They'd given us glimpses of her scars previously in the show, but it was kinda brushed over as "a thing in the past"

The further we get into this series the more warped the girls they're trying to save are

That was a good episode.

It was a toss-up between a Mami moment or a big epiphany and triumph

this show is pretty good
and picking up steam
more people are noticing it too
i hope it wraps up nicely in one season and doesn't end up becoming a franchise tho

I don't like Nino that much, I think she's far from the top
but the chemistry between the two is hard to deny

Futarou's such a prickly guy, he kinda needs someone who can play ball with that.
It's partially why, despite being a nice girl, Miku just doesn't work with him
She went too far on the dere scale once she started falling for him
I think it's also why him and Ichika don't really feel much in the way of romance either.

as for futarou, nino and itsuki probably have the best chemistry
i can't really relate to futarou though

That's kind of an extremely rare occurence in a romcom like this

she gains points for sure but she is way too far in the red to come out positive by the end of the show

See this is why Miku's kind of a weak character
She has a perfect chance to be straight with him but can't

Not that a grocery trip really is an ideal place to admit your feelings for someone.

Itsuki is best girl and the one I'm rooting for.

I'd be happy with her or Yotsuba winning
Nino would be okay too if they keep building this relationship
The only ones I'd feel kinda dulled by would be Miku or Ichika

i feel like itsuki makes the most sense

yotsuba and ichika are the best but i don't think either of them make a good pair with futarou

Their stepdad's such a petty bitch it's kinda fun

he's a cold fish but i think he cates

I am kind of partial to forward girls like that

The fake Itsuki was probably Ichika
Since she overheard Nino outright confessing to him

i'm just not willing to forgive nino

Nino is just the token tsundere.

itsuki is the most reasonable and smartest but she isn't particularly interesting or seem to have hobbies or anything
she seems like a good mix for futarou kind of for that reason though

nino is both token tsundere and also incredibly unstable
i can't imagine anyone being better off for having her around
i know she's just an anime character but she's also the only one out of the 5 who doesn't act in a way i consider to be up to par with socially functional humans

ichika is probably the most interesting just because she has something she's passionate about and also the most practically and socially experienced, but yotsuba comes in close second in my book for similar reasons

the author murdered miku like S1E4 or whatever
she got replaced with a fu-kun loving robot

I'm still pretty convinced Itsuki is Best Friend tier
The way she interacts consistently with Futarou is never on a romantic scale but rather two people that are on the same level

Which in real life would make her an easy candidate for a romantic partner but this is anime not real life

But anime usually approaches romance in more of a dynamics and complimentary fashion
If you try to approach anime expecting realistic romance I think you're generally just going to be frustrated.

The best couples are best friends first.

i think the romance so far has been _mostly_ realistic so far
there hasn't actually been that much of it but that's kind of what feels normal about it
but also i'm pretty sure he's just going to find out who the girl he knew when he was a kid is and just pick that one

Yeah it's the classic Love Hina beat that's been done and redone probably hundreds of times over since that point.
If there's a romance partner you met as a kid and made some kind of promise to, then no matter what circumstances arise in the literal decades since that point, you've got to marry them when you find them as an adult

This show's definitely been my sleeper hit of the season
There's better stuff airing but I kinda expected to enjoy them
I went into this one not really expecting anything and have been really surprised by it.

Oh when she started unbuttoning her coat I thought that was going to head down a different direction

I feel like this show will end up going full eva by the end

Well I dunno if we'll hit anything like Instrumentality by the end of this
But things might start tumbling down

Using the android as an actor is kind of cheating
She seems to have some kind of actual hypnosis ability after all.

Okay maybe we are getting something kinda like Instrumentality

It seemed like she died under his supervision, but it could've been just a serious injury she survived but was left with a lifelong inju

Kinda sounds like despite their success with the show, that guy that wants to shut them down still pulls something

What the cell

We've really gotten the full shounen recap at the top of this episode for Cancer's return

I figured this would be less comfy since cancer is back

Seems like cancer's doing as cancer does and is growing en masse in the body

Ah yeah there's the beat I was kind of waiting to see hit
The biggest problem with cancer is the body can't really recognize it as a malignant force since it's just your body's cells behaving as they should
So your immune force is limited in its ability to counteract it.

The first cancer arc kind of ended on a fairly contemplatitive note too
That cancer isn't "wrong" per se, that it's just the cell behaving as it should
It's just as it should is going to eventually kill the body
So as the body ourselves, we need to kill the cancer

The regulatory cell has been doing a pretty good job so far protecting the cancer cell from the other cells
Cancer is really the kind of thing that you can't really let your body take care of itself
And it's not a toxin or poison to your body, not literally
So it's not something you can rely on healthy diets or the right things to eat to take care of.
Your only real recourse is medical treatment.

Cell is in trouble.

Especially since the usual defense for bacteria currently has his hands tied
And this last bacterium isn't particularly useful right now for protection either
I wonder if lactic acid bacteria are actually useful for dealing with harmful bacteria though

That was really one whole episode of hardship, eh
Not one thing went right during it

Guess the friends are kinda feeling the space between them and Hori and Miyamura, and the space between Hori and Miyamura

How clutzy

I still insist this green-haired girl is plenty cute, and people comparing her to Beast don't know what they're talking about

Liking someone because you feel like you can protect them kinda feels like to me an unhealthy basis to form an attraction to someone on
But I guess he turned it around in a decent bit of self-analysis and realized it was more him depending on her rather than her being protected by him

yeah. seems like side character plots are picking up

Looks like the theme of the blonde friend is she's always the one giving things up for others
Gives up on their friend because green-haired likes him
And even with small things, like that book, because even a total stranger wanted it too.

Hori is a really good character

All the characters are really well-realized in this series
The two main characters the most, obviously
But they're all pretty nice.

I wonder what they were doing there.

It was much more clear what was up in the manga, hah hah
The chapter they slept together was one of the few ones I saw posted on /a/
And I think the manga also had the kid brother have a much more knowledgeable understanding of what had happened too.
Rather than the kind of ambiguous way it was handled there.

Oh okay nevermind that was pretty explicit
Also a clever way from Hori to keep him from keeping that shorthair

yeah it's a mark of ownership

She really did prefer his long hair!
So it works double as possession and also encouragement to keep his hair long
What a lucky guy.

And shoujo can defintely get a bit turbulent towards the end of their runs.
