The Shogun's the big problem

As far as a monstrous form goes, a crow is a pretty good choice

I just always assumed it was the same white crow from her mother to her

I wonder if real Yoshinobu hadn't stepped down if he could have remained Shogun into the early 1900s
He was born 1837 so he could've survived to be the old man we saw him as here
I guess culturally there was pressure for the Shogunate to end
And he didn't have some magical power resource like this one to maintain his hold on power

I feel if they wanted Sawa dead by the end of the series they could've connected those parts better
Since they obviously really cared about that last scene with her and Asahi
And really wanted the "years later" scene
The stabbing was kind of a weak way to tie it all together

up until sawa gets stabbed inthe back, i'm cool with the ending

but if sawa dies, isn't it better if asahi doesn't come back?
asahi should've stayed dead if sawa is just going to die
this is the worst end
and why does asahi have the bird?
she wasn't karasumori-blooded

i feel like this last episode is in a hurry and the ending seems pretty obvious

I kind of understand realizing the relationship you've been pursuing, kind of expecting it to fail, suddenly seeming like it would work out, being really scary to you and making you back off
It's a very understandable kind of cowardice

I still dig the glam rock look Joe's got with his hair long now

I hope they don't do a joe gets sick arc

To be fair this whole season has been a "Joe Gets Sick" arc
He's been addicted to painkillers and struggling with mental illness the whole time
As nice and soul-soothing as that arc where he drank tea with the immigrants was, that's not really enough to do away with like five years of heavy painkiller use

This guy who developed the skeleton that Mac is using really feels a bit satirical of the modern era Tech Bro CEO that's come out of Silicon Valley
Maybe not altogether greedy or cold-hearted, and maybe does earnestly believe what they're doing is for the good of humanity
But puts that before being a bit more of an empathetic human being

Yeah Mac is going to end up getting hurt

I like scenes like this that are calm but still hot blooded

They put a lot of soul into the characters
Like you can really just "get" Joe
He's a bit of a dumbass and loves to punch a bit much and is unabashedly set in his ways
But he's really human

Oh Joe plans to fight with gear
That's dangerous
It means he'll be fighting Mac in gear too

I like his reasoning though.
Joe always does things his own way.

I'm worried for his safety but I don't fault his choices

Now it's Mac's turn to trip down the long hole into zetsubou
It doesn't help that he's been lied to about the safety of the tech he's using

What's destroying one family when it comes to flooding the market with your potentially hazardous tech

Oh Nomad is going to be thirteen episodes
I felt like this was a bit of a loaded end to an episode to move into the final episode on

This is one I'd love to see more of
I think the manga's at like a hundred chapters or so, even if they've been maybe cutting things here and there in the anime they could still probably have enough material for at least another cour easily

We're kind of all of a sudden getting a lot of answers to some of the questions the series has been establishing

If the Shadows are basically changelings that take on the physical aspects of abducted human beings
It really suits the rather Fey aesthetic a lot of the Shadows have

That slight way her smiled tweaked right at the end there was unnerving

Wow she's super brainwashed.

What I really liked about that bit there is Emilico's seiyuu did a really good job at differentiating between "her" personality and the one that's kind of been inserted in by the brainwashing
If you go back and listen, there's this almost robotic way she happily talks about cleaning, and then afterwards when she talks about the faulty dolls being of no use
But in between those two lines, there's one where she says she feels sad about Rum and it's much more in the usual tone she has
