I think there's valid reasons for why people can't buy other consoles
Full dive hardware is probably pretty expensive
Maybe sure, the deadbeat adult guy could maybe save up the money
But the MC is a kid who was already having money shortages when he first bought the game
He probably doesn't have the spare cash to get another console
And why bother working and saving up to get a new one when the game's still gonna be a lousy experience even if you don't have the stress of being a criminal.

These kinds of little knacks for locking bikes or securing helmets are always hard to work the first time you work with them
You've got to figure out their necessary force and direction
