They didn't bother with most of the game-y and gimicky stuff of isekai and basically just wholly committed to the fantasy adventure aspect

It would have to be at some point between now and the fifteen or so years the human plotline is probably taking place in
So it's hard to know when exactly she'll be able to take on a human form

they were being pretty obvious when they mentioned the rot attack right before having her talk about the rot attack

i'm starting to get the idea that it's just not being subtle
and that she really is all these things

You don't throw a dozen glaring correlations at the viewer without trying to set up a deceit

Even if ultimately the relationship didn't work out
So there's an argument for yes, confessing to her being a good option
But I think him not confessing is also a good option too.

Aoi's approaching things from a standpoint that genuine personalities and people aren't really a thing, and people who try to convince themselves they are, are deluding themselves
And more or less, I agree with that.
So I don't really see her as sociopathic or evil, she's operating under principles which match with that base philosophy.

I do think she gets way pissy with Tomozaki over him not agreeing with her, but that's just showing that she's not really the cold, rational person she thinks she is, and is capable of more emotion than I think she gives herself credit for.

The Fushimi-Inari shrine really is a great trip though
