Oh we're not done with Takano eh She's kind of been only in the background this whole series
>>928064 Might be since she's got the proper power Rika was supposed to have, she doesn't need to be dead to move between meta-levels Assuming the Sea of Fragments is similar to the meta-world we see in Umineko
Anno
Okonogi is a total bastard no matter when he shows up Even in Umineko he's not a good person I know he's also a character in Ciconia too, I wonder what role he serves in that.
Especially since this Takano never kills anyone She might've been a bit unethical in her research into the Hinamizawa Virus
Kirara ๐ ๅคงๅป ๏ผไบบโ โฟโฟ โไบบ๏ผผ
Ohhhhhhh. She's remembering.
Anno
Yeah hm A lot of people are remembering previous fragments Maybe the presence of two loopers are kind of creating a wave collision effect and magnifying the way people around loopers also begin to remember past fragments.
Anno
I don't remember this grey-haired lady She's got a distinct enough look that she must be relevant Like different from these suits here.
She's got grey hair and long, purple nails. So you know she's evil.
Anno
Yeah definitely Maybe she's Higurashi original But maybe she's like a younger ... uh, the aunt that was hunting Ange in Umineko The sister of Kyrie Or maybe Rudolf's other wife I don't remember that messy family all too well
>>928075 Satoko seems to think she's important still, so since it's the Satoko show, that does mean she's got some relevance I'm wondering if it'll have something to tie into the story arc of Satoko to Lambdadelta Since even with these recent revelations, Lambda still -clearly- looks more a visual inheritance of Takano.
I was kind of expecting the redemption arc to continue so I'm a little surprised to see it turn to Takano.
Anno
They really do keep opening up more and more plot points for a show that by any hard evidence is on its final episode
Kirara ๐ ๅคงๅป ๏ผไบบโ โฟโฟ โไบบ๏ผผ
>Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sotsu (ใฒใใใใฎใชใ้ ใซๅ When the Cicadas Cry Graduation) is a 2021 Higurashi no Naku Koro ni anime project created by Studio Passione and a sequel to Higurashi: When They Cry โ GOU.
ah
Anno
Hah hah hah yeah I heard some whispers of that earlier today
Even last week I'd been seeing some chatter that there might be a split-cour
Anno
But really to be fair Would it really be a When They Cry series if they didn't have two two-cour anime series
>>928089 Mou. I want them to keep going with this now! I don't want to wait until July!
Anno
July at best, but I wouldn't be surprised if it comes even in the fall.
Anno
I wonder if Satoko's got to scheme and do something to keep Takano in the village Since it's kind of hard to keep Rika stuck in this gameboard if Takano gives up
Satoko really went FULL EVIL just cause she got bullied in school a bit
Kirara ๐ ๅคงๅป ๏ผไบบโ โฟโฟ โไบบ๏ผผ
It seems like we're coming to where the series started now
Anno
They do a great job of portraying Featherine in the somewhat unsightly-yet-dignified manner she had in the VNs This is what we should've had with an Umineko Chiru anime adaptation
Kirara ๐ ๅคงๅป ๏ผไบบโ โฟโฟ โไบบ๏ผผ
Jesus christ Satoko. You're gonna brute force the safe code?!
Anno
She's only got to do it once I suspect the code isn't variable in different fragments.
Anno
>Once I decide to win, my victory is certain Okay Lambdadelta, Witch of Certainty
Anno
A bit of an anticlimatic final episode for the series hah hah They basically spent it setting up everything for what'll happen in Sotsu
Well, I guess since that's the last episode this is probably the only time I'll do this for a while, but thanks for having me for anime! ใใใใฟ
Anno
They probably could've cut out the Teppei stuff and had most of this be last episode And done something a little more impactful for the big finale
But I suspect they might mirror Kai in Sotsu And have the first arcs of the next series cover the "answer" to the first arcs in this series Like we'll see the earlier arcs of this series but from Satoko's perspective as she works to ensure tragedy strikes Hinamizawa.
>>928104 Thanks for staying up! Maybe by the time Sotsu rolls around circumstances will be more permitting for you to watchalong
I think they did a lot of that stalling stuff on purpose.
Anno
Well Ryuukishi was more involved in this adaptation than he has with previous ones of his work And while the man can think up some really engaging stories, he's also RIDICULOUSLY long-winded and roundabout in his writing at times. He's definitely the kind of person who thinks you've got to hide a nugget of truth in a pile of unimportant paragraphs. It's one of the things that makes Umineko both a fascinating and exasperating read. There's a lot of tedium and what feels like tedium at first But then after things start clicking you think back on all that tedium you read and think "oh wait, there was something in there all along" And it kinda feels like he hasn't changed much with writing these new Higurashi arcs, hah hah
Anno
Dr. Stone Go-toubun no Hanayome Hataraku Saibou Black Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Idoly Pride Episode 8-10 Kai Byoui Ramune Episode 3-6 Log Horizon Episode 7-10 Show By Rock Episode 10-11 Tenchi Souzou Design-bu Episode 7-9 World Trigger Yakusoku no Neverland Yuru Camp
Now time to see where they go now that this looooooong arc is over
Anno
They don't really have a main antagonist with Tsukasa quelled I wonder if the manga for this hadn't been doing good enough, if this would've been the end of it in WSJ
Oh maybe the spear guy won't give up being a villain so easily He was hinted at being even more potentially dangerous than Tsukasa Not stronger, but more violent and bloodthirsty
Why do they keep calling the girl with pink hair and octopus lips a he Is that just an issue of dumb translators I'm pretty sure she's clearly a girl, and was called such when she showed up earlier
Anno
Man Tsukasa sure went from invincible to ran through fast. Though the spear guy was accurate It's always easier to get to someone when they have something to protect.
I'm pretty sure this guy never considered it a peace. Hah hah talk about that symbolism With the crescent moon behind his head Looking awfully like devil's horns.
Anno
>There's absolutely no way this planet can sustain seven billion people Shut up Malthus your whole thing was proven wrong AGES ago.
He's talking to the science guy who is going to do it anyway
Anno
It's not even an accurate problem in our modern day and age! With current technological and geographical capacity, we can -we are still more than able to sustain our current population with our planet's resources.
I guess it's a nice end that oxygen is saving the day
Anno
Well we'll see if it's the wake-up call the body's owner needs to start taking better care of himself A heart attack like this is a pretty severe warning to you that you need to get your shit together Or the next time one strikes, you won't be so lucky
Anno
Sounds like for the time being, the body's owner is trying But that might also be that he's still hospitalized and is having other people look after his well-being Which would also explain the lack of smoking and alcohol.
Well people always change a little back and then fall back
Anno
I think for plenty of people, moments like this are turning points too though. When faced with your own mortality, it's not a bad notion to use it to improve your life choices.
Anno
Hah hah oh no They all got isekai'd into a new, awful body
Anno
I guess that's how they reset after the escalation of the previous series of ailments couldn't get any worse. Just reload the situation into a brand new body.
Well I guess if they want to continue the series, that's their avenue to do so Which is kind of weird though; I was under the impression the manga for Black was concluded
It's a big mission they're embarking on! Gotta have the rations for everyone
Anno
These other house mothers that took over looking after the kids don't seem nearly as good at hiding their menacing nature as their first house mother did They all look pretty distinctly evil
Anno
See here's the demons the experimented-on kids should be picking fights with The ones happily perpetuating the cycle of eating humans
So far A lot of these kids have really doofy faces
Anno
Nice to know that one guy didn't end up being a snake He definitely looked the most likely to be one But even with that, I guess the trauma he suffered being experimented on was unforgivable.
Sonju, the fighting demon of the friendly pair, is still somewhere in the vicinity though Oh maybe he's unnecessary though Didn't expect her to turn like that.
It is kind of a bit Deus Ex Machina-y though She hasn't really shown any inclination she wanted to tear down the system
Anno
I can kinda see why people might've been a bit let down with the series in this later bits A lot of it felt a bit over the place and a lot of stuff just getting introduced without much build-up Like this Peter Ratri character, kind of only just got introduced when Norman went to that experimental facility, but he seems to so far be the big bad of the series, unless the Demon King or some other important figure in the Demon government shows up And all his plans basically got foiled in like an episode worth of content. There hasn't really been the narrative weight that the first season had.
I wonder why htey call it the evil blood I guess it's because it disrupts the whole system
Anno
Yeah from the sound of it, that's a name that was given by the Demons that were trying to cover up what its effects were Making it out to be evil and making the girl out to be evil was propaganda to try to encourage the peasantry demons from interacting with her.
Mountaintop views are nice I'd like to do some more mountain hiking some day. Being able to in Japan would be doubly nice.
Anno
Rin is pretty tough for going around in this winter weather on a scooter Even if there's not any snow, and the temperatures probably aren't too bad, riding around exposed on a bike is awwwwfullll the moment it starts getting cold.
Anno
Hah hah hah I was definitely expecting something like that Their teacher is such a drunk.
>>928179 Yeah, it's always so col din this it adds to the comfy but hmm spring is kinda starting here
Anno
We had a ridiculously warm day last Friday that was practically early summer temperatures But then it reverted right back to third winter I'm still waiting for it to feel properly warm.
Anno
I think even if you don't consider yourself or expect to be much of a survivalist, knowing how to make a good campfire is a good skill to know. In the emergency situations where you'd want a campfire you probably would want to be able to make one as efficient as possible.
Most of the costs are upfront And generally the gear is the kind of thing you buy for life, since that's part of the culture of camping, being all rough and tough You could probably go secondhand and cut costs that way, or just go for simple, maybe less fashionable stuff, and save money that way too But you can also definitely shell out on crazily nice stuff.
The actual camping is actually pretty cheap, with you spending a fraction of the cost of a hotel to stay a night at a campsite.
Anno
Oh right, it'll be the twin birthday of Inuko and Nadeshiko That'll be sweet.
Seeing Rin be drowsy all episode was a pretty thorough reminder of how drowsy I am though, hah hah I didn't really get my evening nap today. Maybe I'll actually get some decent sleep tonight because of that.
