot into a
I'm sorry is this intentional that Yachiyo's lines aren't subbed It's not like they're unintelligable And they're subbing Iroha's lines
hm This hs to be a mistake because she's just talking normally
Anno
Yeah There's a bit of an audio effect on the lines that aren't being subbed though They're fuzzy, like they're internal thoughts or something The fact that they're consistent about what lines they sub and which ones they don't is what makes me feel there's some kind of intentional nature to it
I told my friend that I'd actually liked the second half of this it's been pretty exciting
Anno
>Let's stay weak, and support each other Not that I entirely disagree with the sentiment but it's a funny way of putting it
Anno
>>985691 Once they got all the character episodes out of the way and the plot started kicking in, it's been fun Having the Walpurgisnacht story arc and bringing in the Madoka cast was good for a climax too Even if they had to cut up a lot of stuff, not knowing the source material is a benefit for us in this situation hah hah
Anno
That said, and I assume this is an in-game mechanic anyway, the whole Connect thing being a combo special attack is a bit too dorkily on the nose for me
>>985693 that's one of the things i really liked bringing in the old cast really helped a lot
Anno
Oh here we go Even with the distraction that dragged Walpurgisnacht here, it was only temporary And it reverts back to its course that brings it into conflict with Madoka and her friends
Anno
Maybe it isn't only eight episodes? I thought I saw it was But there's a lot here with only two and a half minutes left
Anno
Also I guess this is a BAD END where Madoka and Homura defeat Walpurgisnacht regardless of the casulties Since the world isn't plagued by the unrestricted Walpurgis
yeah I assume this is a bad end in the largest context of the series waiting to see how
Anno
They might not show that part from Homura's perspective, but I would imagine it's a timeline where Madoka doesn't survive the fight with Walpurgisnacht
Was this the last episode of this how much do we have left
Anno
That's what I've been saying >>985668 here and >>985704 here I was under the assumption going into this episode that it was the season finale But then yeah, with all that was left hanging on the end of this episode, there isn't really much of an ending feeling to it
As far as Magia Record goes, I imagine there's a bunch of plot they can keep adapting
yeah I saw you say that but I was like wow this is it Maybe we'll get another season
but I guess it's a show for the game so they're okay with it being so open
Anno
Kinda hard to close a story that might not even be over yet I don't know what the state of the mobage's plot is, whether its finished or not I doubt it is, since the game's still in service at least in Japan, and I can't imagine they'll finish the story until the game is likely in its dying out phase
