to be honest there's no reason to make homemade miso either, because the stuff you get from the store is usually better anyways
i think there's a pretty decent asian population in toronto so you probably won't have that hard of a time getting a tub from a local asian grocer
as for making it, you just boil water and throw in the miso and veggies and then simmer until the veggies are how you want them

I'm no big tofu fan, but I could consider it for miso soup
That would be something I'd decide on the day or or close

Toronto's got a decent Asian population but not as much Japanese people as other parts
But I'm pretty sure even some of the supergroceries have it in stock

i'm also not big on tofu, but miso soup is probably the easiest way to use it that tastes pretty good
the main reason i don't like tofu is because i find it fickle to cook with

this show is at its best when there's action
but it's not so intriguing when there isn't

This is an interesting era in Japan.

There hasn't been a lot of focus on it, but there's a parallel history going on where Japan obtained some kind of super-resource and accelerated technology

i think rika means the japan where they have dirt roads and paper houses but also revolvers and cars
it's like a late 19th early 20th
like mars red but even earlier

I believe this is in the 1920s
Maybe 1910s

Kimetsu no Yaiba takes place about the same time too
If I remember correctly it's the cultural era immediately after the Meiji Restoration.

It would be kind of neat if with this now, all the main cast that's been in the series so far are all dead
And it picks up with a new cast next episode
But I'm pretty sure the MC will be okay despite the poison
And the girl pretending to be a man didn't die from the gunshots

this episode was interesting but not exciting
i didn't care for most of it but i liked the part where the blonde lady gave her speech

Too bad she's deeeeaaaad
But I think there's also a good chance her and her man's death were faked to properly allow them to disappear.
But I think the chance that she just got killed by the Shogun's government to ensure she can't reveal its dirty secrets is equally as likely.

When she was riding the golem at the end of the episode too she was in tatters and beat up

This show is pretty comfy too.

it has that aura of "nothing actually bad is going to happen, so you don't have to be stressed about anything"

You read/watch it more for the silly antics than the drama
It's basically a comedy with narrative structure

I still can't help but feel he's being a bit bold here

Though on the other hand, having some female acquaintances Sayu can rely on for security would probably help a lot
In a realistic interpretation of this scenario there would be a lot of ethical concerns about an unrelated girl effectively being a live-in maid for a grown adult.
