What a goofy conviction

They pulled the "ship turns into a giant robot" card a bit early
Unless this fight against Rudolf is gonna last long enough to enter the final arc
But I get the feeling there ought to be at least one arc after he goes down

I always find it funny how ever robot show starts with the robots on the ground
and then literally all the robots are flying by the end

It kinda happens in shounen series broadly too
People who start off fighting on the ground, as power levels continue to scale, inevitably end up fighting in the air

If Zetsu goes down in this fight though, doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of the fight though?
Like the whole reason Rudolf stirred to action was because Zetsu was an anomaly and had to be dealt with
So even if they defeat him, if Zetsu goes too, it's kind of a loss

That's a cheat code

Zetsu's conviction is so intense he refuses to die even when he is killed
Oh I guess that was just his dying strike though

The start of this series was Arrow saving everyone
and the end has been Arrow ruining everything

They've done a decent job with the narrative arc of the show
It's been pretty campy and silly, even as mecha shows go, but I also think it's never tried being earnestly serious like some of these shows can be like

crazy how they managed to end two episodes in a row with the same cliffhanger and it works just as well each time

that was a really good episode

It did a great job of explaining the things we've kind of been able to infer about him, like why he doesn't always seem to quite go along with the Shogun's desires
As well as also help expand on how he knows her.

this show is so good

I've definitely been really enjoying it
The characters in it are all so well realized
And the story arcs keep the narrative interesting

it does characters so well, yeah
they all feel like actual people and they say and do things that feel natural
anime and film tend to skip that part, so it feels refreshing here
and it's really good at emotional impact, too
